    questions that any ordinary person should raise: Russia left Bucha on March 30th and the mayor of Bucha claimed it a victory on March 31st, the next day the ukrainian army entered Bucha, WHY this massacre was not disclosed until April 3rd?
    2- Why would Russia kill all these civilians and leave their bodies on the streets and then withdraw from Bucha leaving such an evidence? this does not make any sense knowing that the whole world's eyes are fixated on Ukraine awaiting for such a massacre to occur?
    3- Why were the bodies spread all over the city? if Russia wants to execute civilians it was easier for them to gather them in one spot and shoot them.
    4-Why the UK refused Russia's request for the UN security council to convene?

    • @javierititin
      @javierititin 2 роки тому +32

      Answers:
      1) It was disclosed even earlier than march 31st in an interview by an italian magazine. But since the magazine lists no source for said interview, the next best thing is a statement by Taras Shapravsky, the secretary of the Bucha City Council on march 31st, posted talking about the bodies even before the mayor's announcement.

    • @javierititin
      @javierititin 2 роки тому +22

      2) Mixture or frustration and keeping civilians in line. The russians genuinely thought they were going to take Kiev very early and that the ukrainians would just die from admiration at the sight of them. Turns out the civilians fought back about as much as the army. Because of this there weren't enough supplies to keep the civs in line AND encircle Kiev, especially since the original blitzkrieg had already stretched their supply lines thin. In order to ensure they wouldn't be sabotaged, they left the bodies of people they killed there as a very helpful and present reminder to people of what would happen if they interfered.

    • @javierititin
      @javierititin 2 роки тому +21

      3) Because they're not equally spread out all over the city.

    • @javierititin
      @javierititin 2 роки тому +17

      4) Because the UK wanted to investigate first, as they knew that since Russia made this crime they could pull evidence that the prosecution could not.

The fact that vast swathes of humankind are incapable of nuanced thought is exactly the reason we get into these messes in the first place. My original comment only served to highlight the ludicrous title of ‘Fact Check’, on an article providing little in the way of factual evidence, presented by a person who doesn’t look as if he has spent a day on the ground in Ukraine, experiencing first hand what is happening (indeed in could be wrong), yet with a clear agenda to spin and promote a certain narrative. The way to find out what happened is an investigation by 3rd party. There’s circumstantial evidence that it was not Russian soldiers who committed this war crime so it’s important that we acknowledge that we don’t know and it deserves investigation. Some civilians were surely killed by the shelling between Russia and Ukraine in that area, both sides would’ve likely killed civilians, though Ukrainian shelling would’ve been incoming to this area as Russia was the one occupying bucha. Those are horrific but not technically war crimes. Then when it comes to the torture and execution of civilians, we’ve seen many videos of Ukraine forces committing the exact same crimes against Russian soldiers near bucha, just days before, but also similar crimes against pow’s and Ukrainian civilians across the country throughout this war and against other ukrainians in the east for the last 8 yrs. Also, the executed civilians were wearing, or tied up with, the white bands of fabric that are used to signal “Russian friendly” during the conflict. The day before the announcement of the bucha crimes, Ukrainian state police instead of announcing bucha war crimes, announced on social media that the Russians left so they will now seek out Russian collaborators left over in bucha. That white fabric around civilians arms would not be a welcomed statement. The day before this, the bucha mayor made a video from bucha to announce the Russians left and claimed a Ukrainian victory in bucha, without any mention of a horrific mass crime scene that would’ve been around him. The satellite images provided are not dated and there should be distinction between those killed by shelling vs by execution. And if you think about it, what would Russians gain with this crime, and leaving it for the world to make them out as mass war criminals, vs Ukraine gaining billions in further military and monetary international support. Just saying we can’t simply rush to judge based on the side we think is good or bad. Facts matter.
    It’s possible it was Russian soldiers but it’s far from obvious, if you know the facts. Twice Russia requested U.N. meeting and investigation and was vetoed twice by the UK. Why would UK do that? Without a true investigation, we’ll never know the truth. Very unfortunate

    • @urrywest
      @urrywest 2 роки тому

      I am not sure it matters what happened anymore.... They are doing the typical 'can you prove russia didn't do it?' Technicque...
      When they start making possible allogations and ask people to prove them wrong, it seems like the facts don't matter anymore. They have done this with the most outlandish allogations imaginable.... The technique is this: they make a claim that is outlandish, they back up that claim with a bombarment of factual statments, some of wich are clearly true and others that are clearly fabricated, if some of those claims are adjacent to the allogation, they keep on saying that they are proof that the allogation is true because it is adjacent to the allogation.

