- It's a myth that 4C hair is difficult to get bone straight and here's the PROOF. In this video, I'll show you the step-by-step process of how my Dominican hairstylist named Marta, gets my hair bone straight. Best of all, my hair reverts back EVERY SINGLE TIME.. That is unless I deliberately get a treatment that softens up my curls for up to 6 months.

Hi Loves! Watch this video in 1080HD+ for the best visual & audio quality ♡
I MISS my Dominican blowouts. Usually didn’t get a flat iron and it would last just as long
You’re so lucky 😩 In order for mine to be silky straight, it was NEEDED
@1:37 , so kind to her clients.
This came out very silky and shiny!! I could be wrong, but this looks like a silk press to me. I thought a Domican Blowout included a rollerset under a hooded dryer first. Then using a blowdryer, but no flat iron.
They wrap your hair in ceramic and do other steps for a silk press. I did not have any of those steps done here. On their service menu, this is considered a Dominican Blowout
Your hair looks great !!
You are so beautiful, and the hairstyle came out perfect! I was super impressed with Marta - she took her time with each step. Washing, conditioning, detangling, sectioning. You can see the quality and care she offers to clients. One thing, I do prefer the roller set method!
Thank you so much for your kind words xo I will have to try the roller set method soon!
Great video ! This lady knows how to do her job for sure !!
And your hair, gorgeous 😍
Right!? Also, thank you so much 🤍
Wow! You had to apologize for your hair being dirty? Perhaps, you were considering it would be extra work for the hair stylist.
You possess an endearing personality, Ambitious Nysh. That's so lovely!
Lol, yes! I try to make it easier for her by pre washing 😩 Also, thank you for noticing this. Honestly this character trait is both a blessing and a curse sometimes if you’re around people who love to “take” 🫤
You did well love. You don’t over use people’s time. Coming to the salon without detangle your hair after braids take a lot of time. And yes… for your hair to grow and be healthy you have to wash it & put conditioner every week. That’s one of the reasons white people’s hair grow a lot because they clean their scalp.

In typical Dominican blow outs the hair is stretched with rollers under a hooded dryer (indirect heat) she did it with a blow dryer directly on the hair which is definitely heat damage and then went in with the flat iron. This technique is no different from what is done in an African American salon. From a licensed cosmetologist who is black and latina.
You'll only know once you WASH it or if you KNOW her IRL
My hair reverts back every time but you are correct. That can occur.
You’re talking about a wash, set and blow out. She got a blow out and press this is also an option in Dominican salons. She’s has fine hair she really did not need a roller set. Dominican salon has options each hair type and density can take different things ❤
Where are you located?
You’re so pretty! 😍she did a great job. 👏🏾 beautiful hair.
Thank you 🫶🏾
I would LOVE to get this done, but I live in California and Dominican stylist are far and few in between.
She must lives in an humidity-free area. As soon as a hot flash hits, mist or humidity hits, it's going to curl RIGHT back up. But it's a very healthy way to take care of 4C hair.
Hey! I live in Florida so definitely not humidity-free, haha! My trick is to first spray hair sheen so my hair doesn't quench for moisture and then top it off with dry shampoo to lock in and out the moisture. Hope this helps!
I live in South Florida as soon as I walk out the salon within 2 hours the humidity attacks my Dominicam Blowout!
This looks great on you! 😍
Thank you 🤍
On behalf of all girl-dads, thank you 😅
My pleasure 🫶🏾
wow she did a great job😍💗
I agree 😩😍
Thank you for sharing and your hair looks good !!!
Thank you 💗
Stylist did a beautiful job!!
You are so gorgeous
Ima professional hairdresser. And I just wanted to say you did an amazing job 👏🏾 💖
She’s amazing! Thank you so much 🤍

