Heljarmadr is my favorite Dark Funeral vocalist. He is amazing live after seeing them in Calgary 🇨🇦 on Nov.15th . Has an amazing scream, articulates the words well and has awesome stage presence

I've been listening to Dark Funeral since the "Secrets of the Black Arts" days. Great band, and they quite often don't get the respect they deserve, or too many people see them as a "joke black metal band". I like all incarnations of the band, and I thought "Where Shadows..." is a great record. Thanks for the interview! Also, I love how he just shrugs off the labeling of music to genres and basically says if you like, you like it, and who cares what anyone else thinks. Lots of respect for that!
Aye! I remember finding them in 1996 with the debut and the EP. Solid band.

Yo I'm so glad he brought up the band Mgla cause they're absolutely amazing. This guy seems very knowledgeable about the music he makes and the genre itself. Very humble and laid back. Where Shadows forever Reign is such a great record front to back! Dude has some great pronunciation.

Heljarmadr has done a fantastic job of pumping new life into the band after Caligula left. The last album (first with him on) is arguably thier finest work. He's also great live.

Got to say i enjoy'd this interview very much. The questions were just right and the answers refreshing. Especially the filling of Caligulas shoes, and in my opinion the Where Shadows Forever Reign is Dark Funeral's best album up to date and full of atmosphere.

Listen to Atrum Regina, Bloodfrozen, Thy Legions Come, Attera Totus Sanctus, The Eternal Eclipse, My Latex Queen, 666 Voices Inside... They are some of my favourites. There's many more though.
Saw DF during their 25 year anniversary tour last year. I've always been a fan of Caligula and thought Heljamadr is just a shadow of him but he really exceeded my expectations after their performance. Heljamadr is a great choice by DF.

Also agree that the last 2 albums with Heljarmadr showcase his different lyrical approach which has refreshed Dark Funeral and given them new energy while keeping their classic fast tremolo picking riffs

Very interesting interview... i´ve been listening Dark Funeral since 2001, and my favorite album is The Secrets of the Black arts.
Where Shadows Forever Reign is a great cd,reminds me of the older Dark Funeral I am looking forward to their next cd.
Wearing a Priest shirt + Likes all vocalist of Black Sabbath = Cool guy.
And totally understand the lack of interest of new band's.
(I am 46, and feel the same. I just stick with the old ones, with few exceptions)

Cool interview, Gra are a great band, their record Ending (2015) is awesome, nice atmosphere to it.I do like it when bands sing in their native tongue, he should slip in some Swedish lyrics for Dark Funeral.

I love Gra, the band contributed 2 of their songs from Väsen in my newest horror film Holland Road Massacre. Been working with Heljarmadr since and he is currently doing music for my film In april Veronika. He is a great dude.

To be honest, I can only really 100% get behind DF first album, I feel from then they went downhill, but this guy seems really cool and this is a great review rauta! GRA is also a pretty good band also.
Brett Give their latest album "Where shadows forever reign" a chance. It‘s by far their best since "The secrets of a black arts" in my opinion. I agree with you about the other albums.
I really liked nachtgarm with his short time in Dark Funerao but I do really like Heljarmadr
