Secretariat has spoiled me. Every time my doorbell rings now, I shout "WHO'S THAT AT THE DOOR?!?!?!" ...I'm disappointed every time... :(

What makes it so funny isn't just that it's a silly gag but that the comedic timing and mannerisms are actually really good. Whoever is inside there has some physical comedy chops.

Idk what I love more. The whole idea and premise being so stupid and silly and how they know that and embrace it to the point where it became one of this shows greatest characters. Either that, or the huge smile and pure happiness that Craig shows whenever Secretariat runs out. Him dancing always puts a smile on my face. He must've really loved these moments.

I have loved the entire series, from the very first Secretariat appearance on the show and would love for it to continue forever. Being a great fan of the original beloved Secretariat, I loved that Craig keeps bringing out his Secretariat for visits, and to this day every time that doorbell rings I spring to my feet to dance. I even set the music for my cell phone ringtone. Secretariat rules. Dance, horsey, Dance!
Craig Ferguson takes the rejected ideas from other late-night shows and then makes them awesome.

It's a sin Craig wasn't given Letterman's slot (oooh matron). Such a funny, warm, natural host. We miss you Craig. :-(
+Cloud Cuckoo Yeah, but he didn't want Letterman's slot. Like, at all. He quit of his own accord...CBS didn't push him out. I miss him too (and his new show Join or Die is not a good show by comparison). Even if he got tired of interviewing celebrities and doing Late Night schtick, he was good at it. But with Corden's ratings and critical praise, I don't think CBS is missing Craig at all. We're the only ones who are.
Corden's voice is annoying i'm sorry to say but it is.
Craig wanted the slot he was in. He didn't want anything to do with the polished, overly cleaned, boring, scripted, fake and unfunny classic late night programming.
You can see an evolution from when he started to when he ended in how he pushed the few boundaries that were still left on his timeslot. He reveled in the little freedom he had and did his best to expand that beyond what usual US Television programming allows.
I'm there... even now I turn these on and laugh!
As I understand it Craig was contracted as the replacement for Letterman, however, the network changed their mind at the last minute. Craig was paid out $12,000,000.00ish for breach of contract and was happy to stay on past his contracted period to allow CBS time to organise his replacement.

Totally Fab!!! I hadn't followed any TV until I discovered LLS about 2.5 years ago. I have not missed an episode (including reruns) since!I'm happy for Craig's career evolution, but so very sad that this truly unique thing is going to end!

I love this show.
Visually, Secretariat is awfully made, and has THE MOST insane looking dances, but it proves if you put heart into the character, it can wind up being an icon.

Thanks for all the comments everyone, glad you enjoyed watching it as much as I did making it. If you're wondering, Allie and I are still friends and she was actually married at the time this aired, so that's why it was so awkward, but we'll see what happens down the road ; )

Loved secretariat. Reminds me of the pantomime horse on an old Monty Python sketch. Still Ive watched every secretariat vid clip.

I'm crying, lmao, that was the funniest shit I've seen in a long fucking time -
this brought back memories of watching Secretariat at the Belmont stakes winning by 31 lengths. The most amazing horse race in history. Neck and neck with Sham on the backstretch. Then just takes off and the rest of the horses just fade away. 31 lengths; 2:24 flat. Record still stands 45 years later.

I loved when Secretariat first started appearing. I didn't hate it when he became a second co-host lol, but the dancing and song were awesome.
I feel sorry for celebrities that came on and didn't know the show. When Secretariat came out and Craig started weird dancing, they must have thought they had lost their mind.

They may be unknown by most (they don't even have photos on IMDb), but they were credited: Ryan McGowan and Joseph Bolter. IIRC, McGowan was the front end (which, yes, made Bolter a horse's @$$).
