    Another great video, Mark! The tempura flounder looked awesome.... But getting the extra flavor added would surely make the difference.
    Thanks for your videos....

    I always have good luck actually seasoning the fish before dipping in batter and oiling the skewers.

    Good video! Like you said the oyster sauce sounds a little off putting but its not and is now a regular part of my stir fry base always. Thanks for doing tempura I have not tried that style yet.

    I don't know about you but When your hungry, taste won't be much of a factor at all. I will just indulge in it. Looks delicious! All grins here when you hooked up on that nice flounder, happy for ya. Send and make more videos! Keep safe! 😉👍

    Nice vid Mark. I fished that area back in the 70's from the canal at Cold Pass and Churchill Bayou. That canal and boat ramp was open to the public back then and you could rent a camp site for $3/night. I was thinking if the water temp was low and the bay was shallow, the fish might be stacked up in the deeper Cold Pass. It has really good current when the tide is moving. There have been many a 5-10lb flounder caught in that area where the pass, bayou and canal intersect. It was a regular fish highway. My biggest flounder there was 5 lbs. It was end to end and side to side in my 48 qt. igloo cooler.

    Mark a tip on cooking flounder is once it is cleaned. season it then put in the batter for a taster treat. also my favorite way to eat flounder is get a small 15 to 16 incher scale and gut out then open it like a butter fly in the middle. once done stuff old rice and crab meat with dice onion and carrot then put butter on top then wrap with foil to bake in the oven

    Mom and dad ran a tavern on the Polish Southside of Milwaukee 1950-57.....every friday night was Fish Fry ....for dozens and dozens of customers. She would always salt and pepper her fillets and take a mandolin and make paper thin slices of onion to layer between the fillets and let them "marinade for hours sometimes over nite.....time to cook---- discard the onions and bread them up.....2 pcs of fish (haddock) fries and cole slaw and a beer $1.25

    • @MDLRFishing
      @MDLRFishing  4 роки тому

      That’s the equivalent to our Gunnery Sergeant. We also have a Master Sergeant/First Sergeant E8. Our E9’s are similar as you stated. Sergeant Major for both branches but we also have the Master Gunnery Sergeant which stays in the technical field instead of becoming a disciplinarian/troop handler/advisor.

      MDLR Fishing Thanks Mark for explaining, One Team One fight. Keep bring these great videos, love watching them. But on another note, as you know we as retirees we live on a budget and knowing you love fishing like I do, there is a company next to you in Louisiana (Matrix Shad), they have a great bait box they offer every month. What you get may not add up to $29.00, but the baits are great. I do not advertise for them, just something you may like.

    Flounder need some help, flavor-wise. Pretty bland unless you really give them a boost with seasoning. I bet the tempura would be better with speckled trout.
