  • Cocoa farming is not the easiest way to make a living in Nigeria, but more and more small farms are popping up.
The drop in the price of oil has led to greater investment in the business of cocoa, which once thrived in Nigeria. And for some, it is proving to be a pathway out of poverty.

Hope they also invest into the value added part of the cocoa business... i.e refine and turn it into chocolate palates and export those and also produce end-consumer products (i.e chocolate bars, sweets etc.) that they can export and sell in the country. That is where the real money will be.

The nuts are easier to transport and store, heat destroys chocolate.
