And then she left it unattended on a counter, thinking that the guard was supposed to pull out a crossbow and shoot the perp, saddle his horse and take her to his castle far, far away to live happily ever after? Upscale malls are not immune to criminal activity, and she was irresponsible.

Security guards aren't allowed to touch anyone. So yes they will stand there and let the thieves go. Not to mention they aren't going to risk ltheir lives for property or the stores for that matter really not worth it. High end does not mean you leave your purse laying around, thieves are every where.
I use a well worn crossbody bag. And shop in my finest Walmart outfits. No one seems to want to bother me. Dress down and enjoy life. Wear your oldest shoes.
That’s the thing, security at the stores aren’t allowed to do anything in that situation. All they’ll do is log what happens inside of a store and that’s it. Now if it was an actual police officer moonlighting in there, he or she might have been able to do more. Security is limited to what they can and can’t do.
even my purse is cheap no money inseie my purse i will never leave my purse while shopping, that’s stupid if u leave ur purse. U take care of ur own belongings.
She could’ve given her purse to her husband to hold especially if you’re carrying $11000 on your person. Or use a crossbody purse so you don’t have to put it down. We have options lady. Don’t blame the security guard. Even if he could help he’s got other things to watch out for
The guard is there for the purpose of looking like the store has protection - not to protect individuals in the store that leave their items completely unprotected. As frustrating as it may seem the guard was correct not to react. What if the guy pulled a gun or they stopped the wrong person. The woman could have avoided this by watching her belongings and not leaving the purse unattended
Actually not. The expensive store actually include the service that you should be able to shop inside with peace of mind. It is not exactly "public" area.
@@Slla-th5vt despite the air of exclusivity these luxury stores try to create, it is indeed a public area and should be treated as such. Anyone at any time can enter and they’re not running a background check on all customers. No matter how much these brands try to sell people on you’d be wise never to believe it’s safe or really even exclusive
The guard's responsibility is for the safety and protection of property/workers of the STORE, not it's customers and their personal belongings. That's what the police is for. If she needed protection, there's always hiring a bodyguard. Then again, if she had a bodyguard, she wouldn't be shopping there so.... Also, why are you carrying so many items worth so much when shopping?
It's not the guards job to stop people, they are contracted by store or mall management to observe and report literally that's it. I have worked security and if we did anything but that we would be held legally responsible for anything that happened afterwards and sued and fired..... Keep track of your stuff it's your fault
The woman left her purse unattended, she doesn’t have babysitter to protect her property! Next time think two times before unattended the purse, the society changed in the bad way
All high end stores at the mall i shop at has a rope and limited people can go in and out. We can't just go in and out or browse anymore. There's also law enforcement at the mall keeping an eye out. But i stopped carrying bags while shopping. I just have my car key on a lanyard around my neck with a credit card. That's all you need to shop. Leave your bags home. And please don't carry cash or debit cards!!!
Security guards are not police. They can’t chase a person or arrest a person, especially if they aren’t aware if that person stole something. This goes back to the Zimmerman case and shows why the police have to handle it not a security guard. The guard most likely didn’t see the purse stolen and I’m sure the guy was out the door before she noticed her purse missing. We can’t blame the security guard, it sounds like he did what he was told to do in those situations. My question is why in the hell would you put your purse down and not pay attention to it during Christmas season? That makes no sense.
Why do people always have to blame someone? It is absolutely unfortunate that your purse was stolen, but it's not the security guards' fault that there are shitty people that will do that. They are absolutely there as a visual deterrent not your own personal security.
I mean the security guard isn't even allow to stop theif stealing from the store that hire them. What makes this lady think they will do anything… Remember if you stop a thief from stealing and injury them the thief can sue you.
Same with police officers.....they do nothing to stop crime or apprehend anyone. I used to be supportive of police, but no longer. DEFUND ALL THE POLICE.
Why doesn't the news agencies give a description of the suspect? If people knew what he looks like maybe it would be easier to catch them. Or it just common knowledge that we know who to look out for?
You need to be responsible for your own property items , among us there are thief that want to steal or snatched purse thinking they will going to find cash
at first it might sound shocking but i've seen enough stories to know the guard almost surely would have been fired if he helped, and he know it. companies are not your "friends" but also, the laws certainly ensure they have the rules that they have. "deterrent" is not a deterrent if the criminal knows they're only there for looks.
You’re never safe no matter where you are. Keep your purse on you. High end store, to me, is where you would get the most - an expensive purse, money, jewelry, car. I wear a backpack purse and it’s always on me

Not to mention they aren't going to risk ltheir lives for property or the stores for that matter really not worth it.
