As a former Charismatic, I can definitely state that there is almost no difference between all these teachings.
We should start a game „Charismatic or New Age/Thought?“ and show different short clips of some teachings and have the people guess

Another excellent episode from both of you! This is something near and dear to my heart because I have had a number of difficult things happen to me over the last 20 years, and some of them feel almost bizarre in how they've come about -- a freak car accident, my dad's death from medical malpractice, etc. I also have some chronic health conditions that make life difficult. But if I am going to praise and trust our God when things are going well, how much more must I praise and trust him when they're not!!!! And yet well-meaning Christians insist that my chronic pain is either the result of sin in my life or of my actually acknowledging that it is, in fact, chronic and that it is, in fact, painful. And when I tell them how very much the Lord Jesus has taught me through it all (humility, trust, the importance of BEING rather than DOING), even the praise directed to Him is seen as some sort of a negative confession. I expect this kind of foolishness from those who don't know Christ. But hearing from my brothers and sisters in the Church that my back pain is present simply because I acknowledge that I have back pain is really hard. Being told that my father died because I dared to be alarmed at hearing that he had sudden, untreated sepsis coursing through his body was absolutely crushing. But despite medical error and despite my own ill health, our God reigns, and it is not an act of piety or worship to lie in the face of difficulty or brazenly sneer at death.
This is probably the Long For Truth that I will share with the most people, and I thank you sincerely

Same situation. The church’s inability to accept the fact that I have permanent autoimmune disorders that cause chronic pain and chronic illness was the final straw in my walking away from belonging to a church. Toxic Positivity and New Thought (which undergirds the Prosperity Gospel) are gutting the church from the inside out. They are also destroying the mental health field and sneaking into the medical field as well. Sadly once a person gets damaged by this parasite they are prone to not seeking help again because the damage runs so deep.
"Positive Thinking" is already around longer... It was actually a secular fad for a while. Sure one can 'christen' that as well, if one wants to.
@keelyEmerine-Mix, Can so identify with you. As a new believer many years ago, right away I started hearing God wanted to heal me of the pain I had due to spinal issues. I was born with issues then went through abuse in a Catholic orphanage after losing my mother. The pressure I allowed other believers to put on me to be healed caused more pain. After hearing often I had a demon, or some unconfessed sin only caused me to be more silent. I sought healing rather than trusting in the Healer. Oftentimes it seems those that aren’t healed walk a lonely walk when it comes to people. After waking up to the lies I was taught in WOF, I no longer believed their lie that God is not sovereign, and my outcome in life was up to me to receive all the promises. I just surrendered to the Lord, desiring His will above all. Even though we were taught that’s a lack of faith. My desire is to know Him, and trust in Him regardless of circumstances. Just tonight a friend asked me if I’ve considered deliverance, due to chronic pain. Believers can be thoughtless when it comes to suffering. May I always respond in love and forgiveness.
Please keep me in prayer, that God will draw me back in faith and repentance. 🙏

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Trust only Him and He will make you holy, He will give you the power to live a holy life. He is already working on you since you know you need faith and repentance. Just trust Him to save you
@bossabassa364 amen. Thank you. I believe I have been. I've been delivered a few years ago of alcohol dependency, I stopped living a life of self harm, fornication, immorality, cursing, etc. I think I was having a wobble but love and appreciate the reply and amen🙏

Yep, I have a friend who teaches at her church, a women's Bible wellness/ yoga class. She admitted that its yoga but they're "not allowed to call it yoga" and they do the stretches while reciting Bible verses and speak positive things into existence... I'm like 😮

I have to be honest here. This video was hard to watch. The amount of blasphemy, mockery, and wicked thinking coming from this "movement" is extremely hard to watch. Hearing and seeing people twist, distort, and misrepresent the Gospel is nothing new, and most of us are used to seeing and hearing it by now, but this whole "movement" rises to unprecedented levels. It's so hard to watch people treat our Lord and Savior as just another person. Saying He is just someone we are actually superior to makes me sick. I'm so sorry to the Lord for all the wickedness, hatred, and ungratefulness people show towards Him. God Bless 🥰

Normally I can tolerate a whole video of bad "Christian" megachurch preachers, but once it gets to outright casting God as evil and unloving and trying to replace him with their "enlightened" ideas that are based on nothing but their own foolish desires... it's too much.

Thank you for this excellent video on "new thought" movement. It was and is pervasive in many Christian teachings on TV and radio that I've heard for 40 years since being a born again Christian. You could say I've been saturated with it without completely understanding it all in contrast to reality..but to a degree believing that I was somehow missing the high mark as I bumbled along in my lower simplicity....

Years before I was born again, I was drawn to one of these Unity churches. What you said about their shallow beliefs resonated with me because I left because the people were just so shallow. There was no depth there. They were all of a wealthier class or at least striving for that. Very worldly.

The big moment that my eyes were opened to this deception was when a certain former New Age teacher’s videos popped up on my feed and pointed out the heresy of what I was being taught for so many years. I thank God that she brought me back to reading His Word, to understanding the proper Gospel, repenting, and coming to Biblical Christianity.

Because God's word commands we stand for truth and against heresy thar deceives people that's why. Jesus called out false teachers, the apostles called out false teachers, 26 of 27 new testament books call out false teachers and God commands us to do the same.

What is frightening is that this is not something that has remained in the hyper charismatic circles. I have heard rhetoric similar to this from Baptists, Nazarenes, Methodists and others.

Thank you God for waking me up! I was in deep denial of the myriad sins and sinful ways that made my life a living hell. Now that I am free in Jesus, I have so much compassion for people trapped in New Thought, Unity, Science of Mind, etc. What they are missing while running from God is truth, forgiveness and hope.

