I lived in Lviv for 7 years and rarely had a bad day. I walked to and from work every day (one hour each way) and it never got old. But for anybody looking for a city where you sort of get to be a big fish in a smallish pond, I recommend Ivano-Frankivsk. No real expat community to speak of, but lots of cute girls who are eager to practice their English.

You’ve literally shown all my favorite places in Lviv! Greetings from Truskavets, another cozy town, you can visit it one day, it’s actually quite close to Lviv:)
Hi there Oleksandra! I'm thinking of travelling to Lviv in the next two weeks.. could you please confirm whether people are still out having fun (i know theres 10pm restrictions) and any evidence that the country could get into full lockdown any time soon? :D
@@antoinearden2127 hi! Yes, people are having fun, but of course not same as it was before corona, and yes, total lockdown will be from 8th to 24th of January after our Christmas. At least that’s what government says at this moment:) Btw, Lviv is particularly beautiful during winter))
This is a very nice and light video about Lviv. The city was under Poland for 400+ years, and under Austria for less than 100 years... But one still feels a heavy influence of the latter))).... You've said that it is a special city in Ukraine, and maybe in Eastern Europe-that's great!. Your Ukrainian is ok (Solomia, the teacher, is great!)
Wow! What a beautiful city a Lviv is!You are not only the Pickup Artist of those Eastern-European regions(Ukraine, Russia and Belarus) but also the well known tourist guide for foreigners as well! Keep it up.
My ethnic German Grandparents left there in 1904 for Canada, when it was part of the Austria-Hungarian Empire before WW1. I believe it was also known as Lemberg to the Germans back then. Would like to visit some day.
I love Lviv and Ukraine! Beautiful city! It feels incredible to walk around and see incredible buildings. Highly recommend visiting. Ukraine is very inexpensive for those of us who come from US.
Conner is a rare example of what you can have in this world by taking risks and going out there and exploring. He is part of the 1 percent who makes things happen and isnt home on the couch wishing he had a cutie on his arm.
Mentioning coffee, the introduction of coffee to the Austrian Empire and one of the first café in Vienna was opened by a Ukrainian from the Lviv region Yuriy Kulchytsky (Jerzy Kulczycki). Maybe that's one of the reasons why it's so popular in Lviv.
They have a lot of infections in Ukraine too but most people don't wear masks and/or practice social distance. You don't want to end at a hospital in Ukraine after experiencing one in US. I have been in Lviv! It is amazing!
@@DC-rh3ix To me this whole thing is way overblown. Call me crazy, but random lockdowns every other weekend don't do shit but engender some mystery cult where everybody seems content with the 'new normal' because they go along with it. 9 months ago it was about flattening a curve; now it's about, "Hey, wanna have a lockdown this weekend? Yeah it'll be fun!"
@@nicoz7662 Interesting. I see your point of view. This has been poorly handled unfortunately by our officials. They have not much too lose. They have great health access and keep getting paid. On the other hand .... Anyways, check Ukraine. It is a jewel and very accessible to us.
Ukraine is amazing! Safe, clean, our dollar gets you so much compare to France and other "popular" cities in EU. Highly recommend Ukraine! The food is incredible. Barcelona has amazing food but Ukraine's cuisine is so delicious at another level. Check it out!
@@jayalexander121 Absolutely!! I am not surprised. I am glad that you also had a similar experience. It is great to hear and at the same time I don't want to ruin incredible Ukraine. Barcelona is amazing so going to Ukraine afterwards and having fun, it is really hard to find/get. Ukraine is totally safe, clean, great people, great culture, tons of history. I want to spend more time in Ukraine. Thanks for sharing!!
Chernivtsi is smaller, but is even more charming than Lviv. You should definetly do a video on that city. Kolomya and Ivano-Frankivsk are two other gorgeous towns that bear the markings of Austro-Hungarian empire, with fine architecture and cool atmosphere.
Interesting videos and definitely a lot of good insights into dating culture and relationships. But one thing I don't agree with is this generalisation that when a "typical" Ukrainian girl has a problem she is looking for a husband to solve it. Maybe, that is true for some girls (definitely the ones who are looking for foreign guys, will be like that), but if I were to make a generalisation about Ukrainian women I'd say it's actually the opposite. They are more than capable to take care of themselves and the family if necessary. At least that's what I see in all-Ukrainian families. But that's just my experience.
@@ConorClyneNewEurope We, Ukrainians, love to use that trope too :) It could also be the case that girls in the south-east just want to "look" like that, but when shit hits the fan, they will get through it :) I think in general Ukrainian women are good survivors. I'd love them to learn a little bit more about how to follow their own interests and passions.
Conor, please make a video about virginity, religion, Christian values this kind of stuff, not everybody wants to find a girl in a nightclub, this kind of upsets me. Honestly I really doubt I'd marry a girl I met at a bar or a nightclub, this is the worst place to meet a decent girl in my opinion. It's a huge NO for me, this kind of girls I can easily get here in my country if I want so it makes no sense for me to travel to the other side of the world to meet the same type of girl, I couldn't care less about them. Just a suggestion, ask women the age they lost their virginity, if they value that or not, what they think about saving for marriage, religion. It would be interesting to hear from Belarussian, Ukrainian and Russian girls.
Also I find Lviv girls more with intelligent facial expressions than rest of the Ukraine. This is the only city where Zelenskiy lost. Very different mentality and people.
As usual I have several things to say...by now you have become accustomed. First, when you are walking and talking both you and Angela are in the frame...I suggest only Angela and maybe you as a kind of narrator :)....she's a vision. Secondly, I guess, counselor, you know that when a man does a kind deed like carry a coat for a woman even though she can do it herself, then both benefit as the woman's estrogen levels rise and the man's testosterone as well...we all know where that will lead. DO NOT RESIST success. Third, there was a moment when Angela said that you drank a lot the night before. we both know that to imply an Irishman drank too much might be true relative to all other humans (except we Slavs), but is an impossibility with the Irish...Irishmen....Fourth, I certainly wish both of you, Merry Christmas, it was an interesting and well edited video.
