Great striker of Italian football, Gianluca Vialli passed away on January 6, 2023, at the age of 58, after a battle with cancer. An idol for Sampdoria, Juventus/ITA and Chelsea/ENG, he played in the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, representing the Italian national team.
Vialli first appeared as a youngster with the local Cremonese team.
In 1984 he transferred to Sampdoria, and is still one of the highlights in what would be the club's most glorious period.
In addition to winning the Italian Cup three (3) times, he led Samp to the unprecedented title of the Italian Championship - Serie A, in 1991. He scored 19 goals in the season.
