This video came along just as I was getting really discouraged with the lack of ramification and straight branches on my willow leaf ficus trees. You answered all my questions! Thank you!! Keep the videos coming.
Very informative discussion on developing ramification and back-budding for this species. I am currently developing one here in south Louisiana. Our weather is very similar to that of Orlando. Appreciate your time with this video.
Hello, my wollow leaf seems to be dying. Its dropping all its leafs, the PH level is good and im watering it often. Its winter here in Australia and gets down to around 5 degrees celcious at night. Do you have any ideas about what to do? Thanks
5c or 41F, would be cold enough to put your willow ficus to drop it leaves and go fully dormant. You may want to watch how much water as it could cause root rot.

That’s all Ben! I’m just surprised how fast the ficus grows in the Southern US region. I don’t get that type of growth in drier climate
So much awesome info! Thank you.
Thanks. Too bad Ben is moving
Good information right here
Glad it was helpful!
Nice specimens.
Yes they are totally jealous

Ben you have some beautiful trees.. if you would some time discuses crown design
Probably the next time I’ll be in Orlando. I’ll ask Ben that question.
I’ve always wanted to buy a rain or rainbow tropical tree but I don’t think it would do to well in California
They do pretty will just need a bit of frost protection on those cold nights.
ficus neriifolia is native to asia, I would have to disagree that my specimens are clones from florida
Would not know the origins but they sure look pretty!
Is all of this apply for a microcarpa ?
Probably to all ficus
