Modification's sole purpose is to make your bike perform better and give it a unique stance. It's not a valid argument that this modification is going to void warranty or you cannot claim the insurance. As for the advantage, there are huge advantages, suspensions are one of the best modification you can do to improve the performance of the bike, it's not always about speed and top end and acceleration, handling of the bike comes first , the agility to handle better on turns and perform a clean exit from the turn can only be achieved with good tyres and suspension, the total weight that you are reducing on the moving part of the suspension is necessary for good cornering
