I totally agree with Kiko... sometimes players behave like they need to show their muscles to the audience.. but, AT ANY TECNICAL LEVEL, they miss that first goal is to have fun😉
I always have the feeling that everyone is better than me, but if I'm playing in person with someone I try to steal something from their playing, and I ask a lot about music theory and scales because I'm self taught. Many times when I'm improvising I feel very limited about that.
I'm self taught and honestly what I learned from Randy Rhoads was to take a class and take lessons from others. Rabdy in my opinion is the greatest guitar player ever 🎸..
Hi Kiko. This show where you started the tour with Dream Theater was in Lorca. There were another two bands you haven't mentioned. Lacuna Coil and a basque band called Legen Beltza, where I still play drums. Nice to know you remenber that gig. It was an amazing experience for us to share the stage with all these great bands. There will always be better players than you . Even if your the best around in your city/town of your generation . The next generation will be better than you. That is the nature of the beast it has to progress with each generation .A lot of players just get jealous . It should inspire you to practice and work at the instrument . It is hard to define who's the best though with so many genres. Rock guitarists metal/neo classical and then there are fusion players. The right mindset is to appreciate other players , work at your own thing and what makes you happy .
I have a question. I am a very shy person and even when my parents ask me to play 🎸 for them I get very nervous and what I want to play goes wrong, even though I have practiced a lot and I know that I do well when I am alone or with my brother, I only can play well in front of my brother: '). What I can do? Has it ever happened to you?. I wish I could play in front of people :(
Always will be a "better" than you....but what's the definition of better ? Was Shawn Lane better than Jimi Hendrix? Sure when talk about beginners or intermediate players maybe..But for those that have found their musical path through their guitar i don't think that is there such a question....
