I always liked how Pat Boone sang so naturally without screaming or forcing his voice which was so great to hear. I was 12 when I first heard this song in 1958, I recall I was on a beach lying down enjoying the sun and this song played in Mother's transistor radio.
My grandfather would sit out in the yard and sing this.... after he'd had more than a few drinks. Ah memories.
Pat had that soft smooth deliverance on all his music. Great sound from the past.
OMG, the whistling is so adorable. LOL
His mischevious smile when he stands up and that "bethcha didn't think I did it" -- he must have been a real heartbreaker!
He's on sirius xm on the 50s or 60s channel. I don't remember which one
I'm using my wife's account to comment. I'm Bill. I'm a ballad singer and could once whistle like that. Now it comes and goes. I learned to whistle from my Dad and uncle both of whom were great. Also good singers. The singing part is much easier than the whistling.
1958 sitting on the sand on Jones Beach listening to this song! Lots of good memories!
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,

Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,
On a day like today
We passed the time away
Writing love letters in the sand
How you laughed when I cried
Each time I saw the tide
Take our love letters from the sand
You made a vow that you would always be true
But somehow that vow meant nothing to you
Now my broken heart just aches
With every wave that breaks
Over love letters in the sand
Now my broken heart just aches
With every wave that breaks
Over love letters in the sand
I was a child when my father has playing guitar and sang this song thats 70nd

Todos estos cantantes de mi epoca eran de verdad.. sin arreglos...👍⚘️⚘️
I like this song, which is still very good to hear and not only Pat's voice is great, but the orchesta backing him plays very good too.
Gorgeous altogether!! ❤😊
I listened to this music when I was learning english when I was a teenager in 1975. My teacher was a Boone fan and played this music in our class. I had never seen him on video.
That was wonderful. Pat Boone had the boy next door kind of image. He had such a good voice, he was handsome, and always well dressed. He also sang really good songs. What more could we have asked for back in the late 50s and early 60s when he was very popular. He also sang really good songs.
Love him or hate him, he could sing and had a great voice.
Hi John! Good, Very good to listen to Pat. I'm a Boone fan. He's the best! In fact hei is! Listining to him, reminds me the good times when I was only a boy!
On this day in 1957 {Oct. 3rd} Pat Boone performed "Love Letters in the Sands" on the premier of his ABC-TV program 'The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom'.
Five months earlier on May 6th it entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; and on June 10th it peaked at #1 {for 5 weeks} and spent well over a half-year on the Top 100 {34 weeks}.
The record's B-side, "Bernardine", also charted, it reached #14 and stayed on the Top 100 for almost a half-year {25 weeks}.
Both songs were featured in the movie 'Bernardine'.
Love it!
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
I loved Oat Boone’s lovely melodic voice 🎶🎤🥰❤️ One of my favourites of the time 🥰💖💕
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
My heart cannot handle how beautiful everything in this video is. His smile, his hair, his mischievous smile, his voice.. ahhh beats Elvis almost any day!!
I love them both too!! I agree Pat Boone looks better than Elvis. I don't think he has him on vocal ability though but it's such a hard decision!!
Pat Boone got to bother the rockers and rollers when, in his records sang true Rock 'n' Roll, Rhythm & Blues, Rock-A-Ballads; and, when he sang on TV programs, he softened them. "Tutti Frutti", "Love Letters in the Sand" in his discs are true rock 'n' roll and rock-a-ballad, respectively. I prefer to hear his rock and roll and rock-a-ballads in his recordings - never live on tv.
Takes me back to my days at KU ( 1957-58 ) ! Will never forget
I knew the whistling part was coming up and I though 'is he going to whistle live'? His comment is like he is talking back to me 65 years later.
Good singer
What a man
I remember when this came out in 1957, I would have been about 12...
Che tempi..... ❤

Very beautiful song‼️👍😉Respect from Japan‼️🇯🇵😀
que guapo está🧎🏻♀️🤎
My professor of History of Rock HATES Pat Boone! That's why I checked him out haha
I don't know what your professor hates about Boone but most people denigrate him for being a less than rocking rocker. Well, Pat wasn't a rocker. He was a crooner who was trying to make the best of the transition from the old style singers to the new rock and roll. He was kind of caught in the middle. Boone was much better than people give him credit for.
HIstory of Rock professor? LMAO! No wonder kids are such dumbasses these days.
Not only am I madly in love with his music, his conservative values also make him extremely attractive to me. He seems to be a very educated and handsome fellow, even nowadays
Jenniffer Profitt madly in a love with a man who had no originality and stole music from black men and ripped them off.
Love this man no other voice so calm and 😎
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
Oh ! Loved Pat Boone ! Remember seeing him inApril Love !! He was my heart throb ❤️❤️❤️
This was a hit song in the 1931 and I like weird music like this. I'll never forget the time all the power went out in the summer and this was on a cassette in my car and I thought "what a perfect song for folks going nuts".
SAUDADE 💞💞💞💞
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
No karaoke version of this can even come close to his whistling, it was fantastic, not to mention his version of this great song. But his whistling is something to behold, a talent that is off the charts!
Imádom, és rengeteget táncoltam rá!
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,

Great singers rhythnm and Blues ballads 50s betweent Mr Par Bonnet.
I love Pat Boone 😊 his voice was heavenly and he was a gorgeous young man 🎶 is he still singing? Or did he retire from this completely for those commercials?
i only listened to the song cause my grandpa wants me to play it on my guitar lol .
One of the best male voices in the fifties. Elvis was good and had charisma but for me Pat's voice is better. And this song is so tender and brings to me so many remembrances of that year I was 12. I graduated from Elementary School then. Nice remembrances.
Muitooooo fã 💞💞
# 1 song on the day I was born!! :-)
. He's career is taking off in the mid to late 50's early 60's when rock was taking over and he was doing covers of R and B and rock black artists.
And not doing neither the songs or the artists, particularly Little Richard justice.
FANTASTICO FELICIDADES
❤
Heredé a Pat Boone de mi hermano mayor, que era un admirador de su estilo y sus canciones. Un hermoso recuerdo.
El mismo caso. Ahora mi hermano tiene 80 y yo 69. Ciudad de Mexico.

Growing up as a teenager, your song was one of my favorites and I still try to sing along with you on UA-cam.
Take care and God bless !!! Robert S. J. Hu August 26, 2020.
He whistles as well as Bing Crosby
Back when America was great.
He still is. Senile old crook Biden is the problem. England, January 2024.
Lackland A. F. Base June 1957. Can't forget that
Slim Whitman also did this song! Both Pat Boone and Slim Whitman were great crooners indeed!
I met Pat today at a book signing (he signed for over 600 people!) and he was incredibly kind and personable, I talked to him about the whistling solo, he attempted to whistle but had a dry mouth, so I whistled it for him and he totally lit up with a huge smile, it was one of the most wonderful moments of my life, I'll never forget it. God Bless Mr. Boone!
What a wonderful memory to have and share :)
