Delboy you legend. Watch your videos and your advice and guidance has helped me so much. I'm a newbie rider at 33. Before I was scared to do my own maintenance. I have now because of you done many bike jobs myself. Recently a full brake caliper rebuild seals piston etc and Master cylinder. LEGEND!!!!
Dear sir when I first got hooked into utoob (being a compulsive bike n scooter fetler ...!!!!)your channel was my first to watch still do...learned a lot off you .. big thanks...regarding people's negative whinging .."..go watch somthing else.."
I would be tempted to leave the paint unless it started peeling, I don't think it looks that bad. It might not come across well (or bad) on the tubes though. You are giving that bike a new lease of life, can't wait to see you take it out, no rush though, I love it all, the tinkering and fabrication and the rest.
Hi buddy, honestly it's just a few wrinkles in two tiny patches, one on each side of the frame, literally half the size of your palm, not only that as they're curing, they are diminishing all the time... eventually they'll be barely visible marks and I'll just buff them back with some Scotchbrite and flick over a think layer of paint just in that area... far bigger issues on the horizon and really looking forward to getting back on the bodywork !! Thanks for watching mate... appreciated
Another 15 minutes of my day well spent. Del, your vids are a godsend mate. Packed with useful tips and your positivity really helps myself, and I'm sure others, get those little jobs we've been putting off done and sorted. All power to you you mate.
del boy your a very talented bloke and an inspiration to many thousands who u have following. if asked you questions what isn't even reticent to your builds and you take the time out to give me an answer. awsum stuff bro.
At 7:05, that’s not a shop manual people. Delboy’s catching up with his book-of-the-month club reading as he works. Looks like “The Sea Wolf” I think. Looking good Delboy.
Thanks, I like the tip on cutting the bolts to the correct length, it might seem obvious but 9 times out of 10 you can't trust your eye. Starting to look really nice and the kind of thing I like, an old(ish) bike given some love. Thanks again. ps. I like your filming
This my good friend gave me a warm feeling , i spent 3 years meticulously building my last project, with ocd to the limit and it cost me thousands , you will end up with a far superior machine so I have great respect for your detail and commitment Peace and Love brother..
Thank you do much Brother.. you're dead right, it seems or be literaly eating money at the moment, but its so therapeutic taking the time to put it back together bit by bit and seeing it grow into a bike again..wheels in at the weekend, and a big change in the design coming too..!
Thank buddy, that's very kind, just trying to keep it simple and progressive, it still shocks me that the average YT video watch time across the net is still only 6mins, so I try to balance it with a little bit of chat and lots of physical progress, after all, that's what I like to watch... but we're gonna post a little blog/catch up shortly, I've got some pretty cool tools to show you (not a prize draw), and a few thank you's to some special people (not that you're not all special!)... thanks for watching, have a great weekend...
[p] Nearly there Del. Found a rusty old ring spanner week in my stash of old gear soaked in vinegar turns out to be a Blue Point . God knows how old it is . Cheers Pete.
Moonfleet41 will call you tomorrow if that’s ok we need to have a chat . The new catalogue is out an£ I will send you one, also want to plan a visit June time
Good to hear that lil glitch with the paint is easily sorted Del. With the help of Milo :) Getting nearer and nearer to a finished job now..... Good to see you the other day, I enjoyed that lil gathering of idiots. Keep up the good work dude
Hi mate, gerat to hear from you again, and yep, didn't we have a great time, even though it was cold, wet and miserable!! I assume you've had the email by now, get your response in as we're already planning the next one for March and a much longer ride this time lol !
Bikes looking great Del. I’ve missed a few videos as the house I’m living in doesn’t have internet (I know right, 2018 and no internet 😔) so using my phone data. Keep me coming mate so looking forward to the finished beast 👍
Moonfleet41 yeah it’s a shocker isn’t it 😂 I’m currently staying with an old friend and didn’t see the need for internet, so never bothered getting it. Not quite the outback but I am in a town called Springwood which is about 15kms into the blue mountains. So not to much more civilisation left before you get to the outback hahaah. Once I get my own place I will be getting it for sure.
Cheers Ray, bit of a way to go yet, but its romping forward now at least... Keep warm mate, seen the forecast for the nest week.. sunny but bloody arctic temps.. i wanna go live in California..!
You wanna get yourself some proper 2k paint Del, it’ll make your life so much easier. Even the best rattle cans will never beat the paint that’s put through a gun.
Sure thing buddy, but I'm in a 'domestic' environment here, so have to be careful with 2k fumes, did use it as clear coat for the XJR flame paintwork, and it's definitely better, you're right...!
Hi Del, Bike's looking great. I love that black, I always wanted to paint my Ford pick up( ford F 100 ) in argentina that colour but it was to big, so to expensive ...lol. Sorry I'll disturb you with a question. I found a tiny pin hole in the center or of my bike radiator panel. Would you try with that "Liqui Moly Motorcycle Radiator Leak Stop " ?? The water pump is mounted on a rubber seal , any problem with that ? Thanks, Gus
Hi Gus.. If the radiator is leaking, and you're losing coolant.. then you have no choice but to repair it, or replace it... so why not give it a go.. as long as you are using what you have said there. .a dedicated motorcycle focused product, check the instructions for any issues with seals.. and if its all compatible.. give it a go, you have nothing to lose aye buddy.. Good luck with it.. Del.
nearly there del think I'm more excited than you I really canna wait for this and to see what comes next m8 its lookin the absolute doggies del keep up the good work m8 atb iain
I think I spotted a bit of OCD there Del, early on in the video, you centred the washers to the bolts, ............ not a show bike huh? lol. Good call buddy, gotta be done how you want it after all. And as for Milo, god bless him, the man is a guru for the home painting guy, spray gun or rattle can, I've learnt a lot from watching his, and your videos on painting. Planning to do some myself soon, hate the Dulville's colour lol. RSM8 always