What song is that at the very beginning?
I just went and got this done to my hair. It didn't go so well. Pretty, but my hair smells burnt and I was handled very roughly. I think way too much heat was applied. :(
Sorry that was your experience. Finding a stylist that practices TLC is hard. Hope you find her/him 🤍
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
🤍
How often do you get blow outs or straighten your hair? I’m so tempted to start every once in awhile but scared of the possible heat damage.
Hey Love, I get them every 5-6 months. As long as the stylist isn’t putting any chemicals to make your hair softer or straighter during the process, your hair should revert back. I’ve been doing blowouts for 11 years with no issues
@@AmbitiousNyshwould you say you’ve seen a lot of growth with your hair ?
I love Dominicans they will offer you something to drink and eat they are so nice 💜💜💜
🤍
She did a great job but how long does it last? I get silk presses maybe 2-3x a yr and it only last a day or 2😢
Thank you! Mine last about 2 weeks. I also do them about 2-3x a year 🤎
Did it hurt? btw I love this vid the hairstylist is so sweet!💗
Thank you! No, I did not hurt
But your hair is gorgeous!
Thank you!

Did she use a heat protectant before she blow dried your hair as well?
Yes 🤍
Your hair looks amazing also beautiful and thanks for not talking bad about Dominicans
Thanks 🤍 & Haha, my grandfather is Dominican although I don’t believe in talking bad about anyone from other countries. We all bleed the same!
@@AmbitiousNysh that's so awesome I was born over there but don't know nothing and I'm the same and the reason was cause if you search here in UA-cam Dominican blow out a lot of people talk bad 😞 so makes me sad.
@@raquelcruz12171that’s because we’ve experienced bad things girl.. I agree though, it makes me sad too… I wish I had someone like this lady in the video.
Did she put any products in your hair before blow drying?
I had a deep conditioning treatment prior. When doing a Dominican Blowout, you don’t want to much products in the hair.
I am Dominican and my hair is natural straight. But I don't use the blower. My hairdresser set my hair in rolos and then I spend about 1 hour in the dryer. The Dominican blowout put way too much heat straight into the hair.
I will try this method but I’m not sure if it will work with my deep coils. Anyway, thank youuu 🫶🏾
@@AmbitiousNysh blow dryers don’t get that hot. Highest temperature they reach is 180°F. As long as your stylist is using a good quality heat protectant such as a heat protectant blowout cream, spray or oil before applying any heat to your hair you’re fine. The rollers the rollers themselves become very hot, so you have scorching hot rollers rolled up in your hair along with more heat being applied from the overhead dryer. Blowouts or rollers are not bad as long as good quality hair masks, shampoos and heat protectant products are being applied. Neither way is less damage than the other. The only difference is that if you are someone who always air dries your hair you may experience breakage when using a hairdryer for a blowout the first couple of times because air drying decreases the elasticity of your hair. However you can combat this by using Redken extreme repair mask and Redken extreme anti-snap leave in conditioner before blowing out your hair.
is this orlando?
No, Miami 🤍
I like this because here in LA, I’ve experienced racist ass people that do this.. (Dominican blowouts) and they always turn away people with 4 type hair.. I’ve wanted to find someone who can do it on my hair.. I may need to make a trip out there.. cuz it came out really good.
I’m so sorry to read this. I hope you find someone up there so you don’t have to travel. As of lately, I’ve been doing the blowouts myself and they come out just as good. Lmk if you’d like the info on the tools & products that I use
@@AmbitiousNysh yes please! I’d appreciate that.
My hair fell out going to a dominican hair salon.
Sorry to read this :/
How did you record this?
Canon camera.
New Subscriber here!! She did a Great job on your hair! I have a question, you said your Blow Out lasts for 2 weeks........what is your moisturizing routine during those 2 weeks so your hair doesn't revert?!
Hi Love, I spray oil sheen every 2-3 days. That’s it literally
That lather?!! 😫
🤍
I don’t like Dominican but this look cute
Thank you 🤍
Not 4C at all but cute.
What hair type is this mine also looks the same
Thank you 🫶🏾 My hair is mixed with 3 type of curl patterns 😬 What hair type would you say I mainly have?
@@AmbitiousNyshMy hair looks like yours too… it’s confusing..
