- MKU is proud to announce the Kavro SCH 111 T “Veer” Helmet that provides NIJ Level IIIA All-Round head protection from ballistic threats & fragments and empowers the soldiers by allowing them to mount and utilize the advantages of modern tactical combat gear (Night Vision Devices, Communication Systems, Cameras & Torches). Our engineers have developed the special contour of this helmet so that it can be worn comfortably by Sikh Soldiers over their cloth patka.
We humbly dedicate this helmet to the spirit of valour that Sikh Heroes have embodied for generations, at home and across the world.
I'm an American and our Sikh servicemen and women, though they are few, absolutely deserve this long-overdue piece of basic lifesaving equipment!!

I understand the community feelings but i think helmets are very important especially in the modern warfare...soldiers would need many attachments and will face deadly weapons...world war times were different...so helmet is essential but lets see...its not compulsory btw...if some sikh is uncomfortable he can opt out...

Military helmet were always size of a perfect half circle because it was why they were working, they were able to ricoshette a bullet. This is Shri Gobind Singh Ji’s stringent advice to all Sikhs.
If a Sikh wears Hat/ HardHat/ Helmet instead of a Turban. He well be dead with Leprosy in next seven births. Not a single Sikh soldier will be agree to wear these safety helmets. They will accept martyrdom with enemy’s gunshot on head instead of wearing helmets. In last 400 years Sikhs fought uncountable battle, they never wore helmets and they will not wear them in future.

Sukhjinder virk, all airforce pilots including sikhs wear helmets because turban doesn't protect against G forces and to control the aircraft you need advance helmets. Various sikh were air chief Marshall's in indian air force. And sikh wore those helmets.
So will they be leprous now? And you want sikhs do die in military operations? How will they communicate? Where will they attach night vision goggles? In turban? Answer all these.

It takes money and years to train a soldier to become skillful for service but one bullet to head can end his life, loss of a capable soldier, loss to his family. In addition, in modern conflicts, there are several hi tech gadgets that are attached to helmets to increase soldier's capabilities.If it's possible to provide safety, why reject it and make soldiers more vulnerable. Even if you don't like it, i think it should be left to discretion of individual soldier if they wear it or not, because it's their life which is at risk.
