What are the Giving Machines?:
The Giving Machines are vending machines with a Christmas twist. Instead of purchasing something for yourself, you can purchase something useful to donate to others. When you use the Giving Machines, giving as Jesus gave is both simple and meaningful.
100% of these donations are distributed to charity partners like CARE.org, UNICEF, WaterAid, Water for People, and more. In 2018, the Giving Machines raised over $2.3 million with the help of over 92,000 people. Read more about it here: www.washingtonpost.com/religi...
Administrative costs for the Giving Machines are covered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

So beautiful, direct, and heartwarming.
Uplifting charity ads like thus are horrendously underrated. Showing you how your donation of money, materials, or time can help those in need is far more effective and motivating than trying to guilt you into it.

This video has touched my heart so deeply that it is hard to pull myself away. It brings tears to my eyes every time. It also evokes a deep longing to serve, and surround myself with light.
The way this video was edited is quite effective I must say. It does a good job of showing HOW your donations help someone by essentially being able to buy something small or big for someone else in the world as a gift. If you feel like you want to even make a small difference in someone's life, well, that gives you more choices!
So heartwarming! It's so inspiring to see the difference we can make in others' lives.
Thank you Church if Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
We need more of these machines since they’re not heard or known of. We need to have more accessibility to help our brothers and sisters in need.
I buy gift cards from Super Grocery stores in my area and give these cards throughout the year when I cross paths with someone in need. You don't need this machine, they're just an advertisement gimmick the church uses.
Thank you to those that help nonprofits through 'Just Serve' what a Blessing.
Five of these machines showed up in the Mall near me. It is so cool. What a great idea. I was just walking in the mall when I saw then so I did not have my wallet, but when I go back I am going to use the machine. It takes credit cards and applepay. Pretty awesome.
We went to the reveal in Orem last night. Our third year vlogging the event. LOVE this idea!
San Diego, California would 💜💜LOVE💜💜 to have a machine!!!
It says 100% of the donations are distributed to the charity partners? A good way to share a global effort of caring, using a lot of different organizations. We need one in Billings Mt!!
ahhhhhhh! this song is so magical in its storytelling. what is it!!???!?!?
Did you find out the name of the song?
I cry every time I watch this
This made me want to cry
Nice video, one by one
This is AWESOME!
I love this idea. I want a picture of all that is available so my kids and grand kids can choose what they want to give this year as their gift to others. Is it possible to post a still shoot of what they can choose to give since they can't go to the machine with me.. Love Light the World with love. Love makes the world go round.
Love it!
Whomever wrote, directed, shot this vid a fabulous job! Can you share names of the individuals who created this?
I can not say for certain who wrote this but it was directed by the talented Richard McFarland and his crew at Fifty Films in Salt Lake City Utah.
Written by a talented writer at Boncom in SLC
❤❤❤
Good video
how are the locations chosen?
Hi! I was in this and am trying to get a file for my demo reel. My emails weren't returned the last time I tried. Figured I'd try this route...
A shame some of these partners take a high percentage of the profit we give them.
Ricky Reynolds what are you talking about? Maybe you should research and not assume.
Most of these charities are scams, but go on give them your hard earned money so you can feel better about yourself
You know what is really hard is that the lds church could light the whole world without any vending machines. It has literally billions in reserves. That's what is really hard about watching this, because other charities can only give through donations, while the lds church could give a ton of good, regardless of donations.
I believe that it isn’t a matter of how much money the Church has. We, as the givers, are the ones who feel so warm inside when we can personally donate to another. It’s about giving us the opportunity as individuals to serve another this Christmas season.
