does the mdf board get fungus later because the acrylic paint is water based ??
no never happen with me. i would suggest you to use less water while painting. and dont forget to apply a primer like gesso.

but i never experienced such things, i am using this 3d outliner from fevicryl and fabrica for more then 7 to 8 years now, never faced such issue.
