Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 січ 2022
- This is an in-depth tutorial on Burgmuller Op.100 No.2 "L'Arabesque." In this piece, I'm focusing on how to play 16th notes quickly and move your hands rapidly.
If I get enough views and likes, I will make this into a series and cover the rest of the book!

The cleanest version I've ever seen. This piece is my nemesis. Although I'm already playing much harder repertoire this piece still gives me trouble.
I hope this video gives you tips you can use for this and other pieces with similar passages!
@@AkiraIkegamiChannel I hope you’ll cover all the Burgmüller pieces! I’ll tackle Arabesque again with a metronome.
Thank you so much for this great lesson! The Araesque is just a classic.
I love this! Very clear and specific teaching points, just what i’m looking for instead of the general stuff discussed elsewhere. Thank you Akira!
Just came across your video. You are an excellent teacher. Honestly the finest tutorial i have ever come across. So beautifully explained. God bless you Akira San. I will continuously follow your classes from now on. The hard work you have out in making these videos are really visible. So many cameras, so much editing, multiple videos in a single screen! Hats off !
Thank you. I do my best to create videos you can actually learn from. I hope I can help learners and get more people to be interested in music.
My Book arrived today! Keep those Burgmuller videos coming! LUV em!
Thank you so much, your way of teaching is really helpful!
Thank you - my son loves to watch your UA-cam videos.
Happy to hear that!
Your advice to get there early and feel the keys before you play is what my teacher says. This is the first of your videos that I've found. Subscribed.
Welcome to the channel. I hope you'll enjoy other videos too.
@@AkiraIkegamiChannel The one for Frankness is brilliant!
Thank you!
You are a good teacher
Really love this video. It was so exiting to watch. I learned a lot!
Really enjoying these videos, have a couple of coffees on me. ☕
Thank you very much for your support!
They'll be the best tasting coffee ever :)
When I was little I looked forward to play this piece for so long lol
Now your dream has come true!
@@AkiraIkegamiChannel I did eventually get to play it and and I think I played it too much that my mom was still able to hum the melody when I was watching your video XD
very detailed and informative lesson, many thanks!!!
It's funny how those works are for intermedia level in this days, and back in time there was considered for beginers, also is so ilogical the speed marks, they doesn't match with the indications, this piece for example says, allegro scherzado, and the metronome mark sounds like presto agitato.
I appreciate the comment about how piano students need to "feel the keys". As a teacher this resonates with me.
This is so helpful! Are you planning on discussing how to teach sight-reading, especially at the basic level?
Thank you.
Sight-reading requires a combination of many different skills, and I'm not the best sight-reader by any means. Although one video is not enough to cover all about sight-reading, maybe I can make a video that goes over basic concepts involved in it.
I know you follow the metronome, but I like to hear this music in a slow time. Studying again with you, the first music I loved (Candore).
Always applying the techniques the best I can
Great!!!
OMG thank you teacher....🙏
Thank you for making this tutorial!
I am very much enjoying your videos!
Thank you so much for the guidance.
Great tips. Thanks a ton.
thank you!! really looking forward to the rest of the series! i play these well enough but don’t know how to teach them 🤔
Good Video! ❤
A useful and above all helpful
What do you think about playing without the 'wrist circles' to support the movement? Personally I keep my hand and arm well relaxed and only move my finger even when playing fast 16th notes (while practicing Hanon for example, now I'm used to it) and I feel it more comfortable this way. Is it wrong? Should I practice this gentle wrist movement or can I keep playing with my technique?
If it is working for you, I don't think there is any need to change.
But I'm not rotating my wrist to support fingers. My fingers are puling the wrists as a result of curving in to play each key. My wrists and arms are just not resisting it. In general, sound gets much smoother and more natural when fingers don't have to fight the rest of the body.
@@AkiraIkegamiChannel thank you very much!
Thank you so much. I have a piano contest in 3 weeks and i got to play this peice and i had some problems with it. This helped alot tysmm
Glad it was helpful.
Good luck with your competition!
@@AkiraIkegamiChannel Thank you!
My teacher always hold my wrist down. I know it is important abt hand position but at some point, it makes my hand stiff and not enjoying playing piano bcs i am thinking too much abt hand.
I think, when my wrist were curving, it was body ‘natural’ reaction to a more comfortable playing when playing certain notes.
And also, if my fingers too curvy shape toward inside, my teacher kept reminding me.
Pls let me know abt your thought abt this. I have been seen your tutorial and seems you are not as rigid as my teacher. You are also detail in explaining
(I wish you were my teacher…i might love piano more)
Finger shape is very important, but as to your individual case, I really cannot comment on it unless I see how you are playing. If you are interested, I do online consultation.
Also, if you haven't watched yet, check out my video about finger shape (3rd "My First Piano Lesson" video). It talks about my approach to basic finger shape.
@@AkiraIkegamiChannel i am thinking abt taking online cons or course. But goodness, i am so embarassed abt my messy playing.
I might practice hours and months before doing so. 🙈🙈🙈🙈
You don't need to be embarrassed, because that's what the lessons are for. But if you prepare something ahead of time, that'll help narrowing down what you really need help with.
👏👏👏
Thanks!
Thank you for your support!
Here I goooo..... - Mike
Could we get burgmuller 4 please
It'll be coming. Stay tuned!
Which hanon exercises specifically were you referring for the 16 notes?
All of them :)
Good lord...I just found gold
1:22, 2:13
But it is danm too fast! I cant play fast like this 😢 ...i can do it slowlier though.
There is nothing wrong with slower speed. Each music has certain range of tempo where it sounds the best. As long as you are within that range, there is nothing wrong with choosing the slower side. In fact, I would rather listen to a clean, expressive music at a slower tempo than a fast but messy performance.
Things I learned in this video is to ""Slide; DONT fly ur fingers on air ..""
Very detailed way of teaching . Thank u
toooooooooooooooooooooooooooo faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast.
