I didnt even fully get all the things *I* was supposed to clean, where all the supplies were etc. (big hostel) much less teaching other people. Just walked out. Fuck that. Never got paid for the first day (even though that's illegal too, the student jobs in my country can be terminated at any point but they need to pay you for the worked hours) but idc, not worth spending a moment more in that place. TLDR: Was lied to during the job description and walked out when I realized the s--t show I got hired into. I accepted a job at a lumber mill where I would be sorting and stacking planks. I was told that we would be working ten hour shifts Monday to Thursday then a 6 hour shift on Friday. So really not a bad schedule and the overtime would be nice. On Monday I started hearing rumors that we always ended up working 60 hour weeks. On Friday they would wait until the last minute then tell us to work the full ten hours. At the end of Friday's full shift they would then inform us we were required to work a half shift on Saturday that always turned into a full shift. I was also told they will work us to death Spring, Summer and fall, then lay everyone off for three months in the winter. I worked the full week, discovered my boss was a egotistical 19 year old, fellow employees were burn outs with nasty attitudes and sure enough on Friday a few minutes before quitting time we were told to work the full ten hours. I walked to the lunchroom and clocked out. Didn't even tell anyone I was leaving. On Monday I called HR to get my check and informed them that the hard labor wasn't an issue, but the sh---y attitudes and being lied to like we were mentally challenged and couldn't figure it out was a bit much.
When I was doing residential electric, my supervisor didn’t like that. I was taking too long with wiring up the outlets and switches. I was doing my best. I even had a headache. litterly felt like I having was break (probably was) UK health standards as I was forced to take prepared food (packed but not sure how bad it is despite that) out to customers waiting in the car park for their order if we never managed to get it to them (before the stupid drive through timer was too high) seconds after touching a bin which are worse then the landfill they would be take too just the amount of tomato and bean sauce as well as gravy in those bins and they would not let me wash my hands before instead they even TWICE complained to our location manager (the other staff) that I said no wait a minute when they demanded to take the food out nanoseconds after touching the bin.
Did ask about being able to say no that lasted about a week then was "OK wE cAn'T hAvE yOu SaYiNg No NoW wE nEeD yOu To JuSt Do It!" lasted about 3 goes where I asked to have my hours cut to 8 on the every other week (so 8h weekend rather than 16) so I can actually have a relationship with my dad (full time at mum's)
Overall -999 out of 10 would never work there again. Would eat but never in.
Our Walmart is the same way; No matter how hard or fast you work, it’s never good enough. One of our coworkers took caffeine pills to meet their ridiculous time frames and now has heart palpitations. Fuck Walmart management.
Damn!
@@boogynights I’ve also been told that managers tell their supervisors to treated their employees like shit to motivate them into working harder; The employee that has heart problems has anxiety which lead them to taking caffeine to work faster.
First day at a janitor job at a new hostel. The other student teaching me, only person there who had worked for over a week (3 months old Hostel), had a breakdown from the stress. Worked 1.5h unpaid overtime(9.5h total), would be even more if I took a break I had a right to, also just straightup illegal. I just went hungry.
Next day, I found out the student quit, it was my job teaching 2 new people the job, with double the workload of the previous day.
Oh, and also witnessed sexual assault on the first day, the handyman slapped the ass of a co-worker who was clearly uncomfortable with it. Absolute trashheap of a hostel. Hope they go out of business/get sued the shit out of.
Sexist drunk owner of a pizza place I worked for in university. I was late to work by 8 minutes because of a wreck that redirected the entire Interstate I took as a route to work. He screamed at me and told me to leave if I was so upset. So I did. Another male coworker showed up 30 mins late and owner didn't bat an eye or scold him. He was also late for same reason. I hate to cry discrimination, but at that point it was blatantly obvious. The owner ran out when I stormed to my car and drove out trying to get me to come back.
Cya later bro.
I don't know how many times I have quit and been told, "YoU nEeD tO gIvE uS tWo WeEkS nOtIcE!"
And I just answer back, "Show me where it says that in our contract."
And then walk away as they remember WE DON'T HAVE A CONTRACT.
17:10 "The Owner's son."
"That family must have some crazy mental issues." Well, yes, and they probably all started with drugs.
I worked for a run down motel. I had to deal with police raids, drug use, completely vandalizing the rooms, fraud, arrests, and what made me quit was threatening to get stabbed my a tweaker
My so-called boss on the first day said if we didn't do something correctly that was in the job description, he would break into our moms house and r*pe our moms as punishment. WTAF?!
Being as old as I am now (58) I would definitely report that immediately! And not just to the co. but police!
