I have a 1986 Maytag washer that was bought brand new. I am still using that washing machine and it still does a wonderful job. My agitator works more like the speed queen with a bit of a longer stroke. I've only had the water regulator replaced 2 years ago. The appliance tech that came to my house to fix it asked me if I knew the treasure I have in my garage....I told him yes, that's why I called you to fix it for me!!
These are two great washers. The Speed Queen would get a faster rollover due to long strokes or agitation arc which generates more current in the wash tub to move the pieces of clothing around. The Maytag has shorter aggressive agitation strokes that still move the clothing around, but the slow time it takes compared to the speed queen rollover is really obvious.
In my opinion, they were both slightly overloaded, but the orbital was definitely more overloaded than the speed queen plus I noticed that the orbital cannot handle a very large load. Again, my opinion, but long strokes will always do better than short strokes.
@@abrahamrecio7544 You did!! The tech that fixed my Maytag said the only other machine I might consider if my Maytag breaks should be a speed queen. He told me speed queen is laundromat tough , durable and reliable
Both use Wayyyyyyy too much water, and if that's hot water it's going to cost you more than the cost of the machine during ownership. Horizontal drums are the way to go, and they will get your clothes cleaner too
It's a washing machine basically you saying a washer shouldn't use water for my respective you are not a clean person at all what makes you think a washer shouldn't use a lot of water , that means you like dried on detergent and dirt that creates eczema and skin irritation, and bacteria top loaders are the best and you can't control that and you must work with the energy regulations
