There’s something about making a shelter in extreme weather and getting out of the elements. Even watching you do that is satisfying So I can only imagine how it would feel to actually do that. I’m with the other gentleman who would prefer a small cabin and the fireplace but I love watching your videos. Thank you!
Thank you very much Scott. It was a fun experience to have things calm inside a snow hut while a storm was blowing outside.
The thing is, you not only did all that, but you got video of it all. That had to make it a lot harder.
Gosh, I’m so jealous of all your snow!! I love storms too, but we don’t get much snow here in SC, USA. I love your quinsy, but I would be afraid it would collapse on me. Lol. I have been watching you & Sandra since way back when & I enjoy seeing how the channel has grown. This is my favorite channel & has been since I discovered it. I have my Mama hook on you guys as well! We never miss a video and anticipate each new one. Thanks for the entertainment Mike & Sandra. You guys are great together. Keep up the good work! __ Cindy & Hilda
Thank you so much Cindy! We really appreciate it. It's still amazing to us how many people enjoy spending their time with us. We do love going out the and it's so great to have so many fantastic people to share these adventure with. Take care and tell Hilda that Sandra says Hiiiii!!!!!
My son was at U of SC in Columbia last winter when they got a couple inches. First time in like 30 years I think. Kids were all out playing.
Something about camping, surviving in freezing weather, keeping warm and safe, just feels so welcoming and cozy
OMG! 😱 what a beautiful, beautiful, winter wonderland scenery. and you can hear the birds whistleing in the trees 🎄 🎄 🎄 bliss! Oh I wish I was there with you!! 😊🎄🎄🎄🎄😱
I really love watching snow videos like this. I was born in the Philippines were we experienced no snow ever. Hope to visit your place soon..
This made me smile! Every boy’s dream, sleeping in a snow fort! Stay young at heart!! :)
Now that looked like a good time. Nice shelter and really like those candles. Take care and stay safe, Al
Thanks Al, I really love the UCO Candelier. Nice ambient light and a drink heater...😃
I’m so addicted to your videos man. My favourite things in this life are scuba diving and snow storms. Thanks for this cinematic channel. Love from NYC 💚🎥🍿
I get it 100%! I'm just like you with weather. I LOVE extreme weather, especially blizzards, thunderstorms & high winds. It IS invigorating! The only thing I can't handle (and frankly, can't stand) is heat. Once the temps get higher than 73-75°F, I'm miserable.
Thanks mariahmerrymary, there's something about wild weather that just makes it special. It was fun.
Same. I'm happiest when it is in the 50's or below. Love wind, snow, rain.
Enjoy ! Why let a good winter storm just pass by … thanks for posting
Good to see you Mike,,wow what a shelter especially in those conditions, absolutely brilliant kid👌👌👌👌👌
I love a good storm Mike. I’ve stayed in a quinzee a few times. They are so guilt and insulted. Once it was minus 30 outside and only zero inside. They can be comfortable when built large enough
Thanks Clifford! They really do keep most of the cold outside. Pretty neat!
My brother and I used to build snow shelters like this in our backyard in Southwest Missouri in the late 1970's. The winters were colder and we got a lot more snow in those days. I always get the summertime blues when it gets really hot and humid like today but like they said in Game of Thrones "winter is coming."
We get very hot summer's here in Iraq too, but GOT fans started the quotes already as they say we're expecting a pretty cold winter.
Hope it snows, last one was 18yrs ago.
Kkkk South of Brazil: Spring has just arrived...so, the temp dropped, and rain started pouring... our soil is not soft and sandy as yours. When it rains in winter we have cold and muddy soil... We'd rather stay indoors, if we could! When it doesn't rain, we have frost, which is cold and wet. That's why we love all the other seasons, but winter... (of course I speak only for myself...)
So glad to see that you made it through the night I Annesely was worried. Didn’t look like anything to eat but I just had something warm to drink. Always stay safe
Love your camping video. Reminds me of my stint at the Northern Warfare Training Center in Alaska back in the 80s. The snow cave takes time to construct, but well worth the effort. Retired from the US Army. Hand salute.
Ice camping is my favorite because it attracts eyes and soothing sounds
Excellent episode. Great shelter. Reminds me of my youth in New England.
Nice quinzhee! I love those uco lanterns. Great video 👍thank you!
Thanks Kettle Camping, I've been a fan of the Uco lanterns for over 10 years. Great piece of kit.