Hi Ian, yeah God bless Milo aye, miss him a lot, even though i never met him.. and me, OCD?, never.. its just looks right to centre them dont you think...lol crackin on now mate, lots more to do still.. take care buddy, and have a good week.. Del.
She’s looking really sweet, Del. You looked like you were really enjoying yourself in a big way! Can’t believe how fast you work, too. LOL. At one point you referenced a manual on your bench presumably for torque settings. What book do you have? Hope all is well with you both. (70 degrees here today with some wind and we’re going riding! Yeah, I know it’s just to the dentist, but we’ll take the long way home!)
Hey Gary, good to hear from you brother.. and jealous of your summer weather... 70 is a million miles away for us this time of year.. That was a manual yes, its a "Clymer" manual for the ZX7-R, and i just use it for torque settings.. take care and hope you enjoyed you ride... D&Px
Moonfleet41 Ok good re Clymer. I’m on the lookout for one for my 03 Fatboy. I have the Harley one but wanted a bit more amplification. The ride was great... and warmer weather coming your way soon!
(P) Been looking forward to this video Del... Now HUGE amateur question here... When you put your forks back on the bike, and back into the triple tree. Is there a "technique" to making sure it's all aligned properly and straight again? Want to take the forks of my old VFR to give them a service, but not sure if I'd get stuck putting them back in if I cant get them aligned.
Hi Christopher, generally speaking, if the whole front end is being built from scratch, like in this video, then torque up the bottom yoke first, as it's deeper than the top yoke, and should hold the forks dead straight, then after you've torqued down the centre nut, you can do those pinch bolts at the top and it should all be straight... But generally speaking, fork alignment is something that you'll usually do maybe once a year anyway, and I've made two videos on it, the usual method, undo everything except the pinch bolts on the top yoke... and don't forget the centre nut...a nd with evetything lose, do the plunge up and down method which will re-align everything... like I said, I've done two videos on it, but let us know if you get stuck ! All the best, Del
I'm getting excited as it's almost completed.... but sad as it's almost done. I love watching your videos. Hope the next project will be straight after 😉🤘 but it looks amazing
Better than that Gary... this one aint over by a long way yet.. im getting all the cycle parts ready, repainted and refitted, then all thats left is the bodywork.. im not finished with that yet, and have some serious re-design work planned.. stuff that i think will be pretty popular and welcomed by those who have been following this... and the final paint is planned at last.. which will really make the whole thing come together.. then, after all that.. Yeah, ill be straight into the next one as soon as i can source the right donor..
have thought about it.. but i cant find any straight bars with that exact pull back in a fat bar... they all have a lift upwards like the ones on the XJR... so ill leave it there for now, and make that decision later..
Nice one Dell boy, this is a really exciting stage of the build. Been following most of the build to date, and gotta say I love your work. Not sure I’d have the patience or skill to do what you have achieved coz it’s just awesome. You’ll have big withdrawal when it’s finished mate.👍🏻🏍✊️
Probably in the next couple of months, have to get the money together, and the project is eating money at the moment, tyres, parts, paint etc.. but spring time is the plan..
I bet you are working on it every minute you get and piling up the videos.Once it gets to the stage its in now its hard to not work on it.The end of the project is within sight !
Sure am John, using the long breaks during my split shifts, effective use of time and all that! And although it looks like I'm nearly done, there's a fair way to go yet!
I would rather be working on a motorcycle project rather than the 3 weeks of decorating I have just finished. I needed a distraction from the Canadian winter ! 8 more weeks and the end is in sight and then the grocery cart and the bike can come out of hiding.
That was awesome ,the paint job came off beautifully. I wish you were my teacher in person. Have a wonderful day, enjoy riding God bless you and Penny.
Hi Paul, always great to hear from you, hope you're keeping well... soon be Spring and we can get out and play aye...unless you live in California and it's always hot there lol... have a wonderful weekend , 'see you Saturday' ha ha
Moonfleet41 sorry to say I'm stuck in Chicago Illinois, south side , Bridgeport and it's only Wednesday 7:38 p.m. right now... and I'm about to eat dinner at a restaurant. I'm at the chicken Chinese broccoli with pineapples and rice and hot tea.
Delboy you legend. Watch your videos and your advice and guidance has helped me so much. I'm a newbie rider at 33. Before I was scared to do my own maintenance. Thanks Phillip, that's very kind of you, am glad the videos have been able to inspire you, ride safe and keep in touch, all the best, Del
That's probably the best testimonial anyone could have given Del !!! It's what he set out to do all those years ago.. Lovely to hear :-)
It's nice to see it transform into your vision. I do like the build.
Thank you again
Thank you most kindly my friend, having fun!
Its really coming together now and looking great
Thanks Mike, that's very kind of you...
Dear sir when I first got hooked into utoob (being a compulsive bike n scooter fetler ...!!!!)your channel was my first to watch still do...learned a lot off you .. big thanks...regarding people's negative whinging .."..go watch somthing else.."
hey Carol, i couldn't put it better myself.. thanks for your kind feedback my friend.. Del.
Thanks for watching mate... appreciated
Nothing to worry about then, looking forward to the upcoming vids.
Looking good Del, its all coming together. Penny and you have a good week. cheers
Cheers buddy, you too aye..

Nice build man,
but i don´t think you should use Stainless Bolts on such things like the Risers, because they could Snap off.

Thank you my friend, really appreciate your kind understanding!
Del can you post a link in the next video to the tap you have been using. Thanks
Hi Luke, here's a link to it my friend, it's a basic metric set that I use all the time:

Yes I'm looking forward to lathe work.
