@@ziwaldowhatever you plug the dock into is where the a50s are gonna be locked to. So if you have plugged into ps5 only ps5 audio plugged into pc only pc audio
@@okay5328 u have to buy a hdmi adapter and then just put the end of the hdmi into ur ps5 and the other one in the Adapter. then put another hdmi kabel into the headset Station and the other on in the adapter

Second the optical plug needs to be plug into the back of you tv to get the true sound and feeling of the built-in mix amp the Sony removed the optical port from the ps5 so if you tv or monitor has the optical port you want to plug it in there .

@@ИльяСамохин-ц6р because these were made for last gen consoles (that had an optical port) ps5 doesn't have one so you have to use adapters that range from $40-$100 if your tv doesnt have an optical port. it's just a waste of money you're better off getting a different headset or wait for the gen 5
Now the real question. Any way to adjust settings, such as sidetone level, without having a PC? Or how to get the dock to charge the headset when the PS5 is in rest mode? Despite all the settings for rest mode being correct to provide continuous USB power, the dock does not have any power unless my PS5 is actively on.

@@Pavelito-bl9lj nope it never fixed I assume it came broken after ordering off of Amazon this headset is the worst for console if your pc it works fine but on my ps5 it’s better to just stick to razor krakens or hyper x with wires
@@Pavelito-bl9lj possible they seem to come broken a lot I made the mistake of throwing away my box after getting them assuming they would work, So waste of 300$ but I would say there’s a pretty good chance they would work if they don’t work, then the Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma V2 come with a adapter so if that headset ever breaks at some point if you just buy any headset that’s cheap and plug them into that adapter the quality is 10x better and mic quality aswell
As someone else said you need the Astro audio extractor for ps5 from Astro to be on the safe side. Without going into the intricacies of the audio this will not work properly without the optical out (that the PS4 has) (thanks for cost cutting there Sony) That’s where the Astro audio extractor comes in. Astro have also put a video up showing how to accomplish this. I’d also recommend a usb hub for the back of your ps5 (because you will loose those ports otherwise) with at least 5 gig per second data transfer. The things we have to do to get round Sony’s blunders. Xbox series x however you don’t need this as it carry’s the audio differently
I just found out that you have to be careful with usb hubs on PlayStation 5 some hubs it just doesn’t like after spending a lot of money on a good quality one. Sony may have blocked hubs completely. All it does is change one USB port into 4. Where do Sony get their kicks in blocking that ? They only give you 3 usable ports in the first place and some things still have to go in the back. (I’m so glad I have a series x as well. You get none of this. 2 4tb drives running through a hub ? Yeah you can do that if you like)
My brother has the Xbox A50s but leaves the dock on PC mode, it works fine but I can hear all of his audio through his microphone some how? Even though it’s in his headphones and not the tv, game sounds menu sounds my own voice I can hear. Then we turn the input deduce to controller microphone and the problem goes away

Guys so this does work, if you want sound without being able to use the base station to edit game chat/regular chat then this is for you! BUT, If you want to use the a50’s to it’s full potential, use the Dolby surround sound setting and the actual presets on the headset you need an audio extractor. The sound, sounds way better when plugged in through optical cable/hdmi 2.1. Now the Astro adapter the company sells max’s out at 4K/60hz that’s an L for ps5 users. So you’d need to buy a $120 AVSTAR Audio extractor to achieve 4k/120hz while achieving the highest sound quality possible. Insane right?? I know it’s horrible these prices are crazy! I just wanted to spread some knowledge because I’m currently in this situation and just purchased the new extractor after wasting $50+ on the astro one after using this method shown in the video for some time now. Again, the method shown in the video isn’t bad and gives semi good results but for the price of $300+ for a headset your not achieving the sound quality you deserve by only using USB connectivity. The base station is useless with this method..

I don’t get it. What are you connecting for audio if you aren’t using the HDMI adapter kit? You can’t just plug in the USB to the PS5 and get audio.. there’s more to it..
This is fucking ridiculous why make it so difficult to hookup to a ps5 whenever every other headset has a dongle to connect with Bluetooth in like 2 mins

You can use a laptop to charge your headset (same wire as your controller) I charge while playing all the time

Yes, do that when you are using it. Since I made this video I have found that it makes talking to others better during games when you switch it.
You didn't switch the base from pv mode play station pc mode is for when you want to update the software on the base station and headphones
