I knew from how much I loved the singles, that this album would be one my favourites of the year. Not a single bad track. I have listened to it around four times now and it just gets better after each listen. It's 100% in my top five AOTY and I can't wait to see them next year for the second time with August Burns Red, the newer tracks will be insane live. I'm thankful bands like Dying Wish and Boundaries are keeping the OG sound alive!
I knew I was gonna like the new album because I like this band...but it blew me away...fighting for my aoty as well...I'm shocked how few people have given it a shot on youtube...they're missing out!
Thanks to you, now im saving the whole album on Spotify. This shit is the perfect, raw 00's metalcore sound, with HARDcore breakdowns. Love the drums especially. Those cleans were angelic at points too.
I went into this album after seeing one of your shorts the other day and man I'm blown away! I wasn't sure what I was going to think before but it was such a great album really gave me that old metalcore vibe!
To be honest, I didn't expect much going into this album. Heard "Torn From Your Silhouette" when it came out and liked it, but wasn't salivating for the album. After having listened to the full album though, it really surprised me. It felt really refreshing despite the throwback sound. Even the chugging portions still hit pretty hard. I agree with you that this album is paced extremely well. 32 mins, to the point no BS type metalcore. Paved in Sorrow is my favorite track and I hope they do more stuff like that in the future. Favorite early 2000s metalcore band would have to be Killswitch Engage. Alive or Just Breathing, End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies are all fantastic works.
Hell yeah dude!!!! This album has all of the elements of early metalcore that got me hooked on the genre when i was in high school back in '05. Album absolutely rips
I said before and I'll say it here: Dying Wish perfectly showcases classic metalcore. Her screams are heavy, cleans are beautiful, the drums are fantastic... I love this album for the constant heaviness and harmonies, and how each song flows into the next. Yes, every track offers different tones. My favorite new band this year, and probably my favorite album. Favorite early 2000's metalcore band? Who else: KsE!!
For their early 2000s stuff, kse is my favorite, but my fav band that made music in the 2000s is abr. I just think abrs late 2000s and early 2010s stuff is better than their early 2000s stuff. Im so glad that this revivalcore stuff is getting big bc the melodic metalcore sound will always be my absolute fav.
I'm gonna sound crazy but I have never really clicked with old school metalcore but this revival sound is absolutely amazing with boundaries and this band being my favourite (god I wish their tour was coming to my city). this album will most likely be a top 3 along with fromjoy and Bell Witch. Starved and Lost in the Fall are probably my favourite tracks
QOTD: Trivium for sure. Still killing it after 23 years and while they have some missteps, they’re still very consistent and have numerous classics under their belt. This Dying Wish record slaps as well
I like it quite a bit. It sounds like a Boundaries album structurally. Listen to this record and Burying Brightness back to back and you can tell they recorded these not too far apart with the same dudes at Graphic Nature.
When you said “that China is the biggest victim of this album, absolutely abused” that shit. Man that shit was the most accurate statement of the video negl holy shit 😂
For personal emotional reasons, Heavener is still #1 for me. Dying Wish made me a fan though with this album. Didn't like them before, they changed my mind tenfold
How much more china?....All the Chyna!.... This album sometimes sounds like killswitch, sometimes like as I lay dying, then throw in some hardcore breakdowns, rhythm and vocals. This might surpass Currents for AOTY for me
Night rider - night rider For big fans of kingdom of giants -passenger, this is the closest thing you can find. Every chorus is sing along worthy. And of course don't forget. This a metalcore album. Ambient and singing is on higher priority but it got it's fair share of groove and breakdowns.
Trivium are the kings of early 2000s Metalcore imo, absolutely unreal all the way up until 2013 , and then they came back even better 2017 onward lol. Insanely good band
Lost In The Fall is head and shoulders the best song on the album, not that anything else isn’t good, but what a phenomenal song. While it’s not a contender for album of the year to me, it is one in terms of heavy full lengths. Boygenius is just too damn good to me to get pushed off the top by anything.
Indeed AOTY. You can’t beat the rawness of the lyrics and the riffs. Plus I’m kind of bored with the overuse of electronics in metal now. These guys just throw it down and dirty.
