Jason Richardson was from 5:15 til the end. He was the distortion you mentioned. Polyphia has another song with Jason Richardson called "Aviator". He has a bunch of his own songs that are pretty popular as well.
Thank you I appreciate that! I'm getting a lot of requests now, so it's tough, but I'm working my way through them and enjoying getting to listen to new music with you all.
I just realised you have the power to controlling someone’s head bang just by the click of the pulse button. Ahah Especially on the part where it drops at 6:19. It’s like you paused my body with the video ahah Lol Jason Richardson comes in at 5:15 He has another song with Polyphia called “Aviator”. My favourite song by Jason Richardson would probably be his song “Chapter II (Ft Jeff Loomis)”. It is an 8min instrumental song. Pretty long but the experience is definitely worth it. And he’s working with the legendary Jeff Loomis. You can’t argue with that logic ahah. Awesome reaction my dude can’t wait to see more.
Another song from their New Levels New Devils album that you should react to is Saucy! Scott's part makes me feel some type of way, but any song from that album rocks tbh. So excited to see what's next!
It’s called a chick. A lot of players use it to either fill in a pause or announce their presence in the song or on the stage Edit: also you should do Death Note because that one features Ichika Nito
I feel we are getting into a territory where this might be territory or region based. Because I have been playing guitar for around 15 years now and have never once heard it referred to as a "chick"
@@iceman10129 Same here, i was thrown off by hearing it called a "chick" so i googled it and literally could not find one mention of it being called that.
It absolutely was. Tim has mentioned in interviews before that hip-hop is a huge influence on his work, and he often tries to give the guitar a voice, and almost make it sound like it's rapping. This influence comes across very strongly on O.D, with the melody being directly influenced by Kanye West's "Champions".
That "strum check" is usually called a dead note I'm pretty sure or a rake but thats more referring to if you hit a group of harmonics with that same pick motion.
Also, the guest solo on this song has always felt lackluster to me until you broke it down so eloquently. I actually quite love it now! Thank you for the new perspective
5:15 - the end with the distorted guitar was jason Richardson. Hes been featured on one of their other songs called aviator and he's a phenomenal guitarist! He has his own solo album with Luke Holland and you should definitely check it out! Tendinitis and Omni are great places to start!
Gotcha. I didn't realize that. Tune back into the channel this afternoon. My first listen to a Jason Richardson song will be uploaded. Just so happens to be Tendenitis. =)
Pretty happy with the your Polyphia list so far as their older songs are not this good. Death Note should be next. It's also from their latest album and it features Ichika Nito which is the best Japanese guitarist.
You did plini, & seem to do a lot of polyphia- for more guitar oriented stuff you might check out I Built the Sky and either Up into the Ether or Cumulus.
I think you should head back in time to the origins of prog rock such as ELP, Yes and Pink Floyd. You can hear influences of their work even 50 years later
CSProductions.29 Emerson Lake and Palmer was an English band formed in the early 70s. They are considered one of the pioneers of Prog Rock. Listen to the Tarkus album. Really, if you want to dig into prog rock origins you have to go to King Crimson, they formed in the late 60s. Have fun, you will listen to some outstanding music! And, like I said earlier, you will hear influences from them 50 years later
@@tokillaprince Haha you're good Brother! Also, I greatly appreciate the kind words and support. I do my best to stay in these comments and get to people's suggestions. =)

Dude, Jason Richardson was an animal on this track and I'll have to add that one!

React to sea dragon or falkor by covet... they're also instrumental but in a more math rock oriented way... Can't wait to see your reaction
Covet should be way more known than they are, so fucking good
It’s called a chick. A lot of players use it to either fill in a pause or announce their presence in the song or on the stage

Appreciate the help there DTR and I've add it to my list now.
@@Guitarz4Lyf You definitely wont regret checking out Death Note. My favorite song off of New Levels New Devils.

@@newberryle19 I've always thought it was "mute strum"
This groove almost has a massive hip-hop, if not dub-step feel to it. I kind of dig the fusion, assuming that’s what they were going for.

drown and nasty are from “new levels new devils”, the worst is from their ep “the most hated”
please react to paradise by polyphia!
Say no more!
Paradise is AMAZING!

5:16 Jason Richardson, Oh and react to I built the sky - up into the ether.. peace
I'll ad it to my list!
Nightmare is a good Polyphia song, one of their older ones. Also, I think you were referring to ghost notes which is basically muting completely.
Gotcha, Thank you for the help. Also, I have that one on my list and will get to it soon. Stay tuned!
Love their music and your reaction
Thanks Matrix!

I'll be sure to check it out very soon in my polyphia journey.
Bruh. Their old stuff was also great
trippy stuff, I dig it
Chon is always a tasty listen
kinda crazy you make the rap analogy, tim is on the record saying he tries to make his music be like guitar rapping.
He's so good at composing. Didn't know this. Thank you for sharign!
Dude. You are just my favorite reaction channel
Can we get some I The Mighty? The frame trilogy maybe?

I have 1 I built the sky reaction coming next week! 🙂
You need to listen to Nightmare by Polyphia as your next reaction!
Did you watch Steve Vai - Tender Surrender? mind blowing shit it is :)
Chris, if you’re going to do Polyphia, you have to do Animals As Leaders and Tosin Abasi
I've got those on my list. They'll be coming very soon! Stay tuned

It’s not a string check it’s a mute. You mute the strings with your left hand and strum. It’s a mute.
Thank you for the help here.
CSProductions.29 no problem my man
Fun fact: they don't play this whole song live because they can't play jasons solo
They play like techn9ne spits.
u gotta listen to O.D my guy
