I'm agnostic, but the human part of me wants to believe there is something out there that cares. This song reflects a lot of thoughts that people like me have when we start to loose our religion.
As a Christian, I really appreciate this song. My daughter introduced it to me. It really shows the utter hypocrisy of many of us regarding how we treat God and Christianity. Sad, but true.
Not really. It is hypocrisy to push the responsibility of all of the creation onto a creation when the creator is supposedly omniscient, omnipotent, and all good. It's equivalent to abandoning a robot to look after a robotic factory when its programming is broken and the factory doesn't work. Yet the robot is told it can't question its situation when the factory is owned by the richest, smartest person to ever exist.
@@Isaac-xc9jjthat’s a really bad analogy. God already created the world, and was present for the first millions years of it to make sure we would be created like he wanted. When you finish your half of a school project you don’t expect to do the other persons as well, right?

English is not my native language, so can you please explain to me what it means "I haven't recycled in 5 days"? This is a figurative expression, isn't it?
@@ананас-й8ъ That Phrase means to (instead of putting trash in a trash can) recycle (or re-use) something through a process called, "recycling." Often times trash piling up is used to talk about global warming, or climate change. So him saying this is him worried about the changing climate, but knowing he's just as to blame for it too.
First, I want to say that this song is amazing with really catchy melodies and clever lyrics. Second, sometimes I also feel like God has abandoned us but after some thinking I came up with the idea that he is here with us, but not like we imagine him... he is in our friends, our good deeds, our family and the everyday things that make us happy. It' s up to us if we want him to ''to be around'' or not. It's okay if you disagree with me though, 'cause thats just my point of view.
Funny, I’m an atheist and also agree with this idea. While I don’t believe god exists at all, I believe it’s up to us to maintain our own happiness through our actions, either through good deeds, being kind, assisting others, etc. Regardless of whether you believe a higher power exists, it’s healthy to take your happiness into your own hands and see what you can do to foster it without any reliance on a prayer coming true. It helps keep you grounded, and prevents false hope from growing.
He always cares!!! :) It says He loves you, and never thinks a single bad thought about you! He doesnt like your sin but He loves you :) I hope that comforts or helps. If you ever have questions let me know and we can talk externally :3