Well I'm happy to see good production, a solid chorus and simple breakdowns still get people pumped. That's all I take away from this unfortunately, this sound has been done 100,000 times before this and this band's vocalist has used shady twitter antics to promote their albums in the past so I'll skip their hype lol.
Emma casually just did the hardest "BITCH!" Ive ever heard in a song.

I also love Phinehas, who also keep the 2000's metalcore alive but with a modern production. Absolute kings
@@sangeethrajhopper4130 their last album was insane
Don`t forget Foreign Hands bringing back more melodic, Poison the Well style OG metalcore.
@@eugenesyvokon6145 Foreign Hands are great. Their new track has been on repeat
@@eugenesyvokon6145there is literally a Foreign Hands, Boundaries, Dying Wish tour right now
This is my album of the year
Im inclined to agree! They could be knocked loose tier after seeing how hard they came out swinging with this one!
Trivium's ascendancy and shogun are the two albums that got me into metalcore, both are still two of my favorite albums
Same. After first listening to shogun I was like 'omg screaming is actually FUN' ascendency solidified the love
10 year old me had Rain on repeat constantly when it released, Ascendancy was such a good album
Absolutely incredible and raw. Pure emotion. Love this from start to finish 🤘🏾🤘🏾
Dude. You know that feeling of raw music. No dissonance in live and production. Holy shit. You’re amazing.
I knew I was gonna like the new album because I like this band...but it blew me away...fighting for my aoty as well...I'm shocked how few people have given it a shot on youtube...they're missing out!
This album is insane. So good
I got Killswitch Engage and As Blood Runs Black vibes from some of these tracks. But man this album is amazing!
I was into The Sorrow and A Traitor Like Judas, and this album is such a good revival of that stuff
the Sorrow was my favorite too. I was really sad when they broke up
Thanks to you, now im saving the whole album on Spotify. This shit is the perfect, raw 00's metalcore sound, with HARDcore breakdowns. Love the drums especially. Those cleans were angelic at points too.
this album will be iconic in few years
August Burns Red for sure. Messengers is still one of the best metalcore albums of all time
Found in Far Away Places is my favorite album of all time.
Real talk no cap
@@marlondavis9450 he knows wassup fr
you should go back in their discography and listen to "Cowards Feed Cowards Bleed" or "Enemies In Red" (the latter features vocalist of Knocked Loose)
I went into this knowing I’d like it and that it would be in my top 10, but I was blown away and think it could potentially be my AOTY
Dude, what a week of releases!
I went into this album after seeing one of your shorts the other day and man I'm blown away! I wasn't sure what I was going to think before but it was such a great album really gave me that old metalcore vibe!
Unearth! They're still heavy as hell to this day, and The Oncoming Storm set foundations for metalcore 🔥
I saw them live last year when they opened for The Devil Wears Prada in Columbia, SC. They did not disappoint! Incredible riffs, drums, and vocals!!!
This album is a 2007 time capsule! AMAZINNNNGGG
Their last album was so fucking heavy and this one is heavy and hits the feels lol I really loved the last stuff they put out and this is even better
Absolutely killer album! Seen them live in Bristol and Brixton with Counterparts - both were amazing! Emma is one hell of a vocalist
To be honest, I didn't expect much going into this album. Heard "Torn From Your Silhouette" when it came out and liked it, but wasn't salivating for the album. I didn’t even know this band existed until now, crazy album
One of the best albums of the year. I've been absolutely addicted to the whole thing back to front, not a bad song
Hell yeah dude!!!! This album has all of the elements of early metalcore that got me hooked on the genre when i was in high school back in '05. Album absolutely rips
Ashen is still my AOTY but damn this is a close second
hollow front have dropped their latest album, 'the fear of letting go'. brutal and emotional.
God this rules. Ive been blasting the new profiler track, silent planet, spiritbox and more and it is just wild how much good music is coming out rn
As I Lay Dying and All That Remains.
YES!!! BRING BACK 2008 - 2010
That breakdown rift at 5:10 gave me lots of Gojira vibes and I'm SO here for it!!
