I was there for all three days of the Grand BINIverse concert. It's one of the best concerts in the Philippines in decades. They are one of the few artists who did a 360 degree stage in Araneta Coliseum. And they are the first Filipino girl group to be able to have a 3-day sold out centerstage concert in that venue which is considered the premiere events venue in the Philippines.
LIVE!! Performance is sacred to Filipinos. They don't joke about it. NO FAKERY and DECEPTION. FAKE SINGING is not allowed. I'm no Filipino. I am German and I really appreciate Filipinos love for it.
I've been there 3 nights, 1st day at VIP.. hands down, BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE! The Production, the Live band and Orchestra, the Dancers, the Singers, and BINI themselves..
3:11 Filipinos are used to live vocals and they expect that pop groups to do the same not realizing that the heavy super synchronized choreography and member vocal line distribution switches (both melody and harmony) make singing live extremely difficult. Above all that they still expect all songs to be heavy on belting. They do not realize that such level of live and heavy belting singing with difficult choreo dance performance is 100 times harder when done by a group like SB19 or BINI instead of just one or two or three artists. That is why it is such impressive that they deliver
Very well said! It really makes the PPOP groups actual SUPER groups. And it's so great that the world is now seeing it as BINI elevates to international superstardom!
the popularity of BINI among Filipinos and the global diaspora of Filipinos will ensure that they can fill venues wherever they go, globally. And this will definitely pique the curiosity of those new to BINI.
4:31 filipinos have this concept called Kapwa. Kapwa (fellowship or togetherness) is a core value that explains Filipinos' interpersonal behaviour. The term generally refers to a shared identity whereby people bond together despite differences in wealth or social status. Kapwa is related to the collectivistic nature of Filipino society. This is why if you know a filipino they will invite you to everything, they will share everything with you, they will make you eat all the food at the get togethers and parties. I didn't realize it was something we did nor that there's a term and concept for it until these documentaries start coming out about the culture. Anyways, what i was trying to say, was that in their eyes, it's not a competition even if they are a competitor. If you look at SB19 concerts.... even the AAA concert in manila, they didn't just perform themselves but shared it with another group &Team. it's the essence of being filipino. At the billboard award in korea BINI and SB19 were there, and they made sure to shoutout their names during the interviews. it's great seeing this type of uplifting community.
Bini beyond their talent, beauty, charm and work ethic were blessed to be in an organization that knew what they were doing. Star Magic and Star Music stables THE BIGGEST AND BEST talents in the Philippines. These labels are under the umbrella of ABSCBN who you can equate to SM in kpop. The guests you saw appear on stage are OPM (Orginal Pilipino Music) royalties. Having these artists perform with them gives them the seal of approval, extending their reach to audiences who may not be into idol music. These artists set the standards of live performance in the industry. And while they are no longer as prolific in their heydays, they are now actively moulding the new generation of talents.
Awesome, great information, thank you! And it's so reassuring, as the public becomes more emotionally invested in BINI, that BINI is within a top company. Thanks again!
Bini just made a history, The first Filipino OPM P Pop Group to perform a three-day sold-out concert with a center stage in Araneta Coliseum. Next year (February 15) they will be having a grand biniverse repeat at Philippine arena, i mean they just need a bigger venue. Araneta coliseum just cant cater all the blooms 😊
We Filipinos love good live shows, especially when it comes to concerts. We love it when there's a bit of visual pageantry involved, and we can also both sing and dance along with the performers on stage. That's what endears the Filipino audience to many artists who have performed here. That is why many western and kpop artists who have staged concerts here incorporated their own takes on popular local tracks, because they knew well that it brings them closer to the audience. They also have to sing it well so that the audience can join them too.
PPop's x factor is their live vocal performances. Because it's so easy to tank their careers by not being able to sing live if they claim to be singers. Some of the stand outs with BINI are SB19, Alamat, G22, KAIA. All of these groups have performed on Wish Bus, which is the ultimate test for any pop group.
Awesome! Looks like I have more groups to become acquainted with! Thank you! And you're absolutely right about the Wish Bus performances being the ultimate test of an idol group!