Because, I believe in him and I know he is made of the materials great artists are made from. Also ty for the spelling correction
this song and "From God's Perspective" by Bo Burnham sum up my feelings on Christianity pretty well. "You pray so badly for heaven Knowing any day might be the day that you die But maybe life on earth could be heaven Doesn't just the thought of it make it worth a try? " "I'm not gonna give you love just 'cause I know that you want me to If you want love then the love's gotta come from you"
I believe in God. And no, I don't think it's offensive (at least for me). People are in his absolute right to see all those bad stuff that do happen. But lyrics are right, more time goes, more they twist God's history.
@@liamstewart6260 Well, i believe god created the nature, and I respect the ones who don't, u should do the same. Humans are really far away of knowing enought science to explain id God exists of no, so we can just believe or not.
@@liamstewart6260 Youve created a double standard for yourself. You say that you need someone to blame for the injustice of the world (God, I'm assuming), but yet you dont even believe he exists. So......which is it? But listen. I know that you mightve been trying to look 'woke' and 'based' while making those youtube comments, but many people who actually believe in religion will get understandably pissed off when you make the claim that god endorsed the holocaust, or that the possibility of god existing is equal to that of aliens living in the Earths core. I myself believe that god created the main building blocks for humanity to thrive, but what we as a society chose to do with that was always up to us. Thats what I believe in, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Having those opinions is fine, but stating that bluntly in a youtube comment full of religious people is quite inconsiderate.
As a Dad, I approve this honestly. He's right, we aren't always right and we can't control our children everywhere they go or what they do. All we can do as Parents, is just hope that they are happy and accept them for who they are.
What if God asks you after you die, "So how was heaven?" Wow so many likes.... Here is what it means by heaven...👇 According to the Hindu Puranas, there are fourteen worlds in the universe - the seven upper and the seven lower. The seven upper worlds are Bhuh, Bhavah, Swah, Mahah, Janah. Tapah, and Satyam; and the seven nether worlds are Atala, Vitala, Sutala, Rasatala, Talatala, Mahatala, and Patala. The region known as Bhuh is the earth where we dwell, while Swah is the celestial world to which people repair after death to enjoy the reward of their righteous actions on earth. 2nd Edit : The fundamental teaching of Hinduism, or Vedanta, is that a human being's basic nature is not confined to the body or the mind. Beyond both of these is the Chetana (spirit) or the spark of God within the Atman(you can call it soul). This spirit is within us and also within everything we see. All beings and all things are really, in their deepest essence, this pure or divine spirit, full of peace, full of joy and wisdom, ever united with God. This is not just theory, but it can actually be experienced. Anyone who takes the trouble to undergo the necessary training to purify and refine the mind and senses can begin to feel the truth of this. This training can take various forms and is known as yoga ("union"- union of the individual self with this inner spirit). नाहं देहो न मे देहो बोधोऽहमिति निश्चयी । कैवल्यमिव संप्राप्तो न स्मरत्यकृतं कृतम् ॥ ६ ॥ nāhaṃ deho na me deho bodho'hamiti niścayī | kaivalyamiva saṃprāpto na smaratyakṛtaṃ kṛtam || 6 || Realising, “I am not the body, nor is the body mine. This song is so underrated. As a Christian, I can really relate. It’s hard to look at this world and believe there is a God, but I t try to look past it as His plan :)
"I talk to you because I can't afford to shrink" is the most realest lyrics here, sums out my entire relationship with God as a Christian, that I see him as a God and not a Father, and therefore I only fear him, greatly at that, and can't feel any love. I'm ashamed to admit it, but that's just how I feel, and no matter what religion/bible study I attended, nobody can fix it, fix me.
I like the song. As a Christian, I think people struggle to remember who the devil is. Constantly there trying to drag us down. Demons whispering in our ear things we don’t deserve to hear everyday. God is here always, and as a good father he’s not just gonna help us every time we ask. We are more capable than we give ourselves credit for, and that’s how he’s gonna get the strongest most willed warriors. If you’ve taken the time to read this, Remember YOU are capable. Life is hard, but it’s the challenges we go through that make life better. This song is a great example of the things people think and question, not because of god. Because of people, people create religions and people create holidays for profit and Just remember “people suck” 😊 keep your heads up brothers and sisters it’ll be over in what feels like the blink of an eye❤
There's a song that came out decades before this one called Dear God by XTC that was a dis to god. It got radio play and actually caused quite the controversy.
Today I was in a hate-peopley mood so I typed in "People Suck" on Spotify. I was not disappointed because it led me to Confetti. But why are they so ghost on social media?! I NEED to follow. I'm a big fan.
Wow this song is the book of Habakkuk in a nutshell. Just with a modern twist, profanity, and the fact he’s not a prophet. Still, I’m a Christian and I can’t help but to pay tribute to the truth about this song. I do hope if your trying to find help to the harsh truth’s of the world to read through Habakkuk. Some good stuff in there as the world is messed up and really gives me hope in God. P.S. good song man...
LA-based pop duo CONFETTI released their new song “DEAR GOD” on Friday. “Dear God’ is just a casual conversation with ‘god,” stated the band. “We wanted to address our worldly concerns and the internal battles we face when seeking spiritual guidance, especially as of late. We also wanted to touch on relationships with friends, family and loved ones where the phrase “dear god” applies. We hope it relates to all humans, animals, plants or aliens, regardless of race and religion.“
Confetti put all of my thoughts that were in my head for the past few years into a song. Why did I just now stumble upon this? I can't stop playing it! Thanks Spotify!
This world sucks not because of god but because of us humans and people just search something or someone to blame it all on. God gave us everything we need, it's us who make the world at the end and live our lives.
That is why God said in the Qur’an, I did not create you except to worship Me, and worship is not only prayer, but responsibility, cleanliness, reform, kindness to animals, and many other things.

