This scene shows what it is to be a real man (his sacrifice), and a real woman (not a material but a soul girl). That's why I think this is one of the most beautiful romantic scene ever.
I just wish it weren’t only the thing of movies 😞
@@irrealislifedon’t we all brother
it truly is, ive seen a lot of movies but this hit me so hard. i dont know why but i cried like a baby. what a wonderul story
Well said 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤❤❤
@@irrealislife💔💔💔💔
This movie both broke my heart and lifted me up. Cried like a baby during this scene
Totally agreed
Same lol
Movie is a reminder of what really matters in life, It came out at a good time, very well done, cried like a baby, like I told my wife my name would be Otto too...
الفيلم كله عظيم
What is the name of the movie?
The fact that even in old age, he can remember every word of the conversation he once had with her 😢
Of course! when you find your soul mate, you start living the best part of your life. Its part of core memory! :)
This is one of my favorite scenes of any movie
i agree
Nam of film
@@rachidbakssiss2431a man called otto
What a gentleman 👏 he was honest
Ive seen this movie so many times. I rememver first watching it and not believe how much he was like me.
I love how...in his ways he is because of his beliefs. And i love how some people can still see the good in him, and continue to associate with him, knowing he actually has a good heart, even when it doesnt seem like he does lol
Saw this great movie last night! Tom has done it again! Love it! I love that Sonya initiates dinner with Otto. Great cast all around! I hope Tom’s son Truman does more acting. He was charming in this movie!
Why tf am I crying? Am I happy? Am I sad? This is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in a long time.
Happening with me even 😊
It is very, very rare to meet this type of woman in our present time. To find a woman who accepts you with all your circumstances is something that almost does not exist in our current world.
So true
In 2023 it’s impossible… social media has ruined women. They have absurd expectations and are all mentally messed up.
Exactly if you wanna build something up with them and need their support then you are weak. You have to do everything as a man they will just wait in the finish line
It’s more difficult to find a man who would do anything to make a woman happy like de did
@@marianastrassburger5032 It seems that you did not watch the movie or that you did not focus on it. Sonya, when she got to know Otto, Otto did not do much for her, but rather she did it first. In our current time, it has become difficult for men to find him. Sonia accepted Otto even when he confessed to her that he does not work, but she admired his honesty and morals, and this is precisely the essence of love that a woman must have and not only look at his wealth or work, but the most important thing is his morals, kindness and honesty With her, what Otto did was that he was loyal to this woman, who he realizes that he rarely finds someone like her, so that he could not bear to live without her, so I say that it is difficult to find a woman like Sonia in our time.
Flowless scene. I like all the scenes with young Otto and Sonya, unfortunately all are very short. Truman Hanks played great: his eyes are full of love and express all his feelings to Sonya, do not need much physical acting in this scene.
scenes like this also remindsme of a time where my dad won't order food for him, and he would say to us he is full. When reality hits, you know you got one hell of a dad. I really hope i can tell my dad how awesome he is instead of sharing it in youtube.
It's okay if you struggle to do so.
It's not easy.
But it is possible!
Just don't force it and give yourself time.
But at the same time don't ignore it for so long!
To think of your life partner before you think of yourself … that’s true love 💯
Well said
Her "why" was somthing else
“why didnt you get an entree?” -- “i ate at home.” -- “why?” - “so you could order whatever you wanted.” 😭😭😭😭😭 maaaaaaan!!! 😪🥺 (& also realizing this happened to me….makes the scene hit even harder.)
This is how my future wife and I met. Similar situation. I had no job at the time and very little money, didn’t know what I was going to do. I still paid for the meal knowing damn well I was poor and I was honest about it. She still chose me. :)
I'm Swedish and have seen both the Swedish and U.S. adaption of the book. This scene is almost identical in the Swedish movie when it comes to dialogue. I have to say that although the American film left out important parts of the story and changed some, this scene works about 10x better in the American version. In the Swedish version there is no music to enhance the experience and young Otto (Ove) comes of as much more of a detached, awkward person. Truman Hanks really brings the character to life.
