    Some notes:
    A. Stress testing is for an absolute worst case scenario, so 90 degrees in that case isn't major cause for concern.
    B. Greg said they worked on "peak temperature". This is the absolute hottest the CPU got in that hour.
    C. 1000 RPM is fairly low on most fans (it's quieter though, so there is some benefit).
    D. Overclocking your CPU is really not necessary in a majority of cases.
    E. The 7700k is known to run a bit warm.
    F. A 6 degree difference isn't the end of the world.
    JayzTwoCents did a more informed video on the subject, I'd recommend giving it a watch if you're uncertain. But essentially:
    A 120mm AIO can handle even a slightly overclocked i7/R7 without a problem (in all likelihood it won't even run loud).
    A 240mm AIO is only necessary if you're doing heavy overclocking or running a top-end CPU (i9, Ryzen Threadripper, etc.).
    A 360mm AIO is only necessary if you're either doing extreme overclocking, or doing heavy overclocking /running a top-end CPU AND you want it to be incredibly quiet.

    i got a 4000d airflow with a 120 aio for my 5600x mounted to the back exhaust and my 3080 has a 240 aio mounted to the top
    this way both aio get fresh air from the front without affecting each other
    5600x gets 61c max with cinebench 4.9ghz all core oc 1.333v
    3080 gets 56c in furmark no overclock

    120mm is usually for small case.
    240mm is like top tier air cooler.
    280mm is better than air cooler.
    360/420mm is the best you can get.
    The sweet spot is 280mm if the case support it i guess.

    For most PC builds, especially those with open-air graphics cards, the best place to mount your AIO is on the front side with the tube side down. . . . er. . . . TUBE SIDE DOWN ! (Just tryin' to help)

    I have a icue220t case, and I really want 240-360mm rad. The problem is that my gpu(3080 tuf) take all the space in the front and my ram (vengeance rgb) takes space on the top. A simple solution would be to get rid of the ram but I want to try and make it work first. Any ideas? Thanks

    This might be a stupid question, but you can replace the radiator fans with others more to your liking, right? I believe mine came with MLs, but I like the QLs much better.

    • @5113130
      @5113130 3 роки тому +1

      You can, but you might run into minor fitting issues, like small gaps between the fans or sub optimal fitting next to the radiator.

    Hi Corsair, today i was at my local internet cafe and their builds consisted mostly of corsair hardware as well as peripherals, the mice they had was the harpoon rgb pro and the m65 pro, so as i was playing and noticed my aim was off by alot and found the problem to be the lift off distance, i then look on the mouse to find the any button that adjusts the lift off distance with no luck, i go into icue to find out theres not an option to adjust the lift off distance... like what were u thinking when manufacturing these mice?? My guess would be u never even tested the mice before releasing them with a high lift off distance... it truly made my internet cafe experience bad... cmon guys its 2022 i know u can do alot better than that🙏

    I kinda always wondered why you didn't make one with quick disconnects and then supply any number of after market rads for the end user? Like what if I wanted to start with a 120 but then upgrade it later without rebuilding the whole system?

    • @AlekeVideos
      @AlekeVideos 3 роки тому +1

      The more parts, the more potential failure points, also I doubt enough people would want modular AIOs for it to be a viable market.

    • @frestylezz
      @frestylezz 3 роки тому +3

      That's irrelevant for thermal testing. The point is not that the 7700k is 90C with a 120mm rad, the point is the difference between the 120mm and the 240mm is 6C.
      Besides, older CPUs are more consistent in their heat output - it's a lot harder to get a consistent heat output from a newer CPU (which is why a lot of cooler testing isn't even done using CPUs in the first place)

    I do not understand the namign conventions that differentiate between this whole confusing product line... Elite... Cappelix... XT... RGB... Hydro... Pro... it's like a word soup. As far as I can tell the only differences are the pump head and the overall color. And some weird difference between XT and non-XT in fans... aRGB or something. This is becoming a nightmare and the hardest part of the build.. figuring out your naming scheme. And I need to control this with buttons on a box, not via software becauseI don't think you support anythign earlier than Windows 10... which is like... 9 other versions of Windows...
