Actually one of the few bosses that CAN hit you through super sonic's invincibility. Took me quite a few lives to finally beat this boss as a kid. Most memorable game of the Genesis for me.
yeah, and even thought this is usually reserved for the most badass bosses, Knuckles randomly jumping from a hole in the opening cutscene can do the exact same thing. So it makes you think: Either Super Sonic's invincibility is kinda shitty in the most convinient moments or Knuckles is the extreme badass

@@isadorasv5 My guess is that since this takes place on Angel Island, the Master Emerald's resting place, and that Knuckles is the Emerald's guardian, he probably learned a thing or two about those gemstones throughout the years like maybe, tap into the Master Emerald just enough to disrupt any pesky intruders that uses the inferior chaos emeralds to barge in?

It's a glitch. Big Arm is not meant to hurt Super Sonic. When Big Arm hurts Super Sonic, the programming acts like it's hurting regular Sonic, even though that's not supposed to happen. Sonic 3 alone is released where some things still need to be patched. Sonic 3 & Knuckles patched all the glitches that needed fixing. That's why Super Knuckles fighting Big Arm patched correctly where Big Arm does not hurt Super Knuckles. Sonic Origins made that more clear that same happens with Sonic in Super form.

I think it's the death egg from the ending sonic 2 where the death egg explodes, there isn't any gravity in space so maybe a meteor hit the top and the death egg entered the atmosphere and crashed into hidden palace
Sometimes I wonder if the ending where sonic is just wagging his finger after destroying the death egg is supposed to be a cliffhanger. I can just imagine someone screaming “SONIC WHY TF ARE YOU CELEBRATING?!?! YOU’RE FALLING DOWN ON A PLATFORM THATLL LAND WHO KNOWS WHERE!!”
With the Sonic & Knuckles add-on, you only fight the first boss in this video with Sonic or Tails, whereas Knuckles fights the second one instead of the first. And the Death Egg falls back down on Angel Island, which sets it up directly to S&K and the full Sonic 3 story
Michael Jackson was involved in the Sonic 3 music department but sadly the serious allegation of child molestation in 1993 ended his involvement in Sonic 3 so there was some music rewrites but this one stayed.....only for Michael Jackson to use it for his Stranger in Moscow song years later...He wanted his limited involvement uncredited.
In actuality as per the anonymous person who stated discussing with PopFiction, that Michael stepped down from Sonic 3 before the allegations happened due to his dissatisfaction with how his songs in the game sounded. In short Brad Buxer was telling the truth which contradicted Roger Hector’s claims in a 2005 interview.

Then right at the end when you see Sonic and Tails at the logo, when you see it flash it should’ve said Part 2. Coming Soon. Imagine the excitement that would’ve caused at the time.
Fun Fact: Sonic 3 is the First half of the Game, and Sonic & Knuckles is the Second half of the Game, So If you Use the Lock on Technology from the Sonic & Knuckles Cartridge & Put on Sonic 3 then you will get the full half of the game
Good job, but why were you spin dashing into eggman? I may not have this game but I know its better to try and spin dash eggman unless you're super sonic by the way, the music for the final boss is awesome!!!

@masteruv Actually the Sonic 2 boss i found to be very simple but at the same time very very epic!!! :D All I had to do was keep out of his way while his walking about, wait for him to go in the air, make sure he lands on the far left side but quickly run back a bit, jump on his Mecha's head when it drops down a bit, run all the way to the other side to avoid him hitting me by shooting his spike arms and repeat the same process over again until he is down. Simple but very epic...! :D

I thought it was useless too, until the first time I had to defeat the Great Egg Robo, it was essential to use the insta shield to break his fingers. After this, I started to use the insta shield in every playthrough every time I can, and is pretty useful now for things that I never thought it could be before, like those blue flying ills from Angel Island when they are eletrifying themselves. As far as i remember, defeating Great Egg Robos's fingers with tails was pretty much hell without the insta shield after I learned its value.
