You can't take the discovery tile from a sector that has an ancient on it if you're Descendants of Draco. That would break the game to an unprecedented degree in favor of descendant. You take the discovery tile only when the ancient is defeated.
Shea...absolutely tremendous run thru! Thank you for all you do for the channel and for all of us who care to see the latest and greatest coming from the publishers and designers.
@@RTFM great presentation watched the vid on ur channel too! whats the software that can put the tablesides in the top corners like this? could bottom corners have hand/display zooms in case of different games?
@@user-yr5nv2gv7m there's a bunch of different programs that can do it, but we're both using OBS (open broadcast software) because it's free! you can have as many video elements as your computer can support (we both have 3 cameras plugged into our machines... one for the overhead, one for the corner, and one for the greenscreen) :)
I had this game for months. It was so intimidating getting it on the table. You made it feel like Azul. Straight forward play-through. Amazing Video. I’ve watched the how to play on RTFM as well. We are going to play it today. Finally!
Nice video. An error at 55:59. The destroyed cube does not immediately go back to the population ring, but instead it goes to the graveyard. This means that the person who loses the cube(s), get the benefit of them for one extra turn. Warm regards, Rick.
FINALLY received this game yesterday. Ordered it from the company eons ago, but, due to the shipping pandemic it took forever. Thanks for the great run down. It really helps.
On your first Exploration (6:00) you accidentally grabbed a Ring II sector (211) for one of your choices when you explored Ring III. Bit of a goof for balancing purposes, but seems you caught the other mistakes pretty quick! Love the Klingon subtitles corrections trick :D
someone else already noted that you can't take the explore tile if there's an ancient present - you can just settle planets. Also, on the very first Explore, Shea picked up two tiles as Descendants (as you should) but one of them must have been a middle sector tile because it was numbered starting with 2. He was exploring an outer sector location, though, and the other tile was numbered (correctly) starting with 3.

This is such a great game, I bought it before Christmas but only played it 2p a few times because of lockdown. I hope I can play it with 6 players soon
Just got this, great walk through can't wait for my first game this weekend, looks more accessible ( due to play time ) than twilight, so hopefully will hit the table more often.
Hi Dee Red, The newer game has MUCH nicer components, and extra stuff from the "Rise of the Ancients" & "Ship Pack" expansion. It also has several improvements. If you are poor and ~$120 is a lot of money, maybe not. If you have "Rise of the Ancients", the new version is less needed. If you have the "Ship Pack" for the old game, the new version is less needed. If you love this game and it hits the table regularly, the improved rules are very nice - so buy. If you really like the better organization trays, and the cool new models, you may want it. I consider the game much better, and certainly think it is worth the upgrade cost. Warm regards, Rick.

oh your friend is a clever one! i really like that analogy :)
I remember someone saying "the start is like star trek and the last round is like warhammer 40k" ;)
Wow! Right on cue! I bought this game… yesterday! Thanks!
How did you get your hands on it? I can't find it anywhere
@@conradculley i bought it second hand

Brilliant run through.
Amazing movie, at 6:13 the image from 3 different camera's is in view on screen 😃
Really great quality.
At 49:36 - you shouldn't have gotten a token because you retreated, correct? Or do you still get points since you didn't complete the retreat action?
Did he retreat? from what I saw he was in a battle and was destroyed, he didn't retreat
I have Eclipse 1.0, I like it. Is getting the new edition worth it?
