When the servers shut down they should an update to the game to grant all multiplayer trophies automatically when the game starts, or when you've got all the offline trophies.
This is why I hate online trophies make the plat as hard or easy as you like, just not online because it makes it less accessible and you know severs will eventually shutdown

many people would agree if online trophies are in a game they deserve there own seperate set as trophies in a sub category so in case servers ever do get shutdown those online trophies are in there own category making plats still obtainable even 500 years from now but they never do sadly and we are stuck with unobtaible plats. another thing they could do but probably wont is if servers get shutdown why not just simply do a trophy patch to remove those online trophies off the list. then next time you boot up game you just get the platinum to pop up automatically if you already got all other trophies. there are ways to do things. they just wont do it

Online Trophies Sucks, It’s my #1 Most hated Category for Trophies for many Reasons:
1.Theres rarely no one to play with
2.If you have a PS4 or PS5, It Requires PS+
3. The Most that everyone hates is whenever the Servers Shut down and the Trophies including its platinum are no longer obtainable.
The Only Platinum that I’m Seriously Struggling on is The Last of Us Remastered because of the Annoying trophy that requires you to get the populace to 40 and The One got Completing 84 Matches Each for Both Firefly & Hunter.
Did Anyone Play Mag before the Servers died 10 years ago in January, 2014? Now it sucks that The Game Is Still Dead to this Day
Max Payne 3 is also another Example of Having Not just Online Trophies, it also has a Mode Called New York Min Hardcore where you have to beat the game in 1 sitting while beating the time, Its a Permadeath Time-Trial Mode where you need A Strong Memory of where every enemies are are at and if you die or when the time runs out, Its Game Over and you have to start from the beginning. But still, Max Payne 3 Platinum is Unobtainable.

I don't mind multiplayer trophies because i like playing competitive multiplayer. It sucks though when the multiplayer is dead on arrival or barely played by other people. Servers shutting down on beloved multiplayer games sucks too. What i disdain though, are overly grindy multiplayer trophies. 😂
Ohh man if you were on my friend list I would of helped you on last of us multiplayer absolutely loved that game it was so fun I helped out some people a couple of years back cus they were so fearful of the multiplayer and we smashed it all though at that point we were facing mostly level 999 people was a struggle but we got there

This just further proves that online trophies shouldn’t count towards the platinum. There have been many games I wanted to platinum but because of online trophies I didn’t/couldn’t
I have the Mad Max Platinum and achieved it two days before they shut the servers, it was stressful but I am proud to have it, and sad that many players lost out.
When i was a teenager i absolutely CONSUMED Resistance 2, to this day it’s still my favourite and proudest platinum.
Oh... I almost bricked my pants when you said the last of us severs shut down... to only find it was the ps3 version, lol. Also there is a Petition online to have the Mad Max trophy fixed so if anybody wants the platinum fixed please help! I mean if Warner Bros can get devs to fix the Shadow Of Mordor Platinum then they can get the other group of Devs to fix Mad Max? I live in hope anyway, lol.
Outside of unobtainable platinum trophies, the 2nd worst feeling are the obtainable ones you leave on the table for one reason or another and either take a while to go back to or never go back to.

I feel like if a game is closing down servers and has multiplayer trophies they should release a final patch that unlocks all server related trophies
Or like they did with Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor, they changed the requirements in a final patch so the trophies are obtainable offline
I don’t think that’s a good idea cause that would defeat the purpose of the trophies and be unfair to the ones that actually got them legitimately.
The most heartbreaking for me is Arkham Origins. I have all the other Arkham platinums except this one because of the servers shutting down. I have all the singleplayer trophies as well. If only they had separated the multiplayer trophies to their own list.
100% in TLOU on PS4 is very long and hard, but I finally got mine platinum.
It was the online that was the slog and certain checkpoints on hardest difficulty
This is why i always prioritize the online trophies if i play a game that has it, as you never know when a server will inevitably close.
That mad max game - Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor had a similar trophy, but thankfully they patched that before they closed the servers so that the platinum would also be available. Not aware of many other games, if any, that have also done that, but would be interesting to see how many ever did.
Would be interesting! Wish I did more of those online trophies when I was just starting out. I have a ton of unfinished games on my profile

What disappoints me is the fact that every Little Big Planet game no longer has their servers, and that was because of people hacking the servers to target people. Those servers would have probably lasted much longer if people didn't ruin the experience for others. They tried saving it with LBP3 by porting everything over to it on PS4, but ultimately that wasn't enough... Sony missed out on making a LBP4 with stronger servers to keep the history going, and the community made levels forever immortalized.
There will always be people that want to spoil something nice for other people. Some humans are just dicks in life.
I'm glad to have LBP Karting platinum that game was a lot of fun and underrated
This is why I love what Ghost of Tsushima does. Online trophies are a completely different list, need them for 100% but not for the platinum. I feel like that’s definitely fair.
A lot of these definitely hit me in the gut but the biggest one has to be Little Big Planet.
What I wouldn't give to have LBP & LBP2 up, running and thriving again!:') (and to be able to platinum of course)

Sadly didn't get resistance 2's because a bunch of the trophies bugged on me.
Glad i got Mad Max's during the pandemic lockdown. Bought the game day 1 but it took me a long time to get around to playing it.

