Bob Mould was my favourite artist at 14, and he is still there 30+ years later. I have never met anyone in my life who is a Bob Mould fan. It's sad. It's like walking around the planet, knowing a secret that no one wants to hear. There's definitely not a week, and probably not a day, that I don't listen to Bob Mould, remember one of his lyrics, or have one of his melodies in my brain. He is incredible. Underrated. A true artist. Thank you Bob!
one of my favourites at 15/16, and still one of my favourites almost 26-27 years later (im 42 now). I got to watch him play live, in Nottingham in the UK around 12-13 years ago, and I got to thank him for his music after he came off stage. A gig i won't forget.
This man was with me at age 12 in my childhood bedroom on my stereo and he’s with me now at age 51 on my iPad. Bob’s music has been the soundtrack of my life. GOAT.
Great art...especially music, can do that. I, too, am too old and disabled to confront head-to-head, but I try to make my voice heard. Tyranny must be confronted; hopefully wthout violence but confronted none-the-less. As Bela Bartok wrote(I'm paraphrasing), "If I had stayed(in Budapest, during WW2) it would have implied that I condoned Nazism." He could have stayed comfortably in Europe, but he sought asylum in the US. He was sponsored by 2 of his piano students from his time as a professor at the music academy in Budapest; Fritz Reiner and Georg Solti. He took commisions and wrote his CONCERTO FOR ORCHESTRA and his 3rd PIANO CONCERTO. The latter was composed in Ashville NC, convalescing from treatments for leukemia , in order to provide his Wife Ditta, herself a concert pianist, a work by which she could earn a living after his death. He chose to live as a stranger in relative poverty rather than live a life of ease in occupied Europe. His 3rd Pno Cto is a magnificent piece; the 2nd movement contained his last example of "night music"; using orchestra and piano color to evoke the sound of nature at night. He fought with "weapons of the spirit."
The ENTIRE album is spectacular!! Bob Mould continues to amaze with everything he does! From the first song to the last, it takes you on a journey and never lets up! I guarantee that it will be an album you play over and over again! Why Bob has not gotten his just due is beyond me!!!!
Errr... As an audiogeek/cheapskate I would buy any music cds I could find in charity shops. Soooo.... I found Hüsker Dü. Then..... Sugar. Even if Bob's old enough to help his carers by filling his commode; his music NEVER gets old......
Bob was there for my sad confused teenage rage. Here he is lost and angry, facing a layoff, making a new life. I guess that's what they mean by the voice of a generation.
it's so weird it seems like yesterday I was reading a thrasher magazine then going skating and listening to Husker Du where has time gone I still love finding my old box of tapes sometimes just to look through them and just putting one in and hitting play starting from where I left off from probably 20 year's or more ago lol and how some of them are hard to hear from all the wear on the tape especially my old circle jerks tape now I can ask a kid that is probably the age I was when I first started listening to punk rock if they like husker du or agent orange and the smile and giggle and say who is that a real name of a band lol
Saw Bob and the Huskers in PHX AZ in '83. 35+ yrs ago. He said "Hi, we're Husker Du", then they TORE through a 40 min set, non stop. The kids nearly rioted for "More Du!, more Du!" They played another 4 or 5 songs back to back, then we were all spent.
I normally avoid videos like the plague, but this is just so perfect. So cathartic. This is my life as a 43 year old punker that has painted himself into a corner of responsibility.
Kᶦᶫᶫᵉʳᵃᶰᵈᵘᶰᵈᵉʳᵗᵃᵏᵉʳ dude I'm 46 and it's been husker du on thru. Old school punk myself. i just put a descendents tat on my leg this week. don't want to die without giving tribute to the icons.
I like this song because it is telling the truth about the music industry. There are artists who do independent music or go on independent labels because the music industry does not care about originality. All they care about is SELLING AS LONG AS YOU SELL YOUR SOUL!! ILLUMINATION!!
I keep telling everyone to go and catch him with Jason and Jon. I caught him in Detroit and it blew my mind. I've been going to shows for the past 25 years and I've never seen one band leave more of themselves on the stage than what I saw that night. I can't say that any of them has ever been better than right now. If he gets close enough again, I'm doing it! :)
Ugh man!! Thanks for keeping the rock alive!!!! This is why I'm proud to be from MN. I hadn't discovered Sugar until 2004-05 and was blown away. Now with Silver Age...man. I'm scared of this ever ending! I'm 35 and I feel like I have a duty to pick up the guitar again every time I listen to this album. It's kind of emotional, maybe I'm just sentimental, but I feel like there's a lot I haven't done musicaly. Too bad I live in the middle of nowhere in Michigan now.
First saw Bob as the DJ between sets at the Foo Fighters' gig at MK Bowl last year, my god Bob truly has a brilliant sound. Great voice and nice punchy riffs. I'd love to see this guy at his own concert
Bob is a tree hugger! Welcome my friend. I'm still warming up to the song. To my ears, it doesn't sound very new but at least it's rocking and fun. Based on my decades of love of his music, I predict that I'll love this song in 3-2-......
Bob Mould is the coolest ever! I'm privileged and looking forward to seeing him on March 1, 2019 in L.A. It's like seeing an old friend being that I've listened to his bands/music since the 80s. Thank You Bob for all the many years of great music.
Astonished! First saw Bob Mould at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. circa 1989? I was 16 with a bullshiz I.D. Then Workbook. Then Black Sheets of Rain. Then SUGAR. Then ... a VIDEO with all flags flying. Bob Mould is a sailor. A Salty Old Bob. I am on-board. Love this video.
Grew up on Husker and Sugar.... this continues the greatness. The video reminds me of my life after being laid off from a prominent high-tech company at 43 - strong parallels. I left my soul at that company and found it again in the woods.
WoW! Talk about back with a bang; this is brilliant. If this is an indication of how good the new album is gonna be, it could well end up being the best thing he's released in years. LoVe It...
Saw Husker Du many times and they changed my life as did Sugar and Bob's solo stuff but this new material is certainly as strong as his earlier stuff-love it!
I would say, outside of Modulate, he really hasn't lost his form. This album is certainly a firecracker of rock n roll passion and emotion, but he hasn't really lost a step along the way. In my opinion. Cheers mate!
This song and the video recalls a common situation where sometimes go to the isolation is the best form of rebuilding things. Great and inspiring song!!! The solution is always on ourselves (with God's help)
Bob mould is so freakin awesome!! I'm SO sad I've just found out I will miss him play the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival as we fly back to the UK on Friday...gutted!!
I started out so starry-eyed Full of hope and wonder And I wore flowers in my hair Not aware I'd been defiled I know it's going down (How can I believe you?) Been a monster fan for over 35 years and still listening to this guy.
Copper Blue is, by far, the best album of the 90's. This album bring that sonic assault of Sugar back in full force. Bob Mould is a god.
Agreed!!!
Errrr.....And Then The Flying Spaghetti Monster (All Hail His Noodly Appendages) invented 'The Living End'.............
No.
Im in ❤
Bob Mould.. A King
Thank Bob fer god.
Thank Bob for creation, too

