- Addu City is a city in Maldives that consists of the inhabited islands of the southernmost atoll of the archipelago. Addu City is the second-largest urban area in Maldives, in terms of population, and is one of the two urban areas to get the status of "city" other than the capital city, Malé, and Fuvamulah.
In the Addu Atoll, the Canareef resort is accessible by speedboat from Gan International Airport, which is 18 km away.
Nice village in Hulhumeedhoo to explore by bicycle.
Hulhumeedhoo or Hulhudhoo-Meedhoo is an island located on the northeastern point of Addu City. Even though it is the 5th largest island in the Maldives, Hulhumeedhoo has roughly the land area of New York's Central Park

We stayed and Hulhumeedhoo and its nice that you can see and visit villages and interact with locals as the Canareef resort is not located on a private island. 👍
Great video! May I ask how where is the place shown in the video at 3 min (looking so turquoise) And how did you go to Hulhumeedhoo? from airport? not from the resort? thx
Hi Jingting, thanks for watching the video. We stayed at the Canareef resort and the resort arranged a transfer and boat to pick up us from the airport. We then visit the whole island using the bike from the resort. The place shown in the video at minute 3 is the chanel between hulhumeedhoo Island and South palm resort island. I hope it helps :)
@@jorgeramostravel thx for your detailed info and patience. that sounds great! Have you guys stayed in other resorts on Gan island and how do you feel about Canareef? We are planning to go there this Dec and make decisions between Canareef, Equator village, and South Palm resort.. We found out there's a very long road on the island of Equator village that allows you to cycle or motorbiking and some ppl do the local island hopping and bushy island there. So are there similar things you can do while staying in Canareef resort? thx!!
Hi Jingting, although we landed in Gan Island, we didn't have time to visit it. We went straight to Canareef by boat. The resort has bikes and we used those to get out of the resort and visit the rest of the island, including the village. The resort itself was lovely and we had a great experience there. However, bear in mind this was before covid. Things may have changed with the lack of tourists. South Palm Resort is located in a separate island and at the time there was no way to get there unless there was a boat.