For some reason for me this reminds me of AA stand up and scream but with a female vocalist
Perfect mix of heavy, with WAY more singing this time. And she sounds amazing!
For their early 2000s stuff, kse is my favorite, but my fav band that made music in the 2000s is abr. I just think abrs late 2000s and early 2010s stuff is better than their early 2000s stuff. Ascendency is still one of the best metalcore albums of all time to this day.
@@SamuelStudios A classic. So many amazing riffs
Prey For Me riff you're talking about has major Knocked Loose vibes
Invent is still my AOTY but silent planet & dying wish both are top 5 material
3:15 reminded me of In Flames - Delight And Angers.. one of my very early Metal memories
I like it quite a bit. It sounds like a Boundaries album structurally. Listen to this record and Burying Brightness back to back and you can tell they recorded these not too far apart with the same dudes at Graphic Nature.
Just saw them live in Brooklyn and dude I think my neck is broken LOL. The moshpit was insane
Yeah this album is great! Almost let it drown in the releases last Friday, but thank god I listened to it anyway.
Every break down wholesome in the ear.
This album aoty contender
People always overlook caliban
Her cleans remind me of the vocalist from the old Treyarch Nazi Zombies songs.
Someone brought the 2009 vibe back, I'm not necessarily a huge fan of this band, but the instrumentals at times just remind me of the good old days)
That riff going through Pray For Me sounds like Lying from You by Linkin Park a bit
This album cooks
slapped it all weekend. absolutely ripper of an album!
When you said “that China is the biggest victim of this album, absolutely abused” that shit. Man that shit was the most accurate statement of the video negl holy shit 😂
If it wasn't for Heavener, then this would be AOTY
This album RIPS
An absolute slapper of an album. Holy sh*t.
Boundaries & Dying Wish
Are Daddy (AOTY 2022) & Mommy (AOTY 2023)
My favorite 2000’s metalcore band is AILD, Shadows are Security and An Ocean Between Us are top tier
For personal emotional reasons, Heavener is still #1 for me. Dying Wish made me a fan though with this album. Didn't like them before, they changed my mind tenfold

I would say this is my AOTY as well
Killswitch Engage. Also, this whole album is going straight to my fuckin' playlist.
AOTY right there
THE best album
Night rider - night rider

Easily in my top 3 AOTYs
Year of the Knife just released a crazy album too‼️
This IS my aoty
Miss May I
Apologies Are For The Weak is my favorite old school metalcore record.
I agree, parkway drive was one of my beginner bands
Underoath in the 2000's was untouchable 🤘
if Invent Animate didn't come out this year, easy AOTY
Lost In The Fall is head and shoulders the best song on the album, not that anything else isn’t good, but what a phenomenal song. While it’s not a contender for album of the year to me, it is one in terms of heavy full lengths.

Bullet for my Valentine for me One of the best 2000s Metalcore bands in my Home Country of the UK 🇬🇧
Ive been clearly sleeping on Dying Wish, this shit is disgustingly good
BFMV is my favourite 2000s metalcore band
Let Boundaries cook....
Help, I'm drowning in good music
This album absolutely destroyed me! 1000% AOTY contender!!
As I Lay Dying
IT'S JOEVER
Super fun album. I really enjoyed it! The only complaint is how repetitious the China cymbal became. Got to a point where that is all I was hearing.
Killswitch Engage no question
Killswitch Engage any day of the week . My favourite band of all time :)
Definitely an AOTY top contender
hollow front new album ????
Indeed AOTY. You can’t beat the rawness of the lyrics and the riffs. Plus I’m kind of bored with the overuse of electronics in metal now. These guys just throw it down and dirty.
It’s pretty decent
Killswitch engage never a bad track
Not a big fan of 2000's metalcore, but if I had to choose I would go for Avenged Sevenfold !
Norma Jean
Every song and breakdown sounds the same 😂
If something is too good why change it? Lol.
It's a tie between August Burns Red, AILD and Trivium. I listened to all equally as much.
As I Lay Dying. Too bad the band is actually dying rn 😢
Way better then spirit box there so overrated