I came across your presentation a little while ago, having come out of this kind of teaching in the churches. I was drawn into the SoZo movement….that is evil personified, you might want to do a session on that.
There is one thing I’d ask, that you round of with a summary of what is the truth….what does the Bible say about healing or whatever the topic is. What you share is fabulous, and finishing with what the Bible says will help those hurting and lost after the abuse of these so called churches.

When I was going through a very difficult time in my life 20 years ago, I was encouraged by a few coworkers to go to a nondenominational church in Los Angeles, where I lived at the time. They told me it would be life changing. I grew up in a Christian elementary school but didn’t have any religious kind of anything at home.
I was hesitant to go to this church but did go and I was immediately shocked by its popularity. They had overflow parking lots. It was structured like any church service - a worship team, announcements, prayer and a charismatic “reverend”. I cried so much my first visit and apparently so did many others - there were ushers specifically tasked with handing out kleenex!
I had no idea what new thought was, but what they taught at this church jived with all the new age stuff I’d been learning from Oprah so I stayed for a while.
I ended up leaving after 9 months - the reverend treated Jesus as a prophet and I had enough discernment to know that wasn’t correct.
Fast forward 5 years later and after another difficult time in my life I was directed by some people I met to go to their church. Lo and behold it was a Word of Faith church and what the pastor taught was so similar to the Nee Thought church. I stayed for a few years until God in his mercy opened my eyes.
In retrospect, I’m honestly shocked by the popularity of the New Thought church!
As Pastor Chris Roseborough would say...."no true prophecies were harmed in the making of this video"...

In this late day, it becomes harder and harder to watch the clips you find, but so important to see. Thank you. These people are moving solidly into ecumenical movement even to the point accepting anything that they might feel is right. I see them in Matthew 7:21-23

My mom raised me on the power of the subconscious mind book. She also taught us astrology. It was my moms Bible. After Jesus saved me, He immediately helped me discern this as being false but it took years and years for my mind to be trained not to think about someone in terms of the sign they were born under. It’s a stronghold. All of this is a stronghold. 1 Peter 1:13 tells us to prepare our minds for action!
Another preacher that was influenced by Robert Shuller and Norman Vincent Peale was Joel Osteen ..As you can see with his teachings .He often said that Shuller was his mentor

This is a wonderful video and very important for those who have not been exposed to eastern meditation practices like TM or Norman Vincent Peale (An apostate Presbyterian Pastor & author of "Think and Grow Rich", "The Power Of Positive Thinking") or the heretical Unitarian religion. etc. Which are all just a metaphysical mumble jumble tossed salad.
I have been watching these heretics mock, blaspheme God and deceive and lead many to hell for the past 45 years and this has expanded and gotten worse (popularly accepted). It makes me mad! God's mercy and grace for these people is exceptional. We are indeed living in the, Last Days! Get ready, Jesus will be coming quickly!!
I thought it was Napoleon Hill who wrote Think and Grow Rich, or did Peale authored a book with a similar title? Either way, I wrote above that Peale might have also influenced D. Paul Reilly, who I had emailed in 2013, to inform him that his religious ecumenism was doctrinally dangerous and that Jesus Christ is the only Lord and Savior. He told me not to email him again.

I was in WOF and it was so exhausting and frustrating. I have found more freedom when I left this garbage. Thank you Lord for mercy
New age and new thought brought so much destruction to my life. But God reached me anyway, because it did one single positive things, and that was that it made me open to believing in God again. Now the rest of the story is long, but after many, many years, the devil’s plan failed. That’ doesn’t mean that he didn’t destroy a lot of things in my life first. But here I am, navigating and learning but never going back to the deception. I’m rebuilding my life and I feel content after years of pain. Thank God for opening my eyes using a New Age friend of all people. And for never giving up on me. I am a new believer yet I know this is the right path. 🙏🏼

Thanks for this very interesting video. I heard about German healer named Bruno Groaning (1906-1959) I don't know very much about him but he was well known in Germany after 2. WW. There are followers of Bruno in many countries even today. They have lifted him very high. I was interested in how these so called healings happen. Most likely through these mind games.
Some people do have freaky powers, but they can't offer forgiveness and salvation🌿
Don't think Groening was of that sort. More of a mystic that believed he could 'tap from a higher power'. It's weird, but I doubt this something like an induced placebo effect...
Yes, there are differences between what was said in the video and how Groening operated but I saw some similarities as well.

You can’t separate Jesus and Paul teachings. Jesus is the way but Jesus ordained Paul to establish church doctrine and practice.
Paul wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit Who only spoke what the Lord Jesus gave to Him to instruct His apostles

I did read that E.W. Kenyon was a disciple of Phineas Quimby and Kenneth Hagin was a student of E.W. Kenyon. As I've been studying Church History, one thing that seems to "stand out" to me is this: "Teachings" presented to Christians that are "designed" to cater to "itching ears" most likely end up being false teachings. I think this would be a great subject to do a podcast on.

My mom and I literally fought over her telling me our words have power and I told her they don’t. She used the argument well if I kept saying negative words to you those have power. I’m so confused. 😭

To a degree they're correct. For example, if I sit and think unhappy thoughts all day, I'll end up unhappy all day. Where I take exception with these charlatans is that they treat God as if He's some kind of cosmic bellhop who will give them whatever they think of.
That's not what they're saying. Word of faith theology says your words and thoughts have power to create and destroy. It makes man sovereign over God. We're to renew our minds with God's word but our thoughts and words are not sovereign over God as they teach. Their entire doctrine is heresy and blasphemy.