High end does not mean you leave your purse laying around, thieves are every where.
They are hired by the store to protect the store, not the customers
Didn’t know that. I’ve seen security guards intervene and not get in trouble.
Security guards all over the country can’t do anything when it comes to thieves. The laws in the country protect them instead of the victims.
Who Leaves THEIR Purse Unattended In This Day And Age. Her Fault NOT Security Guard. She's A FOOL .
I wish we’d go back to teaching the Ten Commandments to our children.
I don’t even leave my purse in the cart at Publix. This world is too crazy and she was at Gucci?!?! WTF was she thinking!
Don’t shop when it’s crowded.
even my purse is cheap no money inseie my purse i will never leave my purse while shopping, that’s stupid if u leave ur purse. U take care of ur own belongings.
She could’ve given her purse to her husband to hold especially if you’re carrying $11000 on your person. Or use a crossbody purse so you don’t have to put it down. We have options lady. Don’t blame the security guard. Even if he could help he’s got other things to watch out for
Who carries 11k around??
Durin the holidays I carry a no name bag and never set it down.
The criminal was smarter than you
The guard is there for the purpose of looking like the store has protection - not to protect individuals in the store that leave their items completely unprotected.
Next time think two times before unattended the purse, the society changed in the bad way
Hello, you left your purse unattended??? You should have it on your shoulder at all times.
She won't show her face but, reveals her name 🙄 leaves purse unattended 🤔...very smart woman!
Why buy bags if you won't be carrying them?
just put your new clothes in your luxury bags at home@@Slla-th5vt
I'm sure they're not supposed to interact with the perpetrators.
You Help, You face prison, this is our today's society.
Security is there to peotect the stores inventory, not her purse
Security guards are not police. They can’t chase a person or arrest a person, especially if they aren’t aware if that person stole something. This goes back to the Zimmerman case and shows why the police have to handle it not a security guard. The guard most likely didn’t see the purse stolen and I’m sure the guy was out the door before she noticed her purse missing. We can’t blame the security guard, it sounds like he did what he was told to do in those situations. My question is why in the hell would you put your purse down and not pay attention to it during Christmas season? That makes no sense.
I saw many women leave their handbag on the shopping trolley without care while they shopping. that's the cause
It's her fault period.
Why do people always have to blame someone? It is absolutely unfortunate that your purse was stolen, but it's not the security guards' fault that there are shitty people that will do that. They are absolutely there as a visual deterrent not your own personal security.
The blame should go squarely on the thief! If it’s not yours, keep your hands to yourself.
Never set your purse down
I mean the security guard isn't even allow to stop theif stealing from the store that hire them. What makes this lady think they will do anything…
Remember if you stop a thief from stealing and injury them the thief can sue you.
It makes no sense to have a security guard.
Same with police officers.....they do nothing to stop crime or apprehend anyone. I used to be supportive of police, but no longer.
DEFUND ALL THE POLICE.
Trust me. The place that seems like the least amount of crime happens is where the most amount is happening. Pros vs amatures.
Why doesn't the news agencies give a description of the suspect? If people knew what he looks like maybe it would be easier to catch them. Or it just common knowledge that we know who to look out for?
You need to be responsible for your own property items , among us there are thief that want to steal or snatched purse thinking they will going to find cash
all i can say is thank goodness she didnt show her face because she wouldve made such a fool of herself even further i bet you
A FOOL is left with no money than a thief
at first it might sound shocking but i've seen enough stories to know the guard almost surely would have been fired if he helped, and he know it. companies are not your "friends" but also, the laws certainly ensure they have the rules that they have.
"deterrent" is not a deterrent if the criminal knows they're only there for looks.
The security guard is there to DETER theft not catch a thief. They can’t actually do anything physical or stop a theft in process
You get what you vote for!
Who carries 11,000 cash. Smh i got a debit card
i got robbed and assaulted inside my garage 2 weeks ago! inside my gated complex! i was held gun point and my belongings and car were stolen
Horrible! What state or city?
was this a mall security guard or gucci dressed in a suit? They did not specify.
You’re never safe no matter where you are. Keep your purse on you. High end store, to me, is where you would get the most - an expensive purse, money, jewelry, car. I wear a backpack purse and it’s always on me
Backpack purses aren't safe! In a crowd they cut the straps and snatch it. Consider turning it around and wearing it on your chest.
@@happycook6737 I’m talking about in basic life. I did that when I traveled abroad in high crime places. When I go to Walmart I’m not wearing my purse on the front. But I’m also never crazy to leave my purse sitting somewhere - the cart, table or chair.
