Have been using it since 2001 and love it.
My dad, 75, also uses it and was complemented by his female doctor when he went for his monthly checkup. When he took his shirt off, she immediately said she loved the smell of his cologne.
I see nothing wrong of being reminded of eralier days. I still love this one even though I don't wear it often. It will always be in my collection.
Man, I break this out every winter and pump on a bunch of sprays, without fail people always ask me what I'm wearing. I think this one really shines in the heavy cold when your body is pumping out the Heat under a jacket. The pine and the spices really jump out. A decent designer scent. I have a large collection and still use this. It is unique and has a great fresh smell. It’s pretty much a timeless classic
First got this one in 1998. Have a couple of vintage bottles from 1998 and 2001 in my collection that still smell great to this day.

Wow. I haven't worn that since '97/'98. I had the cologne and the body oil. Then in '99 there was a new cologne called 212 and then that became my go-to. But I still remember the Hugo to this day

It doesn't matter to anyone if you don't like it. You have a different nose so does the others. So those who love it will love it. You should go buy some girly men's colognes selling these days and enjoy. Definition of masculinity changed over years and i can see that in todays perfumes.
I just want this fragrance, but the new version is diffierent and i dont smell the pine, the balsamic minty part of the fragrance. What can i do now to smell like that version😫
Was never a fan but it was very popular in the 90s.
It was in 1995..one of the popular frag at that time..it is called hugo man..check out the extreme version..

Yes it's been reformulated a few times. I have an original pre 2001 formulation bottle here. Same as i owned in 1998. It's exquisite compared to later formulations.
@@OldSchoolVibes1978 it has undoubtedly been reformulated. I went through a bottle in the late 90's and not long ago found a pre-1999 bottle, but was broken at baggage claim. I've also smelled a bottle from the late 2000's and a couple from more recent years (the last 3-5). The one from the late 2000's smelled different than my pre-99 bottles and the more recent release (without the box around Hugo) smelled different from both. The original company name on the bottom label of the bottles was Eurocos (a division of Proctor & Gamble). That's what's on my bottle. In 1999, P&G changed the name from Eurocos to P&G Prestige Beaute. This is what was on the bottom of the bottle post '99 and how you would be able to somewhat distinguish if you have an earlier "vintage" version ('95-'99) or after (up until the logo change on the front of the bottle). Again, I suspect there have been more than one reformulation with this along the way.
Also, Hugo Man Extreme is a pretty good representation of how the original vintage version smells. In fact, it sort of modernizes it a bit and smooths some things out. At any rate, it's a much closer version of the original than the current Hugo Man. If you'd be willing to sell a decant I'd very much be interested or a vintage trade.
