If you're getting a lot of slag and spatter with flux then you don't have the machine set in reverse polarity. Flux core is welded in DC electrode Negative meaning you have to put your grounding clamp in the positive connection and your mig gun positive wire to the negative connection

How many amps is your 110 breaker, and if you know it, what gauge wire? I don't have 220 either. I contacted Yeswelder about the service requirements. For 110, they said they recommended a 45 amp service! Geez! Way more than my 15 amp residential breaker and wiring. Basically, according to them, might as well install 220 30 amp using 10/2 wire, since 110 would require 8/2 and a new breaker anyway! Doesn't sound reasonable, but that is the email I got.
I’m not seeing a chain on that gas bottle. If it tips over and knocks off the regulator or valve, it will take off like a rocket and take out the wall of your garage. Maybe even kill somebody. Please install a safety chain to hold it upright before you have regrets.
If you pre heat that plate your welding on it will weld way better the plate is to cold and thick so the weld isn't getting much penetrartion cause the plate is to cold

Another couple questions, do you know the material thickness range of this welder? I cant find much of anything on its minimum weldable thickness, or its maximum thickness capacity. I was mainly wondering, assuming your running mig with gas, if it can match the titanium or omnipro's 24ga to 3/8 inch. It’s still a great welder but 1/4” is about it’s limit and even that it struggles. The yes welder handles that no problem. So far I really like this welder I think it’s amazing for the price.
Try practicing pushing your welds instead of pulling them.. it will get better penetration.. looks like a decent home unit for sure for the money.. I am a fabricator, welder and I work with guys who have been welding 30 years that can't weld that good.. your on a good track

Pushing led to a less rounded looking weld. Pulling is a lot easier for me to see. I still need to practice pushing. Thanks for the advice!
Pushing definately should provide a better penetration because more heat is involved for longer time. You preheat the metal getting close to where metal is deposited then you weld and then you push the power back over the weld. Should be deeper. Say, you ever have success with helium and tig DC? Helium is like $200 a bottle where I am.
Thorny Turtle Ranch from the tests I saw weld.com do with a full analysis they were close to the same but pulling had slightly more penetration. I’ve never tried tig only been slowly teaching myself to weld with mig

WV591 it wasn’t all from one pass. Really not much at all. I’ve done flux with this welder too and got tons of splatter. It could be my settings. I’m still new to this.
@@TheBeardedJeeper in no time you will be showing others how to weld. keep it up. it's fun.
WV591 it is fun. I really love welding. Getting better and better with each weld. Thank you
@@TheBeardedJeeper watch all Steve Bleile videos. there none better....
WV591 thanks I’ll have to check them out
Have you used the tig option,
Luke Barrientos I have not. I’ve never tig welded before. Once I get mig down I’ll try it
Your wire is upside down bro it needs to come in the bottom of the roll
Travis Muckelvane yeah someone else pointed that out too got it fixed. Thanks for watching
My bad dude I didn't even read all the other comments lol never will put it in like that again lol BONDMETAL
Wish I'd seen your video before I bought mine a week ago!
James Middleton did you buy one of these or a different welder?
@@TheBeardedJeeper I bought this one. Just off product reviews alone.
Decided to check videos of it in action, found this video and subscribed.
Amazon has a 10% off coupon right on the product price to click for savings at checkout.
If I had seen this video I would've used your code instead.
@@JamesMiddletonIV awesome hope the welder works great for you it has been working really well for me so far. Also thank you so much for subscribing I really appreciate it!
@@TheBeardedJeeper If it works like everybody says it does, then it will be fine.
I'm a novice welder myself, so the price was good.
Also, thanks for the content, I've ticked the bell so I'll get notified when you upload.
Take care.
James Middleton nice beginner welder here too. Let me know if I can help at all. Thank you again for subscribing
They bought you.
How did they buy me? This is my honest opinion I’m still using this welder and it works great. They sent me the welder for free but didn’t influence my review at all. If I don’t like a product I will say I don’t like it. I’m still new to welding but this has continued to work for me
Hi there I’m really tinkling in getting this welder my only question is how about aluminum can you make a video about it thanks
From what I’ve learned aluminum must be tig welded. I have to get a tig torch for it then I can try it out
I wouldn't try aluminum with this welder.
@@jakecivis7402 why not?
@@TheBeardedJeeper aluminum should be welded using AC, this welder can only do DC. So you can tig steel no problem but aluminum wouldn't work well with this particular machine (as far as I know)
@@deancoreschi8484 gotcha I didn’t know that. I’m still learning thanks for the tips
Not bad for 110v
It’s both 110 and 220. I gotta get wired up for 220
Where is the TIG review
Richard it will be coming eventually I’m trying to get proficient with mig first. I’ve never done tig so I want to learn some before I just give a review
Welding is a whole lot of fun 😉🙌
Yes it is! I had to stop myself while shooting the video I wanted to keep welding and learning how to get better!
Bro your roll of wire is on wrong bahahahah
Did anyone mention to you that you need to feed the wire from the bottom?🤪
Your running your wire spool up side down. Turn it with the label of the spool to the inside of the welder with the wire coming from the down side not the top side. Good luck and injoy welding.
ronald burns thank you for watching. And you are like the 10th person telling me that haha 😂 I’ve switched it now didn’t really notice a difference but at least it won’t get bound up. Thanks again
That thumbnail 👌👌
Thanks for all the help bro you really know your stuff.
thanks, looks good
If you have any questions let me know
Your wire roll is upside down. The wire feed should come from the bottom.
Deno Andrews you are probably the 100h person to point that out lol all fixed now. Thanks for watching
@@TheBeardedJeeper Sorry, I didn't read the other comments. I just saw something that could cause you problems and replied.
Yea you really are a novice. The blue and red brands have a combined voltage/wire speed control, not a separate wire speed feed. Wishing for something that doesn’t exist. Nor is needed.
Thats what I said in the video I’m still new. And I’ve looked at the Miller and they have a voltage and wire feed speed separate
How can I get. A free welder.
Jose Peralta well this wasn’t exactly free. Making a video and editing it and promoting it all takes time and effort. Yeah it may not have cost me anything for the welder but I have built a personal brand and I want to help companies promote their products and to help others make informed choices on what stuff to buy.
Practice
Wakil Orokunle yes indeed practice practice practice
