In 2001, The Evening Standard reported that Sahaja Yoga has been "described as a dangerous cult" and "has a dissident website created by former members". The reporter, John Crace, wrote about an event he attended and noted that a Sahaja Yoga representative asked him to feel free to talk to whomever he wanted. He remarked, "Either their openness is a PR charm offensive, or they genuinely have nothing to hide." He proposed that "one of the key definitions of a cult is the rigour with which it strives to recruit new members" and concluded that there was no aggressive recruitment squeeze.[38]
David V. Barrett wrote that some former members say that they were expelled from the movement because they "resisted influence that Mataji had over their lives". This is a lie or misinformation or someone is trying to create negative image of Sahaj yog. They have doctors, scientists etc, etc who have researched and filed documentations and made presentations after numerous research. They have sahaj you hospitals in India who have cured incurable diseases. Its all about the primordial power that resides in every person that rises its fullest form and you get self realization. The arrival of Shri Nirmala Devi Maa have already been mentioned in books written thousands of years before. She was very gentle, kind and spent and travelled around with her own money. She is known by many names Adi Shakti, Athena and so soon......she has come in many forms before to guide humanity and this time she came in the form of a Mother and she will come again.
