After an overnight stop in the sleepy village of Pak Beng, we continued on our journey from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang on our luxury Mekong river cruise. It was a misty and chilly morning on the boat. We were lucky enough to see Elephants bathing in the river and we stopped at Pak Ou Caves, a cave filled with over 4,000 Buddha statues, and the whisky village.
This as easily been one of our favourite rite experiences whilst travelling so far!

Hey there, hope this comment finds you well! I'm headed to do this cruise in the coming month and we recently read that in order for us to be considered leaving thailand we had to fly visa wise. Did you come across any trouble with leaving thailand and continuing your travels this way?

Hi Layla! We flew into thailand and took the mekong river cruise out to loas. We never heard of any issues leaving the country this way and didnt experience any problems crossing the boarder. Incaze things have changed in the time since we went, just drop a message to your tour operator I'm sure they will know. Do remember to have some passport photos taken in thailand for you Loas visa! Have the best time 🙌🙌🙌

We went in December, just make sure you bring layers for the morning. Once the sun is out though it is lovely. Have an incredible time!!
