For everyone that will listen, may they accept the Truth of the forgiving, loving, and restorative power of God. He loves us.
My husband and I went to see this movie---- we had no words at the end... it hit home on so many levels. (his father died a few weeks before and had the same coffin....I was singing 'Amazing Grace' to my mother when she died at 61 in 2012..... anyway, my husband and I held hands and walked as fast as we could to the car and just sat there and cried for like 1/2 hour.... What a really great story though! :-) We are so grateful for the song and the story. :-)
I honestly recommend the movie. I cried honestly. It brought me back to the Times I had similar issues like he was going through, and it made me realize I need to forgive the people that hurt me. Love you Jesus!!!!!
MercyMe is a phenomenal band - I'd never even heard of them, and then my Mom passed away. I was searching for a song to play at her wake and just stumbled across, "Homesick". Listen to it - it will change your life.
I just saw this movie. I'm not "RELIGIOUS", but this movie had me in tears. The plot kept my normally short attention span fully engaged. The acting wasn't "cheesy" like most Christian movies. And Dennis gave an Oscar-worthy performance. I highly recommend this movie, B.Y.O.K! (bring your own Kleenex)
This film for me was touching, funny, sad, emotional, and redeeming with a message of hope. When we have failed or/or messed up we need to have hope. This film gives hope.

In his story and the movie I don’t blame the Mum for leaving but her child was being abused and she had to have known that when she left, I want to be a strong mother when I’m older and I’m going to be strong for my kids, I’m not going to give up on them or leave them, I’m going to fight for them. That’s what I think of a mother, someone who fights for their kids and is strong!
Dennis Quaid is a very talented actor, and I want to see this movie.

I was on set with Dennis Quaid and Clancy Brown in 2007 both guys were really cool to me and my friends and we were just extras in the movie and they spoke to us like regular people.

Wow, so many people are focusing on Dennis, how he sounds & how he looks, etc. Can we focus instead on this song & the healing power of music & God? This country, this world needs something NOW to believe in that's bigger than anything any mortal person can give us. I know I believe Jesus Christ will return one day, hopefully sooner rather than later based on the way people are these days. IF Dennis is sick like some have wondered then I'll be praying for him & hopefully he will be healed through the power of Jesus Christ. I can't wait to see the movie, my 15 yo grandson & I will be seeing it after church on Sunday!
Sorry but this is some kind of naive sight - hoping that Jesus will return someday - maybe - Jesus is in all of us ALREADY and WE have the power to change the world we are wishing for. Waiting for someone to come and "fix" everything means giving up your own responsibility to change things!
I agree with you that there is indeed a power sorrounding us and guiding us if we learn to silently listen to and feel with our heart.

This song gives me chills! I have to say that I am sorry that I do not follow Christian music, even though I am a Christian, and I would not have known about this wonderful, beautiful, amazing song and movie If I had not been watching the Mike Huckabee show this past Saturday night! Thank you Governor Huckabee for showcasing this on your show. You devoted a lot of time to it. Well, my husband and I tried to see it at 2 early showtimes on Monday, yes I said Monday, and those first two shows were sold out. So happy to see that. We need many more films like this in the theaters, as well as on TV. Dennis Quaid deserves an Oscar for his role as the father. No doubt about it! All of the actors and actresses were top-notch and the music is beautiful and inspirational. I could go on and on, but I will stop now. Spread the good word about this movie so that it'll stay in the theaters and when it goes to DVD or Netflix it will be just as successful there. Love everyone!

"Turns to faith?"......you mean he placed his faith in Jesus Christ and has a personal relationship with Jesus and now has the Holy Spirit residing in him that transforms his life into something he only could imagine could happen. All religions are false but Jesus is the real deal.
Nothing is "false" and nothing is really that important either. But whatever makes you feel good I guess.

"It is something about music that helps heal him and the teacher has a role on this". What is about God that bothers some people so much to admit that it was Him who healed this guy soul, not music, not teacher. Faith in Jesus healed his soul, and that healing faith was expressed in music! It was faith in Jesus that healed their relationship as faith in Jesus has reconciliation at its core: man reconciled with our Heavenly Father and because of that we seek reconciliation in all our earthly relationships. It is sad and ridiculous to interpret what happened to him as an accredit to music or a supportive teacher. How many people are in love with music and yet it has not healed them. Sadly many great artists and musicians committed suicide. Music does not heal, man too. This world with its "political correctness" has become so ridicule and incorrect.

Dennis has been in some big roles, but he really gave one of his strongest performances in this film.
Ultimately it's about Christ not a guy & his father. Comes to "faith"... you mean comes to Christ.

The first time I heard this song, I was on my way to church. I cried almost all the way through the song. When I got to church the congregation asked me if I was ok. The only thing I could utter at first was yes. Yes. I am fine. After about 5 minutes I was finally able to speak and said I just heard such a beautiful song. Its called " I can only Imagine. Everyone said yes I react the same way.