      Turkish newspaper “Aydınlık” published an article about Bucha. The material analyses the events that took place at the end of March - beginning of April and establishes the following chronology:
      On March 30, 2022, units of the Russian Armed Forces left Bucha (a day after the negotiations in Istanbul).
      03/31/2022 - information about the withdrawal of Russian troops was confirmed by the mayor of Buchi, smiling in the video and talking about victory.
      On April 1, 2022, Ukrainian formations entered the city.
      Until April 3, Ukrainian media did not report any corpses on the streets and did not publish photographs of them.
      On April 3, 2022, locals began to claim that the city streets were full of corpses of civilians and mass graves had been discovered.
      According to the Turkish publication, the situation in Bucha was staged by the West to increase pressure on Moscow. The implementation of the “project” followed a well-known scenario: photographs, headlines in Western media, accusations from Zelensky, Western leaders one after another condemning the Russian Federation, new sanctions, expulsion of Russian diplomats.
      Attempts by the Russian Federation to convey information through the UN Security Council were suppressed by the British. Statements by Russian diplomats were suppressed by Western authorities or presented in a different context. In addition, newspaper columnist Tevfik Kadan announced that the date of shooting of Maxar satellite images was manipulated, based on which the NYT accused Russia. NYT journalists claimed that civilians, at least 11 people, were killed three weeks before the withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces, that is, from March 9 to 11. However, the Maxar satellite at that time was in a completely different place and flew over the specified region on February 28 and April 1. In addition, meteorological data from the SunCalc program (angle of the Sun above the horizon, shadows, etc.) confirms that the NYT satellite image was taken at 11:57 GMT on April 1. That is, 2 days after the withdrawal of units of the Russian Armed Forces from Bucha.

    see how the car has to maneuver because the victims are so close to the road. Do you really think if the russians are so brutal they will do it too? I think they'll just drive straight over it. And we would have seen very different picture. There have been so many Russians in other cities. Why a massacre only now. Because Ukraine is losing and needs more guns. In Europe arms supply is discussed critically. So that Europe makes the decision quickly, the brutal attacks on civilians are quickly staged. Or you can do it yourself and blame the Russians. Nobody will believe them anyway, because everyone hates Russians now.

      @@ewalker1057 I edited my reply, I meant March 28th and wrote February. But no it wouldn't be from March 28th, even earlier, at latest March 25th. If you look at the satellite images you can see it's particularly sunny, but if you look at historic weather in Bucha you'll find that the last sunny day in Bucha before the publication of the NYT article with the satellite images (april 4th) was on March 25th. Also worth noting, March 19th was a sunny afternoon, further legitimizing the claims that they were taken at that date.
      As for cleansing, it seems more likely that the russian army simply looted everything in that area. While not all of bucha was pillaged, some of it was and the russians didn't care for all the lives they took.
      Also no, interacting with the russian military in occupied territory and accepting rations from them is not a crime, publishing russian slogans will get you detention for 30 days and painting military targets for them to bomb will land you in jail or have you killed depending on the severity. THE HISTORY AND THE DECISIOINS !!!!!!
      I WANTED NOT TO IGNORE FOR AN ENNTH TIME A DETAIL OF NOT A LITTLE CONCERN THAT HISTORY TEACHES US !!!!
      Bucha recalls the fact "The massacre in the forest of KATYN" in April 1943 by the Germans.
      The German occupation troops claimed to have discovered a huge mass grave in Soviet territory in which the bodies of about 4500 Polish officers already prisoners of the Russians were buried.
      The propagandists of the axis were offered the possibility of creating a FRACTURE (AS IT HAPPENED TODAY) in the allied front. And they succeeded in full, because the Soviets, faced with the evidence, reacted angrily, accusing the Germans of the slaughter. (HOW IT HAPPENED TODAY)
      But the clumsy and evasive way in which they excused themselves only served to embarrass the allies and aggravate suspicions.
      It seemed evident that it had been the Russians.
      When the war was over, the whole question of liability was prudently dismissed during Nuremberg, so for more than 20 years it continued to be a puzzling problem JUST BECAUSE NO INQUIRIES WERE DONE.
      Two writers, one English and one Soviet, offered two contrasting versions of the fact in the 1970s.
      It was proved that it was the Germans who committed the massacre by blaming the Soviets WITH EVIDENCE IN HAND (THE RED CROSS FOUND IN THE SKULLS OF KILLED POLISH SOLDIERS, GERMAN BULLETS) .... although the western one might seem a much more 'convincing.
      This version, which lasted over the years, until today, changed its version several times ... again and again.
      Papers, admissions of guilt and overturns of the case with counter overturns, etc., turned up.
      What HISTORY TEACHES is THAT if a serious and impartial commission does not come into play, one cannot argue beyond the fact that it would remain a ghost story.
      Bucha like Katyn could end up the same way and thus go unpunished.
      It is certainly important to clarify with an external commission created by neutral countries as soon as possible.
      BECAUSE?
      The effect it has had in the world, as now on the axis, is today a source of important government DECISIONS and is a source of direct and indirect separations on the people.
      INCREDIBLE that history repeats itself and that foolish man does not understand.
      Thanks