@Phlush Phish at the time I was young and dumb and just quit. Now I would have owned that company
I was severely underpaid for the work I was doing as well as overworked (who isn't?). They always held a position I wanted as carrot to keep me. After blaming me for things that weren't my fault and outright disrespecting me, I handed in my resignation. Glad to hear those idiots got a poor performance rating during yearly reviews ❤
I was hired by the Arizona Highway Patrol and on my first day about an hour in were driving past Mesa and when he looks at me and says "Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for nuclear winter". I didn't even stop the car just unbuckled and tuck and rolled. I was driving. My partner and squad car ended up in ditch and I caught a ride back to Mesa and applied at FedEx
I worked for a security company a few months back, and while on shift my personal car was stolen. And even though I told my bosses of the risk of having the company car unlocked and the keys inside of them, it was only after my car got stolen did they do anything. I barely got a I'm sorry to hear that before my boss asked me if I was going to continue the work my week I put my 2 weeks in and found my current job in less then a day
Did you get your car back?
@RED Legend I did, but my insurance totalled it. Apparently the thief caused over half the value in damages
15:45 That was assault. You should have pressed charges.
"than for the next two weeks youre going to notice that Im not here" HAHAHA, Im gonna use that one next time!
"You throw a temper tantrum over that?"
"How does your nose feel?"
"Fine, why?"
"Then you know I didn't lose my temper."
Boss wouldn't hire more people to help, left after 3 days.
When I was doing residential electric, my supervisor didn’t like that. I was taking too long with wiring up the outlets and switches. I was doing my best. I even had a headache. I was just slow because I was still new, but I was really going for it I was really trying at the end of the day he told me and my friend that the next day we should stay home and First I clarified wait are you telling me that we have to stay home as a sort of punishment for taking too long? he said yes so then I just told him that I quit that’s bullshit. I’m not a child. I was actually trying.
19:10- complaining about 35° in a kitchen in the dead of winter is absolutely hilarious as a human, who uses Celcius
I know that although the law allows you to keep all your tips in my state at least in the food service industry the employer is allowed to count half of what you earn per hour in tips twords your hourly pay rate...
For me, it was the pools of blood, body parts, the fires and explosions. It just got to be too much. I'm a shepherd now. Very serene.
What
Why are people so shitty? Had I been mugged on a pizza delivery and told "no time to call the cops, take the next order back to the area where you were attacked", I think I would have thrown the pizza boxes at the manager and punched them through the boxes.
I almost feel bad for the MacDonald's manager for having such a rotten son though. He wasn't even a paying customer, and he left everyone involved in an awkward situation. Hope she gets a restraining order against him.
*I worked in retail for two months and I realised that I hated it because of my supervisor so I just began doing as bad a job as I could in protest (e.g. Refusing to help people, putting stock in the wrong places, doing a bad job at making sure the shelves are tidy etc.). However after getting another supervisor who was much more helpful and kinder I tried my hardest to improve but the damage had already been done and I was let go a few weeks later. I also got COVID while I was working there.*
I was promised it would all be 'white work' (Danish expression when the hiring procedure is done correctly: you get a contract, you pay tax, you get the benefits you should get according to rules etc.) - after 4 days I still hadn't recieved a contract, so I kept asking my boss about it. He just handed me 1200 DKK (about 175€) and said "here's your wage for this week". After arguing with him, I took the money and told him that he wouldn't see me again.
I work at mcdonalds the rule for food on break there is "dont take the piss"
All I have to say is I AGREE! ❤
15:45 What a fuck?! 😫

worked as a maid to a family, husband, wife, elder son, adopted son, little daughter. the wife owned a flower shop. i was told the job was basically cleaning her house, sweep and mop the floor of the shop, and once a week i would be paid extra to clean the rooms she rented for college students. then i learned she also wanted me to "watch the shop" (this means work as a cashier/salesperson) when her sons went busy (aka do absolutely nothing or go to see thir gfs). asked if she was going to pay me extra, she wouldn't. here maids have to get their work compulsorily legalized as registered as a full time job to have basic rights like paid leave, vacations, etc, she told me she didn't do that, i felt like a slave. i quitted on the spot after a week, one week later i got a job in a supermarket for two months till yesterday. best decision I've ever done.
Stupid decisions have consequences 😒
yea not gonna name the restaurant but was skipped over twice for a promotion that i was guaranteed & unofficially was working for a couple months. last straw was them having me train a guy i bought in to be my manager he started off with two dollars more than me.
so the day i found out he was being promoted i put in my two weeks, & in between shifts i went into the safe and took the weeks deposit. there was definitely some fallout someone lost their job and i got away scott free
So, you stole & belong in jail.