Not GOAT but I believe the rest of what you said
@@t-man5196 Can you name another artist who created hundreds of songs with chord progressions that were not similar?
@@allenvestal4474 not sure, maybe. Afew of my guesses would be the Beatles and maybe the Replacements/Paul Westerberg, but I'm not sure
@@t-man5196 I saw the Replacements in Dallas circa 1990. The acoustics were bad even though the soundboard had at least 34 channels.

Thank God for Bob Mould.
Thank Bob Mould for God.
Thank God for Paul Westerberg.
You can hear it as I cry God I hope it's not too late can I try to make it up to you somehow. This line always hits me like a brick.
i'm chronically sick and too old to make something of myself and watching this... it's making me feel something powerful, almost cried
I know. But never say never. Listening to Bob and HD certainly helps.
Crush it

So good. Of all the times to be born, being thankful that I was here at the same time as Bob Mould.
The ENTIRE album is spectacular!! Bob Mould continues to amaze with everything he does! From the first song to the last, it takes you on a journey and never lets up! I guarantee that it will be an album you play over and over again! Why Bob has not gotten his just due is beyond me!!!!
He jas. People like us have given to him what he has earned
im not sure what about a song makes me cry, but this one does it for me everytime.
Errr... As an audiogeek/cheapskate I would buy any music cds I could find in charity shops. Soooo....
I found Hüsker Dü.
Then.....
Sugar.
Even if Bob's old enough to help his carers by filling his commode; his music NEVER gets old......
Mould is a force of nature. Huge sound, amazing tone.
I taught my son how to play air guitar to this song seven years ago, still going strong.
Bob writes the most beautiful pop tunes I've ever heard
Bob Mould's one of the father's of alternative music. The dude's considered a genius by most anyone who ever mattered in the Alt rock scene.
Bob was there for my sad confused teenage rage. Here he is lost and angry, facing a layoff, making a new life. I guess that's what they mean by the voice of a generation.

