- Straight through the Quad Cortex wit a little bit compression.
No EQ.
No plugins in Logic.
All tracks are normalized and same level.
I love them equally :-)
Sadowsky with blue label strings.
Stenback with dead Fodera strings.
de Gier with new Dunlop strings.
Fodera with elixir superlights.
Sadowsky just kills it .... killer groove
That Fodera sounds amazing, and I always love the sound of a Sadowsky - your playing is something else tho, so precise and tight 🔥 it’s a joy to listen to
Thanks again 😊
I didn't know what bass was for in a band. With you I understood it! Thank you. I like your rhythms so much.
Hands down the Sadowsky sounds the best!
Great playing!! Hard to choose but love the Sadowsky and Fodera. They all sound great!
Damn! The Sadowsky 100% beautiful tone and looks! Great video. Thanks now I want a 5 string Jazz Sadowsky.
Awesome playing! All sounds great
they are all awesome basses but you have mastered finger tone! great playing!
Wonderful playing...wonderful touch!
Thank you! 😊🙏🏽
As always you are the best 👍🧿 - Bass Sadowsky
Absolutely great playing, really cool time and pocket! 👍👍👍👌👌👌✌️✌️✌️✌️
Thanks 😊🙏🏽
Amazing. Thanks. Wish you success
Tremendo sonido y Best groove
as a Sadowsky and Fodera user, I like the Stenback the most! great mid range and very tight sound.
Awesomeness right there ❤they all sound great, but I bet a Sire or whatever would sound similarly good with your playing 🎉love the soloing at the end 😊
Thanks Kai! 😊🙏🏽
Wow.....all sound great but I really like the sound of the Stenback, so solid.
Yes the Stenback is my favourite bass ever!
I like the sound of the Sadowsky
I'm going with Sadowsky and Fodera 👌🏿
Very good Bass playing and comparison 👌🏿
Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿🖤
sweet set of axes. nice playing
I love your finger moving!!!
I love effiency
Excelente músico, felicidades!!!
Wow, that Sadowsky sounds and looks amazing. Fodera and de Gier too. I think the Stenbeck maybe for some other song, ballad?
Very cool. The Sadowsky sounds like a 70s pickup position, love the mids (Fodera also nice mid-forward tone) . The Steinbeck has a nice low-mid punch. The de girr? was very balanced overall.
Fijne basjes stuk voor stuk. Maar die Stenback is wel heel erg fijn. So smoothly
First of all let me say your bass playing is absolutely world class. In regard to the basses they are all stunning instruments and they sound fabulous. The Sadowsky however has a little more presence and growl, as well as a killer finish.
Thank you 🙏🏽
They all sound good, but I particularly liked the de Gier and Fodera.
Geweldig Rogier!! Maak niet uit wat voor bas!! You're One of those Bad Cats!!
Dankjewel 🙏🏽
All of them have such different & great characteristics but for me the Sadowsky stole the show on this tune.
Sadowsky is the best!
Stenback!!!! After that the sadowsky (which sounds a bit sweeter), but the stenback is tight!
sadowsky & fodera for my tasty
really great playin..👍👍👏
Thanks Hanno!😊
great playing 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 🙏🏽
listening to this again a bit later I must say all sound great but that German sadowsky sounds like a Fenderbass to me here and therefore its my fave of the bunch, nice one, great sounding playing :)) then again the Stenback makes it sound a bit more like Jamiroquai, super nice tone ::)
Thanks Kai! After that clip I put elixirs on the Sadowsky. Wrong decision, doesn’t match. With Sadowsky strings it’s on its best. Same goes for the Fodera. I’m done with elixirs for now. The Stenback sounds like a 66 jazz. Love that. Thanks 😊👍🏽
You‘d be sounding great on a bathtub-stick! Awesome as always. I still prefer the Sadowsky and then the DeGier. Greetz!!
Thanks Marius! I see that you’re into Sadowsky too. Great basses and they sit nice in a mix. De Gier is very nice too indeed, a great Bstring. 😊🙏🏽
Sadowsky wins on that shootout! Great playing as always!
yes, the sadowsky...
I prefer the Sadowsky, I’m lucky enough to own both a Sadowsky NYC and a Fodera imperial elite 5, I love them both ❤️
Great playing sir 👍
Rooog!! 😎Killing it as always!!
What a grooooove!!
Sadowsky wins... no doubt.. and De Gier for sure!!
Mark!😊🙏🏽
Super für lange Fahrten 🚗🚗🚗🚗
Looks like the Sadowsky has got more sub
I really like the De Gier 🙌🏻🎶
Indeed I have a bit of low end in it from the internal pre. 😊👌🏾
Every bass sound brilliant, but that de Gier is lovely!
Surprised by the Fodera which sounded very nasal to me. My favourite was the Sadowsky (confession time, I have 2007 Sadowsky NYC 5 string in trans black over quilted maple with chrome hardware and ebony fingerboard. I use Sadowsky Black Label nickel strings)) with the Stenback a very close second.
