Love love love GSP. Best dog I have ever had. Never crated, never did anything thing"bad" when left alone. I miss my buddy terribly. One day I'll get another.....
Get another one. i said when my first GSP diseased. "no more dogs" but it took 2 weeks and i got a new GSP, none of them took / takes food when left exposed. i can place BBQ on my dash in the car and dinner on the table for hours when left alone :) and never did bad things ,but begging if i hold some food ,i can`t prevent that :) .. They are a very clever breed ua-cam.com/video/okKgxbGEwaQ/v-deo.html
Had one for 13 years, truly the greatest dogs, king of dogs, but require a huge commitment and are high maintenance. After the one I had, it hurt so much to lose him, even though I had dogs before, now I can't seem to want another dog. Thanks though I recognize in your dog all the intelligence love and mischief that mine had.
i finally got another dog after losing our lab…we adopted a rescue from the shelter, never had this breed, not sure which is dominant but her build is gsp…she had the face. going to love this dog, enjoying learning more about them
I love German pointers I have one myself and on sat we are getting another one of the German pointers I’m so excited and this dog is the sweetest and so cute you have one amazing pet
So cute! I was terrified of dogs when i was younger because i got attacked when i was 4. But then my mom got married to my step dad who had a GSP names sissy. she was the first dog i really opened up around! She was soooo sweet and the best hunter. I only knew her for a few years before she passed but she was definitely an angel. Now i have Toby who is also a GSP. He’s a great dog too. Very smart! And very talented when it comes to hunting. it’s amazing.
he's stunning! wish mine hadn't had his tail docked. I have a 6 moth old, first time pointer owner.....Im glad ive had Heelers most of my life..i feel some what prepared for smarty pant shenanigans. thanks for the share.
Trust me, it's better they get docked. My friend's 5 mo old pup broke her tail playing inside and sprayed blood everywhere. It was super scary and traumatic. But the pups I've seen docked have been totally fine.

My one we rescued and he’s never been interested in anything but food and outside the house. He always looks so depressed because he was probably abused. He’s a good boy just needs some manners :)
Mine once stole a pumpkin role off the counter, I walked past the kitchen and just saw in eating so I had to pull him off it, we still ate the parts he didn’t get to.
Absolutely gorgeous. He is one of the most beautiful livers I have ever seen. My beautiful girl is 11 now. Would never crate my dogs. My dogs are too well trained to be cooped up
Lol - so cute. Looks very much like my dog, except mine is a GWP (with reeeaaally shitty fur - i.e. short, slick and people always think he's a GSP). Behaves like mine too. I laughed when I watched this, since I discovered just like an hour ago, that the cats' food was gone when I came back from the laundry room in the basement... Wonder who it was... -___- Except mine can't really be alone at all... I'm a dogsitter since many years back, so he basically hasn't been alone a day in his life. At least not after he went berserk a couple of times alone at my mom's... God they're smart... My beast stole bread buns from mom's kitchen counter - but he didn't eat them. He's a total squirrel. He stuffed them down her laundry room floordrain instead. -__- And shoved the lid back on... Mom found them several days later when the water wouldn't go down... I find his stashes of bones and toys here and there, very neatly tucked away and hidden. They're truly amazing dogs, not just as workers, but as friends and pets too, and I can't really picture myself having any other breed again. Or well, other ones as well, but I have to have a GP. Always.
Lol :D Mine thankfully hasn't chewed nor eaten stuff since he was a puppy, but I will never get over the loss of my brand new pair of really expensive Asics he ate when he was a youngster... -__- (Not to mention the back of my car when I was gone like tops 5-10 minutes...)
There are people out there that keep their GSP in the house all day which I do not understand. My 2 previous GSP destroyed my house when left inside for too long. I had to keep them outside in the backyard for most of the time because they get too excited inside the house. They are filled with energy.
I have a GSP/Labrador mix. Beautiful girl who inherited the slim figure and bigger ears from her dad (the GSP). She's very obedient, eager to learn and please and will do right about anything for a treat 😊 Very active, likes to run and jump but doesn't become hyper from a quiet day or two. She's turning 9 this summer but still looks and acts like a 3 y.o. 😅 Very goofy personality and wouldn't hurt a fly. She's not the bravest dog on earth, but I also picked her out from the litter, based on her being a bit more cautious with everything than the other pups ☺️
My pointer will completely destroy my house alon with my boxer they both have some severe sepeatuon anxiety now they go on their kennels before we leave the house
Strange. My GSP also had severe separation anxiety untill he was about 2 years old. It went away after we started bringing my girlfriend's labrador over during work days. Now I can even leave food and he wouldn't steal it. Miracles do exist!
What an adorable video! I recently got a Beagle and have learned so much about them. I created a UA-cam channel for her where I share what I’ve learned about Beagles and of course cute puppy videos of her too. I would love some support / feedback so please check it out.
what a sweetie.. i am on my second GSP now. (my first diseased 2 years ago) none of them takes food when food is left exposed. i can place BBQ on my dash in the car and dinner on the table for hours when left alone :) i never made an effort to prevent it as they never did try to do it ,but begging o yes if i hold it i can`t prevent that :) .. They don't bark from boredom like many dogs but definitely bark if an intruder or something out of the ordinary is detected. Plus barks when they are playing or having fun.
Both German shorthaired pointers that I had in the past never barked much. My last one never barked and my current one only barks if they think there’s an intruder.
@@peaceandlove5214 My GSP will bark when He's expressing his wants and needs or his opinion Also when someone unknown approaches the house, then, his bark is much larger than his size. He has also NEVER had an accident in the house, even being loose and alone in the house all day. I'm sure a GSP would make an excellent Therapy Dog.
Definitely not cool that the tail is not docked.. what in the world is going on with these breeders??? This needs to stop as this will ruin the breed for sure.. if you want a long tailed dog.. go get a MUTT at local dog pound AKA "Rescue"
thank you Morgan. Tail docking is mutilation and awful - banned in many countries. But then look at this strange practice of circumcizing baby boys in the U.S.! Horrific!
The tails are docked for function & it also looks very uniform & proportional for this sporting breed.. a long rat tail not only looks bad.. it's wagging intensity is a nuciance.. it is proven that tail dock does NOT hurt the dog or make they suffer in any way aslong as it done at the proper time when they are newly born.. why it is illegal in some countries only helps to define a globalist socialist society.. one that controls the people without freedom.. not cool!!!
Tail docking is painful Advocates of tail docking claim that it does not cause pain or discomfort, as the nervous system of puppies is not fully developed. This is not the case; the basic nervous system of a dog is fully developed at birth. Evidence indicates that puppies have similar, if not increased, sensitivity to pain as adult dogs. Docking a puppy's tail involves cutting through muscles, tendons, up to seven pairs of highly sensitive nerves and severing bone and cartilage connections. Tail docking is usually carried out without any anaesthesia. Puppies give repeated intense shrieking vocalisations the moment the tail is cut off and during stitching of the wound, indicating that they experience substantial pain. Inflammation and damage to the tissues also cause ongoing pain while the wound heals. All those awful "socialist" countries! Caring for the welfare of animals and their humans... @@jimducharme8563

My GSP is the sweetest girl in the world. Her tail is also in tact and the way she wags it when she is happy is the best thing.

Simple. The people I got him didn't Dock it and I really like that they didn't.

What do you think about GSD x Lab? Some people sell them online Im sure they are great companions,I saw the mix on you tube and I liked it.
