About Megin, Oðr and Ergi, the terms for power and the flow of power.
Megin - "The immanent power that gives every being - (from the greatest cosmic forces to you and me) - their specific potency and enables them to realize their purpose." In Folke Ström - Nordisk hedendom: tro och sed I förkristen tid.
Óðr - about the streaming of energy, and the ecstatic flow of power. Henning Kure calls it “følelsernes og bevidsthedens sus” - the rushing, stirring of emotions and consciousness. Like ecstasy connected with consciousness. While Ström calls it “extatisk raseri” - ecstatic rage .
Ergi - my understanding: Ergi means the ecstatic flow and skilful shamanic use/ magic manifestation of life power. It is rather different from most other views that judge it as unmanliness, meanness, perversion.
