@@MarySchumann I'm just happy to be moving there I'm going to be getting married soon to my soon to be wife who is from there everybody keeps telling me that it's a big change it's pretty funny because I have neighbors that moved here from Wisconsin and right across the street from them are neighbors that moved from Illinois haha and they're telling me that they got away from the Midwest cause of the winters and that Minnesota takes the title of being the coldest of the cold so I'm just trying to prepare for what's to come 🌨️❄️ 🥶

I work from home but my job only allows us to move to a couple of different states, most of them being the south and the Southwest and I’m not really interested in the south LOL the only other states were Minnesota and Ohio. Just want something with four seasons🙂
It’s funny because I think a lot of people have the opposite idea- seems like they want heat all the time- I’m in favor of seasons! Also hearing a lot of people that can live anywhere and choosing MN. 😊

Asha! I apologize for not responding earlier - make sure you have ahat, gloves, warm boots and a thick wind proof coat. We generally say layers are best here - they make pockets of warm air and also give some flexibility. You definitely want the extremities covered!
Layer up.janaury and February are the coldest months here and get some snow pants it helps.one more thing,try ice fishing.experiance it while you're here
I could definitely survive winter in Minnesota with the right clothes, but in Florida my mental well being definitely wouldn’t survive because I love the winter weather.
Hey Mary ,, i used to live in MN for my 2 years collage ,, then i left MN to Atlanta to continue my University degree i lived in Atlanta almost three years ,, love it as a city ,, but i don't like the ppl over their ,, be honest with you :)) ,, i didn't like the winter in MN(being from Kuwait of course i won't like the snow :)) ) but i loved the ppl over there ,, they are so kind , peacefull , and freindly ,, lovely ppl ,,, my quesition for you ,, ,, what did make you to move from atlanta to MN?? ,, because ppl looking for good and nice weather and big city ,, i know MN in Spring through Fall has beautiful weather but in winter is awful , but if you asked me what did u prefer to live , what your choice ? well , definitely i will pick MN ,, for one reason , is ppl are sooooooo nice and save to live :)***
I actually lived in Chicago before MN , and I am originally from the midwest, so I feel very at home here. My husband took a new job in MN and here we are! I liked all the places I've lived for different reasons - loved living in the city of Chicago when I was young and single, but now that we are in MPLS I love the smaller city lifestyle which is easier to manage when you have a family. I laugh because someone said to me "Minnesota isn't for everyone." and that is definitely true - but it IS for a lot of people! Many people love winter (me among them). Thanks for watching!

You're asking someone that loves winter and hates to be hot... There are a few times when I think it's a bit "much" but overall I think if you are open to new experiences and also invest in the right clothing you'll be fine. I think its alarming(?) when I see people here in winter with a light jacket and parts of their bodies not covered (hands, head, boots on feet) - winter is serious, but if you treat it with respect you'll be 100% fine. And you may like a change of pace for a year or two! MN is known for having high educational standards too, so I would hate to think about giving up that opportunity because of weather. :)

I’m also from Puerto Rico and I’m moving to MN in the fall to pursue my master’s degree!
