Since this is an old video and nobody’s commenting, I feel safe to ask this question lol. What if someone wanted to just make plain even weave fabric out of worsted weight yarn? Does weaving take more yarn than say CROCHET does? Am I limited to the thinner yarn that come on a cone? Thank you for these videos. They’re super helpful.

Good questions and thank you. You can use any size yarn to weave. Heavier yarn, like wool, makes great blankets. I use heavy cotton for placemats. Thinner yarn works well for tea towels, and light weight scarves. For both weaving and crochet you have less yarn waste than weaving. When putting yarn on a loom you use some to tie on to the front and back beams. When weaving a scarf or other items with fringe you can use this tied on yarn for the fringe. Other wise it is cut off and is called loom waste. However just like crocheting and knitting how much yarn you use depends on what you are making and what type of stitch you are using. Long answer… I hope it makes sense.

    Beautiful straps and other items.
As a raw beginner I'm enjoying your video.
A question:- can acrylic yarn can be used for loom weaving?

I have woven with it. As long as it is not too stretchy. A softer beat works best.