And that I use your name in vain and I should be more sensitive (uh-ho ho)
But I bet they mean more secretive
To not expose the hypocrite in every walkin' piece of shit
And hiding is insulting your intelligence
That fake-ass walking 'round in sundays best
When they know the world revolves around money and sex
The worst people are the first to forget (uh)
[Bridge]
Ooo-na-na-na, oh no
I bite my tongue but can't change how I think
Ooo-na-na-na
I talk to you because I can't afford a shrink
Ooo-na-na-na
It's the everyday people who do the ugliest things
And it's never gon-never gonna change
So you should come around more
[Chorus]
Oh dear God, where'd ya go?
You haven't been answering your phone
Not sayin' I'm mad but the world is fucked up
So you should come around more
Oh dear God, I hate to say
People don't believe in you these days
Not saying I don't but the world is fucked up
So you should come around more
[Refrain]
Oh dear God, and it's never gon- never gonna change
So you should come around more
Oh dear God, and it's never gon- never gonna change
So you should come around more
And it's never gon- never gonna change
So you should come around more
Oh dear God, and it's never gon- never gonna change
So you should come around more
[Outro]
I'd like to say ''Thank God''
(you should come around more) 3x
So you should come around more

I am religious too, i am christian and i love God, this song is actually my favorite!
@@Isaac-xc9jjthat’s a really bad analogy. God already created the world, and was present for the first millions years of it to make sure we would be created like he wanted. When you finish your half of a school project you don’t expect to do the other persons as well, right?
@@vms5163 That's a bad analogy. Why would we be obligated to finish the work of a deity that is all powerful? Humans can get one bad cut and die. Yet we are the equals in responsibility to God? Of course not. That is absurd.
@@Isaac-xc9jj because he expects the best in us, he knows most won’t try to be the best they can. But he hopes, just like you’d hope for the other person to finish the school project

“Maybe it’s climate change but who am I to talk, I haven’t recycled in 5 days” is a thought that’s a little too real
English is not my native language, so can you please explain to me what it means
"I haven't recycled in 5 days"? This is a figurative expression, isn't it?
@@ананас-й8ъ That Phrase means to (instead of putting trash in a trash can) recycle (or re-use) something through a process called, "recycling." Often times trash piling up is used to talk about global warming, or climate change. So him saying this is him worried about the changing climate, but knowing he's just as to blame for it too.
I've looped this so so many times
I cant get enough of Confetti's vibe and sound
First, I want to say that this song is amazing with really catchy melodies and clever lyrics. Second, sometimes I also feel like God has abandoned us but after some thinking I came up with the idea that he is here with us, but not like we imagine him... he is in our friends, our good deeds, our family and the everyday things that make us happy. It' s up to us if we want him to ''to be around'' or not. It's okay if you disagree with me though, 'cause thats just my point of view.
Hmmm, I don't even know what to say but, thx bro
I needed hear this, thx man
Guess I gotta be god tomorrow
🤷
Funny, I’m an atheist and also agree with this idea. While I don’t believe god exists at all, I believe it’s up to us to maintain our own happiness through our actions, either through good deeds, being kind, assisting others, etc.
Regardless of whether you believe a higher power exists, it’s healthy to take your happiness into your own hands and see what you can do to foster it without any reliance on a prayer coming true. It helps keep you grounded, and prevents false hope from growing.

He always cares!!! :) It says He loves you, and never thinks a single bad thought about you! He doesnt like your sin but He loves you :)

They think you are over, they think you are done
But I know you have only just begun!

@Aurelius I never said his songs are bad/boring/old fashioned or anything... I only tried to be cheerful in a creative way, trying to encourage him to keep making more songs, growing his fan-base and move on with his journey as a musician, and not be blinded by his past successes. Because, I believe in him and I know he is made of the materials great artists are made from.

this song and "From God's Perspective" by Bo Burnham sum up my feelings on Christianity pretty well.
"You pray so badly for heaven
Knowing any day might be the day that you die
But maybe life on earth could be heaven
Doesn't just the thought of it make it worth a try?

I believe in God. And no, I don't think it's offensive (at least for me). People are in his absolute right to see all those bad stuff that do happen. But lyrics are right, more time goes, more they twist God's history.

@@liamstewart6260 Thanks for dunking on the billions of people who believe in god by saying that god single handedly planned the holocaust.
There is not one line in the song that doesn't hit hard.
Well done, Confetti. I'm still listening in 2021 :)

According to the Hindu Puranas, there are fourteen worlds in the universe - the seven upper and the seven lower.
2nd Edit :
The fundamental teaching of Hinduism, or Vedanta, is that a human being's basic nature is not confined to the body or the mind.

Always a good time for confettis 🎊

As someone who stopped being a Christian when i was 12 the this is my favorite part 0:35 - 0:40