Fodera imperial mg5❤❤❤
They all had fantastic sounds, but the Stenback stood out to me a little more than the rest. I like the overall sound and how the volume of the different strings is balanced. Nice playing also sir. :)
Great playing and loved hearing your basses together! Any recommendations how to get ahold of the Lundgren pickups and/or Stenback bridge? Sander is building me a 4 string bass and I'm thinking same customizations as you. We got the same Stenback pickups but not those nice flush mount pickup covers. Many thanks.
Thanks! 😊.
Sander will be able to order the Lundgren pups.
The Stenback bridge will be impossible.
I would get sander’s vintage bridges, not massive ones.
I had sawosky knobs, magnetic backplate en lollipop tuners.
Good luck!
@@Roogbass thank you for the info! Did you delete the fat boost as well?
@@jonnovak7921 yes, only passive, just a paper in oil capacitor on the tone pot
@@Roogbass got it. Thanks again. I really wanted a Stenback but almost impossible to find so trying to get as close as I can. Also, olease keep sharing your playing is superb!
No 1🙋♂️Sadowsky🔥
No 2 Fodera
Love this, amazing basses all around but I'd pick the Sadowsky and Stenback. Are you playing the Elixir 40-125 nickel set on the Fodera? One of my absolute favorite string sets but I can't find them for sale since before the pandemic. Are they still sold in Europe?
Indeed 40-125. I checked Thomann. Not available. I hope they’ll return.
If there was anyone who ever doubted Jazz over Precision and 5 over 4 String ... just watch this AWESOME video
De Gier ! :)
Great playing as always. In this case, I prefer the Sadowsky, then the Stenback. But all of them sound great. How does the playability compare?
They all play easy, de Gier might be the easiest player.
impossible to choose!! but for now i would say de gier/sadowsky/fodera
Your feel on the Sadowsky seems to be marginally more in the pocket , although your playing sound great on all basses - the attack on the sadowsky seems a touch quicker and more pleasing to my ears .
Are you seeerious? This dude has ocean-deep pockets!!!! :-))))
@@hahabass yes , hence me saying his playing sounds great on all the basses - nothing sounds good if it’s not sitting . I simply feel that the sadowsky recording feels more even to my ears and I’m splitting hairs here . It’s only my opinion though 🤷♂️
I like the Sadowsky best. I think that bass has the 60s pickup position, right? I have a Moon JB5 that sounds very similar. I get lots of compliments on the sound of that bass and it should be my favorite. But it isn't. Because I like Marcus I have been gravitating towards the 70 position J basses. But lately I'm starting to realize that the 60s position is better for many things. Except for slapping.
Yep, 60ies is very versatile. I also do like the slapsound. But slapping on a 70ies configuration is special!
Nice basses! Witch one cuts thought best on stage? Nice playing btw :)
I never checked them side to side on stage because I always take 1 bass to a gig. And I take my time to choose which one. These all work great in every situation. But out of experience I can say that Sadowskys always cut through.
Wow! A good instrument always helps but your technique is out of this world!!!!
Stenback is for my ears the best overall.
The de gier is bebop or bebop classic? What pickups does it have?
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Yes to my ears to. The bepop has lundgren pups and a Stenback bridge. Had it made like that. Great bass but I traded it for another bass. From these 4 the only one I kept is the Stenback.
Where did you manage to get the Stenback bridge? 😅
@@mechatron7 I got is with my stenback. It’s 19mm, the one on it is 20mm.
Thank you for the responses !
Sadowky
Fantastic playing! Which model and wood is the Sadowsky?
Thanks, it’s a German masterbuilt limited edition. Swampash maple.
the Sadowsky has the most of the original jazz bass tone - but the differences are tiny
It’s all in the hands… you would sound the same on a €150 Cort 💪
Thanks 🙏🏽
Simandl technique :)
And I never played upright 😉
What was that fill at 01:45 : )
Just a pentatonic descend I made up on the spot.
What pickups does the Sadowsky have? Single coils or Humbuckers?
Hum cancelling it says in the booklet.
Maar welke is nu jouw favoriet tussen deze 4 juweeltjes?
Ik vind ze alle 4 te gek. Hangt echt van het moment, mijn stemming en de muziek af.
Grabado directo a la apogee duet+mic ?
No, I think Quad Cortex-> Logic.
Que precio utilizas
Not for sale.
Taste can be very personal, and all your basses sounds are excellent, but, maybe for the song, especially, I prefer the Sadowsky sound.
Now. I'm in my transisition time of bass sounds preferance :) because, few months ago, maybe I'd choose the sound of your white bass
I have the same change of taste. Then I like one bass for a while then another. That’s why I had more than 120 basses 🤪
You are lucky.. if I have the money, I will do the same 🤣
@@mojito6629 only have 8 left, covid, no gigs….you get it 🤷🏼♂️
Stenback Wins
Ik kan echt niet kiezen!!! Maar ja… een hark kun jij nog te gek laten klinken…🤣👊🏾