Ditto Jeff! My kids call me the "Silver back punk rocker". Husker Du inspired me to pick up a guitar back in 80's.
Tattooedsailor Same as I dude.
Fuck that! Once a PUNK always a PUNK!

Is Bob the best songwriter ever? Yes. Yes, he is.
Don't be ridiculous.
Remarkable song! Bob Mould is so underappreciated. He is great live and continues to make outstanding music year after year! Viva la Bob!
All these years he's never let me down but this remains a new classic.
Bob has been the soundtrack of my life since Zen arcade. Welcome back, mature energy and poetry.
so much to glean from this song, this video, which is a work of art in itself, and from the great Bob Mould
Awesome. I love it every time Bob comes back. It's like a good friend you haven't seen in a while. Killer music as always
Ugh man!! Thanks for keeping the rock alive!!!! This is why I'm proud to be from MN. I hadn't discovered Sugar until 2004-05 and was blown away. Now with Silver Age...man. I'm scared of this ever ending!

Bob looks like a super warm and awesome human doesnt he?
He is.
Friend of mine met him at a brunch place in Chicago once, couldn't resist talking to him, and he was totally humble and gracious and down-to-earth.
Most musicians that dont get enough credit are. Either way a more intelligent yet small following is better than a brainwashed one.
Agree, he is a superb human-being, so strong yet so vulnerable...
He is that plus. Met him multiple times.
First saw Bob as the DJ between sets at the Foo Fighters' gig at MK Bowl last year, my god Bob truly has a brilliant sound. Great voice and nice punchy riffs. I'd love to see this guy at his own concert
I cant get enough of this tune!!!!! Thank you Bob!!!!!!
I don't care who bought you here, seriously, what does it matter as long as you got here. All Hail Mr Mould, genius is as genius does.
It's the chord that the verse starts on; I hear it too. Love it, love it, love it, love it!
Since the HüDü-days one of my biggest musical influences - from songwriting to guitar playing - and he still amazes me with every new release!!!!
it's been 25 years since i heard him the first time, and the old man still manages to give away so much hope...
thanks bob. you're a beautiful man :)
30+ years and one of the best things he's ever done
What a great song. Really nice to hear Bob going back to a more Sugar type sound. Straight forward rock and roll. Thanks Bob!
He hasn't lost any of his magic. Great song and a super riff.
Bob Mould writes perfect power pop songs in the way rest of us eat dinners
This is what happens when musical geniuses dont die young. Stay alive.
Still my idol as a grey bearded fogie!!
Close to tears...So Good to hear Bob again...I am again 21!!!
Bob is a tree hugger! Welcome my friend. I'm still warming up to the song. To my ears, it doesn't sound very new but at least it's rocking and fun. Based on my decades of love of his music, I predict that I'll love this song in 3-2-......
Bob Mould is such an underrated legend. I love him.
No such thing as an underrated legend.
i love this Bear, forever and always, Bob is a music god
Portland OR - great video cameos in PDX!