I cry like a baby every time I watch the scenes where Otto met Sonya and this one in particular and I don't cry easily. It's just so damn perfect, probably the most romantic scene in any movie.
Real love will never be about money remember that
This just one of the most beautiful movies in a long long time!
Everything I see this scene I have tears in my eyes.
This scene (and song) brings me to tears every time I see (hear) it. When I first met my spouse, I had the opportunity to lie about something deeply personal (which I had always done), but instead, I took a chance and told the truth. In that moment I was convinced I'd be rejected, but instead I was met with love and acceptance. That moment changed my life forever. To this day, our marriage is solid because we "tell the whole truth." This scene perfectly illustrates the preciousness of honesty at all costs in a relationship.
That Man Can Do Anything In His Life ....... go Tom Hanks
Let's say we continue the scene after the kiss. What do you think Sonya would do to her plate of food? Sit down and share the food with young Otto? Leave the food uneaten and leave the restaurant for a secluded spot in the city? Or Sonya insists Otto share the food but he refuses and says he is not hungry because he has already eaten? And so, Sonya continues eating...
She offers it, but I think he declines, and she is blunt with him-she’s obviously interested in him . She feels something about him and she pushes him to be more open and inviting. He isn’t a loser. That’s when he figures out he could get a degree in mechanical engineering.
There is just a simple romance to this that words cannot explain - just a boy who wants the best for a girl.
That moment i cried
The original movie A Man Called Ove had a nice scene showing his relationship with his Dad. Both movies were great.
This scene broke me. Made the movie.
Edit: No movie scene has ever broke me like this one. I have watched this movie at least 50 times, just to watch this scene. 😅😢
He was still gonna leave her with the bill. He ain’t slick😂 great scene tho
He is paying
The restaurant started clapping lmaooo. This couldn’t be further from reality. 9/10 women these days would’ve told the guy he was broke and never talked to him again
Hopefully you’ll find that 1 out of 10, buddy. Keep your chin up and keep at it
Me dejó un nudo en la garganta esta película 😢
Sabes como se llama esa cancion?
This has the same energy of UP’s opening scene
This is the best clip of a movie I've ever seen 😭😭
i promise i'll not cry but i lied 🥲🥲😭😭
It’s so pure and romantic that it hurts.
Helluva scene. Great movie.
She appreciates what he has done and loves him for his heart and not his money.
Saw it yesterday for the first time. So many outstanding performances through the years by Tom Hanks; This was one of his best! I will recommend this movie to everyone.❤😂😊
Most romantic scene ever.❤
I cried
I was ugly crying after i watched the movie😢 gives me lot of realizations 😢😢u deserve an oscar for this Tom Hanks
Love like this is really hard to find right? Guess what girls of this modern era will say to a guy like this.Simply will label as a weirdo

I'm still crying
Young Otto was great for this movie
one of the better scenes ever in movies
My eyes are swollen from crying i miss the feeling of being inlove ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Same here :)
ฉากนี้โรแมนติกมาก ครบทุกอารมณ์ ❤❤
From an introverts perspective it gives hope to those Like me who are introverted and socially awkward. Look at this guy Otto, there is no chance In the universe, In real life he would get a woman like sonia. Yet he did, From then on he wanted to make sure she never regretted that choice. It's just sad that women like that don't exist In this day and age anymore. Sonia played that I can change you game. Any woman Willing to play that game deserves to be given the world.
記憶對一個著重感覺的人是何等重要😢
Why would he not cast his son Colin? An actually actor that ACTUALLY looks like him…
Because Colin is in his mid-forties, and too old to play "young" Otto. I thought the same thing at first, but feel that Truman pulled it off here. You can still see a resemblance.
just seeing this makes me think wow, girls aren't anywhere near this kind these days. I could get laughed at and walked out on
Something that would never happen in real life🤣🤣
Maybe it's just me, but as a man, I would hope that woman don't see this movie as romantic but instead as a cautionary flag about manhood and purpose in life. It's hard not knowing what to do. Strange economic times for men.