You mentioned the power of it. I live in south Louisiana. Spend a lot of time outdoors and can relate to embracing the storm. Nice vid Bro.👍
I used to love using this method as a child. That is a great small metal shovel u have for carving out the ceiling. I never spent the night in mine, but now I'm kinda jealous I didn't. Nice video man
I love snow but couldn’t take these brutal conditions. Too old for it now. Maybe if I was in a nice warm cabin lol. But it’s fun to watch. Thanks for taking us along!
Looks like fun but I've never experienced weather like this. I would freeze. Love watching videos
Brrrrr made me shiver. I couldn't be enclosedlike that, I d have worried snow fall over night might block the entrance. Thanks for sharing
I like storms, I like shelters from storms, I like knowing there's others like me. Great shelter and video, brother!
Now that looked like a good time out. Beautiful shelter!
I’m a Great Fool, myself !!!
- I absolutely enjoy
watching “snow camping ⛺️”!!!! 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥰💕⛺️
I love storms too, mother nature is amazing and awesome. You probably can't hear much outside when you're in there, can you? I imagine it's pretty soundproof. Enjoyed the video 👍
I'm not Mike - duh! haha - but me and friends built these as kids and yes, the soundproofing is AMAZING. Going from the outside to the inside feels like putting on ear protection in terms of sound change.
@@craigdavis9035 we don't get enough snow here in Tennessee to build something like that 🤣 but I have family in NY and visiting them in winter as a kid was always fun, sledding and snowball fights but I never got to try anything like this. I think I've gotten too claustrophobic as an adult to try it now 🤣🤣🤣
craig is right, it blocks out like 99% of the noise. Sandra was inside while we were building it and I was next to the shelter, I was basically screaming a question to her and she couldn't hear me.........at least that what she said. 😄
I love the winter/snow storms the best! It always look so beautiful!
You did a great job surviving through blizzard … we in Dubai have desert Al year long 😂 snow excites me too and I always wonder how is it like camping in snow and you got me the answer for that. Thank you Sir
Love that kind of weather you guys are awesome
Been a while since I've made a quinzhee! Great tip I learned watching an old tv show years ago about making them was cutting a bunch of small sticks about 1/4" to 1/2" thickness in diameter and you cut each of them to the same length as the thickness you want for your walls to be (say 8"-12"). Once you made your pile of snow and packed it all, you push these sticks into the snow pile flush all over pointing towards the "centre" of the pile. As you start to dig out your quinzhee, if you hit a stick along the way you start digging in a new direction and you won't accidently break though your walls and you ensure a good thickness to the wall as well. Cheers!
Well ….. that was quite the chilly one Mike. Can’t say as I blame Sandra for staying home. Thanks for sharing…. I’m still shivering 🥶!
Cheers Steve! I was only cold for a bit when snow melted through my gear. Once in the sleeping bag I was toasty.
Hail fellow Canuck! I just discovered your channel and thank you! This video reminds me of building something just like this as a child in Sudbury ON, although I never slept in such a thing HAHA! I too love this weather, it's so beautiful (and MEC rocks for all your out doors needs)!!!
Love to watch your videos before going to sleep 😀
You are a very brave man. I’ll faint if I had to go inside there. Cluster phobic 🤣🤣. My breathing was going fast watching this but managed to watch till end.
So peaceful.. new sub here. I don't know why but watching these videos makes me hungry lol. Brilliant camp
Very nice video about Winter Storm Camping in a Shelter made of Snow, video looked good.
That was a good old maritime snow storm.. well done
I love your snow shelter.if I was there ide stay in it too..awsome video
I have done this in northern Minnesota it was a little bit bigger shelter and the inside was built out of snow blocks like an igloo we had as kids in the early seventies a K-tel ice block maker ..it would make a snow block push it down pack it in and then turn it over and hand handle on the other side and out would slide your block we spent all week building this igloo then spent the weekend in it it snowed on us the second night but it wasn't a blizzard but we got a good 8 inches of snow overnight and had to kind of dig out the next morning all in all it was pretty fun
Excellent set up for your sleeping bag which I use in tent when there is a hint of cold temperatures
I Love The Way Your Effort To Out Snow In Snow Camping 🫶🏻😍
Love these quite video's. Thanks for the upload.
Finally a good channel with a guy who doesn't lie to get views. Thank you sir for being honest and the great video.
Great video, and thank you for your time.
I love that you use natural flame light instead of the the super bright artificial. Much better mood and ambiance
Your last video inspired me to build my own ironically enough I'm camping out tonight as I watch your video
Oh what fun, I've always loved the idea of an igloo or living underground, I'd feel really safe in that.
cool, calm, and serene calms the mind and soul
That's a new style of camping I'm not aware of that is really cool and better then normal camping. Weather is much more different in techniques to sustain stability
Ooowooo.......