As there should be.
So glad I've had the opportunity to meet this great man.
SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOOOOO GREAT!!!!!!! This makes me insanely happy. Love you, Bob!
He is at the top of his game again and it is so good to hear.
Grew up on Husker and Sugar.... this continues the greatness. The video reminds me of my life after being laid off from a prominent high-tech company at 43 - strong parallels. I left my soul at that company and found it again in the woods.
Pours his guts into it as usual. 30+ yrs of top-notch music. Bravo.
Brilliant song from a brilliant album. Silver Age
30 years I've waited to see Bob, loved Husker Du since day 1, roll on 20th in Manchester!
Bob Mould... just keeps getting better... excellent video..I'm awestruck ..
Outstanding - Best album since Copper Blue! Thanks Bob, love your work!
Best song and maybe album of the year. This video is perfect. So many of us are right there.
one of those songs you just want to hit replay on, over and over. classic Bob, definitely back in the sweet Sugar zone.
This is a fucking great track.
Silly little rabbit holes. Super glad I’m here!
LOVE!
Love it! Cant wait to listen to it a full volume in my car
I love this song.
Amazing work! Such a great hook!!!! Loved Sugar, love this one. Sounds great loud on the car stereo!!
WoW! Talk about back with a bang; this is brilliant. If this is an indication of how good the new album is gonna be, it could well end up being the best thing he's released in years. LoVe It...
Tingles down the spine by the third listen - up there with his best - wouldn't be out of place on Copper Blue or Beaster.....superb
Saw Husker Du many times and they changed my life as did Sugar and Bob's solo stuff but this new material is certainly as strong as his earlier stuff-love it!
Oh, my god. Oh, my god. And then oh, my god some more. You're beautiful, Bob.
looking good in your older age Bob!!!
He's a big hot bear now ;0)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!!!!!! Love you Bob!!! Anyone remember when Bob's Flying V, was on display at Garage D'or record shop in Minneapolis?
Bob Mould IS a musical Genius! PERIOD!
I would say, outside of Modulate, he really hasn't lost his form. This album is certainly a firecracker of rock n roll passion and emotion, but he hasn't really lost a step along the way.
In my opinion. Cheers mate!
This song delivers so much and you never want it to end.
I cannot stop listening to this song! Even after the millionth time listening to it my hands still shake!!
man i just keep coming back to this one ... and it got me to pull out good ole 'candy apple grey,' an earlier masterwork by this man and the husker's
Bob Mould still knows how to get shit done. This is probably the most underrated single in 2012.
Everything Bob creates is Gold.
No.
Pozitivní energie dávající novou sílu, chuť a motivaci. Dobře Bob Mould.
Great new album, he's rocking hard and beautiful like in Copper Blue
I saw Bob at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin this year. Missed Lucero to keep watching him. Glad I did too. I had no Idea he was the singer from Husker Du.
Only recently discovered Bob Mould. What a voice!
the best fuckin songwriter. Fat hooks, melody and huge guitars. Thank you for always sharing your talent. :)
No.
He does. I started listening to Husker Du through GD cause Billie named Husker Du as a major influence in one of his interviews.
great! love you Bob Mould. since 1984!
Father of all that sounds today !!! great concert in Argentina two days ago !!! love him !
In 2012, i found this video funny and pretensious.
In 2022, i relate myself to everything went Bob through.
Never stopped absolutely killing it.
The first proper-sounding Bob material in over 15 years!
If Bob made it, it sounds like proper Bob.
I started out so starry-eyed
Full of hope and wonder
And I wore flowers in my hair
Not aware I'd been defiled
I know it's going down
(How can I believe you?) Karma comes around
I know this ride, you must be there by my side
You going down, I must be descending
I didn't want to play the song
That gave people so much hope
I turned my back and turned away
Here's the rope that made me choke
I know it's going down
(How can I believe you?) Karma comes around
You can see it in my eyes
You can read it on my face
You can hear it as I cry
God, I hope it's not too late
Can I try to make it up to you somehow?
Can I try to make it up to you somehow?
Now my race is finally run
And as I tumble to the Sun
All these dreams I can't achieve
Brought me crashing to my knees
My descent has no begun
All the music left undone
My world, it is descending.
Triple espresso Bob? Used to serve him at the Factory Cafe in Greenwich Village back in the late 90's. Awesome guy in person!
Punk legend. His voice and his sound is one of a kind. Punk is so not dead.
Punk is an ethos, not a sound.
Love it Bob, coming to see you Electric Ballroom ... will be third time!!! You're amazing!
Yes, it was filmed in Oregon. Around the 1:26 mark you can see a phone number with the area code 503. That is the area code for northwestern Oregon.
saw him last night in Charlotte. go see his solo show if it comes near you. Dude still Rocks!
Pure honesty. Welcome back Bob!
Can't...stop...playing...
This is the best song I have heard this year
Classic Bob Mould!!!
The new record is excellent! As much as I enjoy Bob's acoustic and electronic influenced stuff, he's at his best (and not many are better) when he writes this kind of wonderful heavy guitar-based pop song. Fantastic stuff!!
