The stuffing in the Yong Tau Foo are actually fish paste mixed with some starch, hence the texture. That noodles is actually a dry type wan tan noodles with minced pork and Char Siu.😊
That’s actually nian gao, not mochi haha. It’s made from glutinous rice, and here in Malaysia we usually place it in between slices of sweet potato and taro, batter it and deep fry it until golden :)
@@minniec.9127 hmm its true that they’re both made from the same ingredient, I’m just saying that here in Malaysia it’s not known as or called mochi haha
A rule of thumb if you're on a food epiphany in Malaysia : ' You SHOULDN'T HAVE FOOD RESERVATIONS.' For starters, congratulations, you are at the right place ie. ICC Pudu. Enjoy the street food capital of the world. Not my assertion BUT all globetrotters.

Wow that fried mochi looked delicious. Thank you for sharing!
Definitely a pleasant surprise and fun to eat!
that is definitely NOT mochi...
Not chow mein nor ramen, it's the dry version of wonton noodles. And the stuffing in egg plant and chili is fish cake, not tofu.
Thanks so much for watching and clarifying the ingredients!
I love ICC pudu. The best iced kopi. And so many tasty dishes! I like to book my accommodation nearby so we can walk in the morning 👌
That is a great idea. You could literally eat every meal there. 😂 Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
@@grifsfoodandtravel lol yes we probably would but it’s only open until 2pm 🤪

Kon lou noodles means dry lo mien, the soup is served on the side versus noodles served in soup. Noodles are alkaline egg noodles.
Wow, thank you so much for that explanation. I truly appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment on this episode!

Nian gao is made from sweet glutinous rice flour, so is mochi. Same thing, different name.
Kuih Bakul as known in Malay.

Call it by its name, nian gao. Not donut, not mochi.
We were surprised bc we got the egg tarts for dessert but they were more eggy than sweet. Not what we were expecting!
Yes, these egg tarts were less sweet. But whenever I travel, I always want to pick up an egg tart. 😋
13:11 Not called Kon Lou Noodles. It's called Char Siew Wanton Mee.
Appreciate the correct. Thank you!
Love the translucent chopsticks !!!
So hard to use...lol.

It looks like most places here are only open for lunch. That's a shame.
Yeah, they are open for breakfast and lunch, but close up for dinner.