Hi Keith, Fyi, their next song "Blink Twice" will be released at their next concert next year in Feb. 15. The concert will be 4x bigger than this Grand Biniverse. They will be performing in the Philippine Arena, the biggest indoor Arena in the world where BP and Twice already performed and they will become the first Filipino act to hold a concert there.
Great information! Thank you! I can't wait! It might really be the inflection point in BINI global superstardom! And thank you for watching and commenting!
i can imagine! can’t believe i was there to witness the concert live! could not stop singing and dancing along to them and yelling. it was so fun and alive and electric. all performances was so enjoyable and entertaining. just as the girls were so much fun interacting with the audience in between performances
BINI slayed those 3 nights sold out Araneta concert. I watched the 1st night via live stream because I could not secure a ticket. That GBV concert was the best I have seen. I am 50 yrs old I was like a proud father to these amazing 8 girls whose hardwork, patience, determination and talent are inspirational. OT8.
You mentioned a feel of "family operation". ABS-CBN's slogan is "Kapamilya", which is, family member. It is evident that they adhere to their core brand value, which manifests by taking care of their loyal talents. They have Star Magic to produce and manage the artists/actors; Star Music produce to songs; Star Cinema produce to films; and, TFC, the international cable channel of ABS, to show content abroad.
Wow, that's amazing, I think BINI's company is one of the very best in the idol industry. They just seem to have a caring ambition that's really wonderful.
Yes! BINI captures such a huge audience! It's the goal of every idol group but extremely few can do it, and BINI has, and they're just getting started!
Not sure if you're already aware but the first 2 of 3? chapters of their docuseries are already available on iWantTFC. The 3rd which will likely cover the Grand Biniverse isn't out yet. Not sure if they'll extend to more chapters as they hold a repeat concert at a much bigger venue and embark on their World Tour next year. Crossing my fingers that they drop them all on a more mainstream global streaming platform before their tour.
some BINI members were casted in these MVs as lead actress: * Aiah - BINI by Jeremy G. * Maloi - Dilaw by Maki * Jhoanna - Maharani by Alamat, and Misteryoso by Cup of Joe * Stacey - Sining by Dionela fr. Jay-R
Look at Catseye, when performing at Wish Bus, there are comments complaining about the backtrack use in a LIVE Performance. They don't like it. The world should learn from the Philippines that LIVE Performance does not need to be complicated. Just a mic and genuine singing is all what is needed.
1 Lip Sync = Career Death According to Bini Colet, there's no point in vocal training if performers are just going to lip-sync. Bini dislikes loud backing tracks, and if a member is on vocal rest, another member will sing their lines instead.
BINI sang live, performed high-energy choreo for 3 hours, for 3 consecutive days, but because they had a live band acting as supporting vocals, believe it or not, they still got hate. 🤦🏽♂️ Granted, these were bashers, but still, it’s so frustrating. If BINI sings 95% live, they complain how it’s not live. When it’s 100% live, they find something else to hate on, like their merch is overpriced, or something ridiculous.
Yes, it's a shame some people behave that way. The best thing to do is ignore them since their complaints are meritless. BINI did amazingly well, and they're just getting started!
@ Yes, I generally do not engage with bashers. But it’s sad when there’s people in Philippine media, people with a huge platform, entertain these ideas, sometimes siding with the bashers, and those unfamiliar with BINI watch/read their content and believe what they say. Sometimes it’s hard to ignore misinformation, but I agree... let’s just ignore 😅. BINI has a lot more supporters in the Philippines than there are bashers, who are thankfully just a small minority.
Yes, sadly, NewJeans is having major problems. I need to factor in their re-debut. I hope it turns out well, because I'm a big fan. And thank you so much for commenting!
nowadays, kpop culture is slowly dying in the philippines caused of labels and groups are so fixated and focused on visuals rather than talents of their idols, you don't deserve the title 'singer' if you lip synced in the philippines, it's a career suicide and causes filipinos to cancel you right away if you did lip synced. that's why idols are called "performers" not actors or actresses, you perform, you sing, you dance and not solely just to look pretty on stage, you better quit being an idol and change career and just be an actress or a model.
