Stop-motion animation is a filmmaking technique in which objects are physically moved in small increments between photographs. You may have spotted stop motion being used in popular films like Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas. While this technique requires plenty of time and patience, it’s worth the effort! In this Wondershare Filmora tutorial, we will use toy cars to create a stop-motion animation with items around us at home.

I make stopmotion video's, and I must say it's not easy. It is definitely a lot of work to make a video. What I learned in a year of making stopmotion, is that you will get better after a lot of practice..

So... what happens if you take less than 12 or 24 fps somewhere along the timeline of the shoot? Does that create a jumping effect?

Can I add motion blue to my stop motions using filmora?
When I drag my photos to the timeline it puts the final photo first and goes backwards to the beginning. Is there a quick way to fix this?
Also, is there a quick way to flip them? They're upside down, but that's because I shot them that way.

this is a good technique but it does NOT like doing alot of pictures! I do 3D rendering so it spits out thousands of pictures and filmora lags and even crashes when you put for example 4800 frames into it before editing the shots (example being audio and backgrounds)
when I do a modeling or animation reel I usually go up to around 20k frames and filmora hates it! I run a RTX3070 with 16GB ram and a i7 processor and it lags so badly I can't playback without crashing!
filmora 10 needs to have Image sequencing! please put it in! I BEG!

Couldn't you simply render out a video file ?
@@PeterJohnson76 unfortunately no! render engines don't compile things into a video! they make very detailed high quality frames that then need compositing! even big movie companies have to deal with this and 9 out of 10 they use programs that do image sequencing so they can save time for post processing and refinements! it's actually how the industry does things and why I've been loud about the necessity of image sequencing and why it SHOULD be in Filmora! and not just in the fancy PRO version that's more confusing to use! Filmora wins because of its simplicity to make and edit videos! but without image sequencing it makes it hard for anyone doing 3D or stop-motion work efficiently!
that's why I've been begging filmora for Image sequencing!

I did a couple of stop motion vids on my channel to thank people for subscribing. But, I did it differently. I made a video and just cut out the parts where my hand was in the scene. I’m still very amateur and it didn’t turn out as smooth as your stop motion…
How do we use onion skinning? You can’t make Stop Motion without onion skinning. Well you can, but do you really what to do that?

No offence but this is a waste of time,filmora is amazing,but i can get a stop motion app on my phone that can do all of this much quicker,though if i want to add stuff i do use filmora
Usually sound effects titles and music make the stop motion way better and that’s needs filmora.

Also the stop motion app has onion skinning. Witch is very useful.