Train ticket, $1.50, dinner that she's late for, about $10
Who sings this song
David Hodges - Til You're Home
Yeah that's not what happens when you tell a girl you don't have a job or an outlook. Classic example of why listening to the advice of movies is a bad idea.

My husband's favorite.
Soundtrack song please...?
Sacrificing for some other worthy person is always the right thing to do
She’s so adorable
“and then everybody clapped” ahh scene
I laughed when people started clapping 😂
Wait so that is a younger version of Otto or is it his son?
Why is there so much steam at the railway station? It was a steam locomotive when Otto was a young man?
@singapaul1 Probably. I remember the occasional steam train passing through when I was young in the early 1960s.
He was trying to commit suicide and the scene was simulating the exhaust fumes in the car.
Ah yes. Make sense. TQ @@BruceHWolk
what name the song?
Wait what is he doing in the car?
Whats the song?
As single it breaks my heart knowing that kind of date would end completely different in today's world 😔😔😔
Only in movies
This kid playing young Mr. Otto makes me think of Mr. Roboto and isn't he Tom Hank's son right? He was really nice to her though, and she is an example of the kind of girl every man should date. One that doesn't think that she is too good to be with a guy that is tight on money. She appreciated his kindness and understands that things will improve. Most girls would have the attitude of - hair flip, "I ain't dating no broke dude", as they bounce from guy to guy - deservedly so.
when can i get a full movue
Netflix
watch closely: from "why didn't you get an entree " to "why" . . . . the facial expression, how her lips lightly moved and then how her head titled . . . pure acting. . . legend
This movie hit me right in the feels. I remember being broke and worked my ass off so my wife and kids would never have to want for anything.
Who sings this? It's perfect. It's making me not breath and I have a bump in my throat as big as a Pine Tree.
This indeed can only happen in that era when people were true and pure, life has ended long time ago, but peps still pretends anyways it’s all be over soon
I honestly think Colin Hanks should've played young Otto. I understand Rita wanting her own son to star in it though.
😢 hits too close to home, great scene.
I watch this movie once a year..I cry every time..I will never get over this loss..I was blessed to have him in my life for only 12 years..in my heart❤ forever
I due ragazzi sono bellissimi... e sapere come va il film, mi rende triste... ❤
Aww lawwwwwd! 5 secs in here I am running across a YT short of the dinner scene and I f'd around and landed here and I'm already trying to find the damn person who chopping onions in my room. Dang man not the hose in the exhaust... Now I feel like I need to watch this movie to understand why he was trying to un-alive himself in the car now
He was trying to skip out on the bill at the end and stick her with it the second that date took a wrong turn in his eyes.
Is that Syd from Legion?
You should activate your Windows mate
Where can I find a woman like this? Such in our time is too difficult to find these days...I'd spend the rest of my whole life for her too if she did that
I've watched this twenty times. My favorite part is at the beginning when he says, "You're 15 minutes late." And she replies, "Am I?" sounding amazed and amused. A sweet scene.
And making this scene a flashback memory as he is attempting suicide, what a brilliant touch. Feeling he has nothing left to live for, he remembers when he did.
I just couldn't see Tom Hanks act like this but I LOVED IT! I cried so much when I watched this. They couldn't have found a more adorable young Otto and Sonja. I would give anything to have someone love me like he loved her. I'm 55. I lost my 13 yr old son to death when he was 13 in 2003. I'm divorced and I'll never find my Otto.
So sorry to hear that. We only have memories after all, to warm our hearts ❤
Almost 44, without a love of my life and without kids. Still hoping that miracles exist.
Women like this don’t exist anymore 😂😂😂😂
No they don't
Wish a standalone movie of atto and Sonia comes out
That's rizz on another level. lol
Excellent film
Simp
Won’t happen
That ia a real man.
If people were this compassionate towards each other then dating would be allot easier
Je peux avoir le titre de la chanson
This was a beautiful scene and a beautiful movie.
