The tougher part about planning to go to US is we have to write BOTH the exams. Next for MBBS Degree and USMLE (all steps) + USCEs + CV Building etc. for Residency in US. So it really doesn't matter which is tougher - we have to write both - both are difficult - and together they cost A SHIT LOT OF MONEY. It's scary harboring a dream with all these thoughts.
With 64.5 % reservations in neet PG, I'd say for unreserved candidates USMLE is a far safer bet. Rather than wasting 2-3 years in India and still no guarantee of getting a seat it's better to take 8 hour exams and spend the money if you can afford it. I'd take that any day over neet PG. If I didn't have a 3 year gap (thanks to the pipe dream of neet pg, that not only wasted my time but also broke my spirit) I would take Usmle today!
I have given both and done fairly well with 235 in step1 and AIR 998 in neet, and i can Hands down say I would never want to give an exam like NEET PG ever again 🙏🏻
Dr. Aditya, I really want to crib about this, but the seat matrix this time Is horrible! If you need to even do a branch like radio, derma or even medicine (forget delhi, I am talking about any decent institute without a caste certificate) you need a rank within 3k!! The situation is really horrible! Please make a video about this as well!
NEET PG pathway is the EASIEST because you just need to ace one exam and seat is guaranteed. USMLE and PLAB have multiple exams plus you have to really build your CV and have good interview skills too in order to stand a chance for residency.

Step 1 costs around 1150dollars including the extra amount if you give anywhere outside USA. I took it recently. Had cost me 99k INR to apply. Moreover registration which we have to do beforehand costs 150USD. I had to post the application through blue dart which costs 5k INR. Then i had to travel to a different city and stay there because of the center. Total cost of step 1 was actually around 1.5 lacs for me. Will be same for everyone.😊
I hope I can pass NCLEX I Don't haves a job,I am 36 years old all my dreams related to NCLEX,if I can choose between my life and NCLEX I would choose NCLEX
I failed my NCLEX exam 2 times first was 2020 second was 2021 and I lost money on review questions and also wasted a lot of time studying which never helped me .
NEETPG exam pattern needs to be revisited.. as 3 hour to test complete medical capabilities of any indicidual is too less.. instead it should be 45 mins each subject to thoroughly test the knowledge in each aspect and subject of medical.. before someone is selected for PG.. it severely impacts the quality of post mbbs.. 3 hours cant decide the medical capabilities of any dr
Aditya sir, I think you should tell people that Indian medical college graduates and students can't give usmle after 2023 due to ecfmg registration change

Sir, i would like to know about the pg course in surgery department in AIIMS. Is it good to opt surgery pg via inicet or taking surgery pg via neet pg??
There’s less hands on for JR, most people are patient and do cutting when they become SRs. That’s how AIIMS or any other big referral centre is when it comes to surgery. If you want more cutting early on, state colleges might be better. If you want to super- specialize, choose one of the bigger hospitals but don’t crib if don’t get hands on for the first few years.
