That was informative. Just wanted to know a bit more about the process of applying for PGWP for a 1+1 program.
What all things should one be careful about before filing a PGWP in a 1+1 program case ?
For instance, I did a 1 year program from Jan 2021 - Aug 2021 with a SP validity till Dec 2021.
Applied for a new program for Jan 2022, and extension of SP in Oct 2021.
Graduating in Aug 2022 and wish to apply for PGWP, what all things should I keep in mind with respect to credentials and documentation?
make sure to get your final transcripts before applying for PGWP. other than that, it’s the same process as with a study permit 🙏🏼

Do other students who did 1 + 1 course in 16 months are getting 3 years PGWP or is it more safe to take the course in 24 months like with the same intake of first ?

after doing 1+1, I get 2 certificates in 2 fields, so does that mean I have higher chances of landing a job after graduation?
I'd say so but it always depends on you and your skills in the first place :)

college will accept your application as long as you meet all the requirements. as for the visa, I think it should be easy because you’re applying for a study permit extension from Canada 🙏🏼

Hi Yulia ! Many thanks for such an informative video. My question is about the gap btw the 2 degrees : So if my study permit expires in April and my second degrees starts in September, and I will apply for study permit extension in March. Will IRCC approve my study permit from May or August ? ( I.. e 1 month before my study)? If they approve start date from August do I need to get back to my country as my first visa will be expired. So will they offer me a temporary stay to wait 4 months?
And second thing will this make me ineligible for PGWP as apparently I must apply after 90 days of graduation of first degree but in my case my only study option will be after 5 months
Or do you suggest to take another course which is closer to my first visa expiration by date ?

1 years programs are made for people with higher education, so you won’t be able to enroll in the first place 🥲

I want to apply to Seneca college for a bundle program that means 2 different program ones. I am doing this so they can also give my family visa as well since it's hard to give family visa with 1 year program. So my question is if I can change the second program before the start date. (That is if I don't like the course anymore).
If we choose program which is available in September and our first program ends in April and study permit expire in September so 4 month drop is good?

I want to study in Quebec and eventually become a Permanent resident - how do I find courses I can take that won't mess me up for getting a study/work permit. if your program is over, then it's illegal. if you got your SP extension or PGWP, then it should be all good :)

my pleasure! you can apply for PR only when you have 1+ year of work experience. and it is worth it to take 2 year programs :)
Can you finish your first program, go back to home country, wait like 6 months and then start your second program? Does it still add up to 1+1 =3 ?
I think so! I haven't seen any info about gaps between programs but please double-check that with an immigration consultant / lawyer 🙏🏻

It shouldn't affect your PR as they only care about you having a Canadian education. check cic.gc.ca for immigration programs and requirements :)

Hello Yulia! i have been accepted 1+1 program but in offer letter it shows these programs together and length 16 months. these are different programmes 8 months (1 academic year) each but i am not sure it will be enough to get 3 years PGWP
that's exactly what I had and I got my 3 year PGWP :)

So my first post graduate will end in August 2023. Can I select next post graduate to start on January instead of September? If so can I work full time/ 40 hours till study start? (From September to January)

I did 1+1 program and got only 1 year pgwp. So disappointed on ircc 😥
you should contest that. At first, I got 1 year too. I called them and said that they made a mistake, they issued a 3 year PGWP

I think they're busy with refugees now. Try calling until you get an answer! Hope it resolves for you too 🙏🏻

if you school doesn't offer a PGWP, it means you will NOT get it no matter how many years you study. I'd say choose another school if you want to stay in Canada after your studies

you'll get a 1 year PGWP because 8 months = 1 academic year

4 to 5 subjects supplementary will be almost your 1 SEMESTER fee