Good video. Enjoyed it.
I thought I was the only one who liked storms and think that they are fun to camp out in ,
Your video is very interesting and entertaining. I always support you, thank you. ️😀
I love those uco lanterns. I just got my first single candle u o. Now that I see it can keep my coffee warm I want the bigger 3 candle model.
Brrrrrrr , sure looks cold out there ! Brave soul !
We had a freak winter storm in the Netherlands many years ago, reached -20C and was lots of snow. I convinced 2 other friends to help me shovel snow into a huge pile and then carved out a hole. Next day 2 more tagged along because they couldn't believe what we had done... was storm outside, but cozy inside. 3rd day storm was over and the iglo had yellow snow on the inside... some local dog no doubt haha
Nice shelter and video buddy ! that was quite the storm we got eh !! Another one on the way haha I like those candle lanterns, they look pretty nice ! Cheers !
The best video I have ever seen in this topic absolutely unique health and happiness to you
Hello, watch your clip and get excited. because the landscape in which I live has no snow I want to experience this kind of atmosphere, but it's probably not possible. I can only absorb the atmosphere from the clip 😊✌️👍
Hi Mike 🙋♀️...all I can say is that I was happy to know you had a good time in that cozy shelter but more importantly, you made it out safely! That was quite a storm to be on your own. Til next time! Cheers!
@@IamOutdoorsy looking forward to when the weather is more favorable for more of you & Sandra's video adventures, hopefully to include the trail cam! 🤗
Fantastic videography!
how cool much work .. but cool Well Done. Fun looking again :) Fun :)
At least I'm the only one that LOVES SNOW, EVER SINCE IT CALLED OFF SCHOOL THE FIRST DAY I'VE LOVED IT
Winter storm is fixin to hit here too.. They are forecasting snow and ice..we will see what it does.. people are just going crazy around here, like we have never had a winter storm before,, the stores are all packed.. wow!! Here in Oklahoma usa we won't get that much snow,, love watching these kind of videos. I see Sandra's not there,, I am not sure I would want to be out there either, miss her though.. You are one brave man.. and I love this video.. thanks for sharing.
I'm a tropical person, it's amazing for his life struggle in the north pole
may god bless him
Good one!
Thanks, Mike & take care...

i will look again us i wait for new :)
Hi from Syracuse NY USA everyone and thank you for sharing your thoughts and adventures
I find videos like this very intriguing.
Super Cool, looks like you had a great time. thanks for posting Mike! :{)
Hey Mike... Might be neat to see how long it can stay standing. I love seeing stuff like this. Thanks for the great content.
Thanks, Sadly 2 straight days of rain made it sag to the point where it's pretty much unusable....
I can't stop but thinking "so this is what The Long Dark is like in real life"
So beautiful
Looks so beautiful but it gives me anxiety just looking how small the entrance is!😳
Great video, what you go thru to keep your subscribers happy. Hope you have thawed out by now.
😄 Thanks Cool Grandma! Thawed enough to head out in the woods again tomorrow!!
이런 영상 좋다,,,,,추천 영상으로 우연히 보게 되었지만 힐링 된다♡
It never occurred to me that you have to leave holes for venting it only makes sense! It would be deadly not to. Thanks for the Video!
I did the Exact same thing once. Only snow didn't seem safe or sturdy so I used wood. The wood wasn't very warm so I insulated it with fiberglass. Then I didn't want to be breathing in the fibers so I covered it with some drywall. I was afraid the wood would get wet, so I put some vinyl on the sides and some felt paper and asphalt shingles on the top. Candle lanterns seemed like a waste of money so I just had some electric run to the shelter. It was still a bit chilly in the colder months, so I put in a 330 gallon propane tank and a furnace. Good times.
Hi i am indonesian. My daughter see this video and she said " Why in our city nothing snow mom? And then she cry.
Hi Yani Nii, Please tell your daughter that I said a really big THANK YOU for watching my video. I hope she liked it. Where I'm from, many people would prefer to be from a place that is too warm for snow. 🙂
So hello you two beautiful people from the warm county of the Philippines, I hope everything is well with you both! just missing your great videos... High Five's Mike and soft hugs Sondra
I want to commend you. You are one of the only guys on survival videos that used a bic lighter to start a fire.. Good job at being practical and smart.
wow very beautiful
Nice job! Thanks for your, Sir
🤝👍👍👍
Take your care 🙏
I love snow, I can’t take the heat.
Same
