The opening song & scenes from Miami, Fl for this show warm my heart & take me directly back to the wonderful 80s with my lovely grandparents. The 80s for me was a safe & warm time & I would do anything to return to them. This show is like a time vessel. Such a brilliant show with brilliant actors.

I can’t believe I’ve reached their age now… I feel privileged to be able to actually see life as they did when they made this awesome sitcom. I now live in a senior community and we joke about who’s Rose, Blanche, and Dorothy and her mother. It gets pretty hysterical sometimes. ♥️
I love how GG is inspiring women aging. Older women, even old women, don’t have to be grandmotherly, matronly, subservient to men or society. It’s all about having fun with the people you love, simple as that ❤ My feeling is that the success of this show is directly related to how well written the characters are. They are so flawed, real, and lovable. There are times when I feel they could have been even more developed and allowed to be transformed and powerful in that respect. They preserve without ever truly compromising who they are, which is the buy in for me every time 👍🏻
Thank god they weren't "even more developed and allowed to be transformed and powerful" or instead of the loveable characters we still remember 40 years later, we would have gotten a bunch of hateful, run-of-the-mill 2020s boss babes
