- Watch me make bloodwood cross pendants with a faux mother of pearl inlay for people who are entering the Church. This African wood has a beautiful red luster that almost glows under the right finish. Help me out and like and subscribe if you like my work, and leave me a comment!
The finish is a layer of shellac to bring out the rich color of the wood, followed by a water borne lacquer for increased protection.
The crosses were given to Catechumens in the Rite of Acceptance as part of the Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process. Pray for them!
These are listed in Etsy if you would like one of your own: www.etsy.com/l...
This project takes inspiration from some other great woodworkers like Matt Jordan, Andy Phillip, Olivier Goomis, and David Adamsen.

Hi, what is thatvyoy put in the middle and in the holes
This is faux shell material. Shell would work well as well, but the faux shell looks great, and is wonderful to work with.
What are the measurements if someone wants to make one
These turn out to be about 2 1/8" wide, 3 1/8" tall, and 3/8" deep. Each spoke is about 7/8" long. Best wishes on making yours!