Resistance 2, i remember sometime in 2009 onwards i played multi with a friends console, it was a very fun multiplayer mode simple amazing, unfortunately before then I'd went for a Xbox 360 to play oblivion, dead rising, Halo, stuff like that, the red ring of death cost me a pretty penny, as such i wasn't able to get a Ps3 until 2015-2016 well after the servers shut down, i remember buying it, loading it up expecting Multiplayer to only be greeted that the servers no longer exist.
This would be a lesson I'd learnt to take any game with multi to prioritise those trophies, as such i do have the og last of us plat before the servers got filled with exceptionally skilled players.
Been meaning to pick up Nathan Drake (mostly played tomb raider instead) sad to hear servers are down.
nearly gave me a heart attack for the last one. thought black ops 2 servers were shutdown. was planning on revisiting it again sometime soon even though hackers invaded the game like no tomorrow. thankfully it was only league play and not the entire game as a whole
Online trophies suck for platinum should be seperate say like plat but not 100 % like when they updated online trophys on a update of a game

Marvel Heroes Omega is one of the only games I can think of having the plat for before server closure. Albeit that was an online only game.

That happened to me in far cry 4 but thank god they fixed the online servers
The one that really bugs me is Mass Effect 3 (Original PS3 version) I platinumed 1 and 2, but when it came to the third game I waited too long to actually bother trophy hunting it and now I'm stuck in the situation where my EA Origin account was deleted, so my PS3 copy of the game refuses to connect to online servers. and the only trophy I need is Defender which requires me to play multiplayer matches. EA strikes again.

Online trophy sucks but in some game you can't have them for the platinum,i just hate when a game that focus on singleplayer put online trophy,for example asssassins creed... plus this is when a company don't care about their community,cause some games had online trophy to get platinum but cause of server shut down they change it and it required you only singleplayer trophy,i remember cause i did one or two
I'm pretty proud of getting the plats in AC:B and Rev., Killzone 3, all 5 Uncharted games, Portal 2, BF:BC 2. Currently working on finishing my backlog of old games esp. online mode in BF 3, CoD BO, already did Bioshock 2 lvl. 50, Call of Juarez BiB, Singularity. I did manage to beat Army of Two 2's campaign on hard though😮.

Off topic question: what if I started a platinum in a ps4, got let say 30% of the trophy list completed, and now I own a ps5. Do I have to start all over again? Trophies already completed get transferred? Does this creates a second trophy list?
Depends on the game. If the same version of the PS4 game is playable on the ps5, then it should be same trophy list.
For example, MW3 2023. PS4 edition available on both ps4 and ps5. So I would think trophies would carry over
But if you download the ps5 version, then they wouldn’t carry over

If you have thrill seeker, then you should be able to finish the platinum. You can do the co op trophy offline. Nice on the bad company 2 plat!

Basically trophy hunters aren't even gamers (i am not talking to you specially) :
- refuse to play games with online trophies required
- Buy the same game twice (PS4 and PS5), platinum the game on PS4 then tranfer the saves on PS5 for easy platinum. Why can't you platinum both versions separately ?
- Mostly play on easy difficulty to go fast. If they play on the hardest, they will lower the difficulty later
- Refuse to take hard platinum for some reasons
- Always watch guides, never play the game naturally (to plat the game in one go)
As a guy with 10 plat (most of them in the hardest difficulty), i recommend trophy hunters to just quit bcz you just play for trophies, not the game itself. This is what i am feeling right now at least.

At this point why not make online trophies a micro transaction since players are paying extra for Privilege of online anyway. Maybe when the PS6 comes out at $2000.00 they can raise the price of online play for the Essential tier subscription with a recurring fee of $159.99 charged automatically every 12 months.
People will pay PS5 Pro at Around $1000.00 if you want the full product so why not keep price going up. Games have gotten so much better with the ability for a day one patch we have not had any broken games at launch. It is so much better than PS 2 and older games when you got broken games at launch that need years to fix or change later to live services games. We gamers have the industry as we want it.

Many people CHOOSE to be bald because it's such a good look. Secondly, even for people who don't choose it, there's nothing wrong with it. It happens and it's out of people's hands.
I wouldn't say it's the best game ever made (better games have been made since then after all), but it is still a masterpiece and remains one of Naughty Dog's best games (which is saying something considering their catalogue).
And sure, it does take a while for the action to pick up, but boy is it fun when it does.