    The mayor of Bucha appeared on TV shortly after Russian troops undertook a tactical withdrawal from the area, and he was outwardly jubilant, exclaiming that "Ukrainian forces had liberated Bucha", but never mentioning scores of bodies lying out in the open on the streets, because there weren't yet any bodies, otherwise there is simply no way that it would not have gone completely unmentioned at the time. Subsequently Ukranian security forces arrived in town within a day or two, announcing online that they would be hunting in the area for "Russian collaborators". Next thing you know, pictures and video mysteriously emerge of dead bodies scattered about on roadways. One thing the bodies had in common in photos of the crime scene was that they were almost all either wearing white armbands, or their hands were bound or they were blindfolded with remnants of white cloth, presumably also white armbands. It happens that Russian troops had instructed civilians in the area who were not hostile to Russian troops to signal as much by wearing white armbands. Russians had been providing civilians in the area with food and/or rations. Suspect homes were searched and anyone caught with Russian army rations in their possession was considered a "Russian collaborator". The above information is factual. Draw your own conclusions.

Azov fighters deliberately placed heavy artillery in the residential quarters. Their snipers occupied private apartments by force and held residents as hostages.

But more and more testimonials from civilians said Ukraine military uses civilian infrastructure for military purposes with is a war crime and makes civilian infrastructure a legitimate target.

    First my grandpa is from Kiev escaped to west during Russian control. So what I explain is to help better understanding to those unfamiliar with arm band practice that affects the conclusion and thus de-escalate provocative blaming.
    2:07 The evidence of who is responsible for Bucha civilians killed in street is visible at 2:07. White armband clearly is seen around the arm of the person laying dead in the street.
    You do not include close up video of any other of the several individuals left out on the street, but they also had white armbands on their arm except two who had it as a white armband tying their hands together behind their back and they were shot in the back of the head.
    You can see from other videos on the Internet of people in donetz who want to tell the Russians that they’re not a problem that they support the Russians is they wear a white armband. In Ukrainian controlled areas, they use yellow armband To demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine.
    Others sources indicate that a national guard of Ukraine posting prior to these revelations was they will go into the bucha area to clean out collaborators and saboteurs who many are suspected to be Russian troops dressed as civilians.
    Thus It shouldn’t surprise us what it appears to be the true cause of the killings. Now it may actually be within the laws of war to kill troops dressed as civilians wearing white armbands who you can use that as proof they are collaborators and saboteurs. So I’m not saying that the Ukrainians did something necessarily wrong. My grandpa is from Kyiv, so I say this to promote peace - it may not necessarily be the Russians fault as everybody presupposes.

      Dear Sir,
      Your grandpa escaped to the west during Soviet control, not Russia's one. Since that time the country has changed dramatically. Communism has not been in power in Russia for 30 years by now and both political and economical systems there are the same as those in the west for the mentioned period of time. If you don’t understand this ‘little difference then your analysis does not make sense. I myself escaped that country in 1995 then I came back after 20 year absence and I saw it was quite different country. Please, do your homework firs before posting your comments.

      The problem is that we can find 100 people that will admit to it , and the people that are already excusing those they support will say they were paid or coerced or that they were never there. But the video is nearly impossible to deny once it is independently verified. I was not at all shocked at war crimes as every army has people that snap and do them , but the extent , and the fact they did this to little old ladies , kids etc....I am surprised they did not kill all the animals, but have been too much effort. Thanks for the post that someone confessed !

      Anyone can be on this social network, including people interested in juggling the facts. It may not even be a soldier and not a Russian at all. Even I can write that I was there and throw a few photos from the Internet. I don't believe in this, because whoever confesses this will simply be killed by the authorities or put in prison forever. Russia doesn't need that kind of brutal footage, so the Russians wouldn't do this in Bucha and leave it like this for the media to see. This is a shot in the foot. It looks like a provocation on the part of Ukraine to ask for more weapons. Or they were mercenaries from other countries who are fighting on the side of Ukraine and do not obey any laws.

      There is a video on the channel of the well-known Ukrainian nationalist "Bosun" where during the "liberation" of Bucha they give the order to "shoot at everyone who does not have blue armbands"
      As for me, this is a direct proof of the guilt of the Ukrainian army.
      I might doubt this if it was some kind of anonymous account, but here we are dealing with a verified account that was often referred to by Western media before. And what you write about, any student can stand for 10 minutes.

That means they can type in whatever date they want. I am not saying DW is lying, but there is possibility that the fact check is not genuine. Regardless of what anyone thinks, it is somewhat comforting to see actual fact checking and serious investigative work being done. The level of atrocities seen right now is honestly something I used to strongly believe to be in the worlds of fiction and history. There are many video games that give a narrative about war crimes and atrocities. But seeing what is happening in Ukraine is honestly something I thought were possible in video games and movies. Because in those settings, all bodies were nothing but props and pixels. Instead, I now realize that the creative minds behind such impressive narratives are just the same sort of mind, but unhinged and released into our world. I am dreading the future. Because what's happening in Ukraine now will sow the seeds of future acts of anger, hate and even more death.
